Christina was absolutely incredible; my experience was nothing short of sublime. It was my birthday, and at the last minute, a stylist that I've been going to for three years had canceled my appointment two hours before birthday dinner. Your receptionist and Kristina were gracious enough to squeeze me in last minute as a walk-in. After showing her a picture of the vibe I was going for, she proceeded with precision and intention, using scissors masterfully where others would've used clippers, point cuts as opposed to shears, but most importantly made the minutes feel feel luxuriously longer, the styling bespoke, and cutated a creatively current cut for a happy man who upon leaving, looked ten years younger on his 50th birthday. 50 is the new 40, and Hawthorn has a new, grateful and loyal client. i've had a handful of great experiences with great artists at this salon! Jill, Haley, and Libby were all wonderful with helping me transform my hair over and over :) easy to book last minute, cozy environment, friendly and talented artists. this is a great spot. also, Waverly was super friendly and helpful! so i had an impulse to dye my hair (after highlighting for a couple years ) so i went for a baby pink dye at home and immediately booked a salon appointment where libby got me to this beautiful auburn red that i absolutely love but couldn't get used to not being blonde. so against my better judgement i used 2 boxes of color oops and 1 box of color remover. again, Libby did an amazing job it looked stunning just not used to being a redhead. anyways the color remover had developer in it which i discovered while it was in my hair. so i was really orange and brassy. Haley brightened me up with highlights and a root shadow which also looked beautiful and caramel. loved it, she did an amazing job and i was super happy with it. all of this combined w my last appointment with Jill today where we got my roots super super dark so it blends better with my natural which i absolutely love and completely got rid of the red color ( that i wanted lol ) all within a matter of about 3 weeks . my hair feels and looks great. anyways moral of the story if u have a hair identity crisis or impulse come here!! they will make your hair dreams come true read more

I have been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. I get a hair cut about twice a year since or whenever I am in town. Everyone here is exceptional. I have gotten a new stylist every time I visit just because I am in town for a short time and usually say anyone is fine. My hair is mostly straight and I always ask for trim and some curtain bangs. Every stylist has done a phenomenal job. I have recommended Hawthorn Salon to multiple people and my friends have not been disappointed when coming here. The quality of the products they use always leave my hair soft. They always give a blowout and curl it if you want. The prices have increased recently which is why I don't go as often but it is always worth it. For parking it is quite hard to find if you decide to go on a busy day or at a busy time. I would recommend arriving a little early and parking in the back if anything. read more

After going to this salon continually for months, I finally walked out on my last appointment. I paid $300 each time for my hair to look completely the same, color-wise. And the last haircut was so atrocious I cried going home. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and went back. Only to be told they couldn't do my hair at the last appt the way I asked because it was "so damaged", but they are the ones that had been doing my hair. And respectfully my hair was not damaged except from the razoring butcher job from the last hair cut. I asked to see a picture of what I should expect it to look like she showed me a picture-it was practically identical to what I had come in with from my last appt. I said I'm not paying another $300 for my hair to look exactly the same, I'd rather leave. And so I did. Aside from this I found it ridiculous how they overbook and use so many "helpers" to blow dry your hair and wash it at one time. Only for them to rush your service when you're back in the chair. The overall friendliness wasn't there either, customer care is severely lacking and for the price it's even more outlandish to be that way. Luckily, I found a local salon with a true luxurious and professional experience, who accomplished what I asked for and for less than what I paid here. My new forever salon! For years I've been self treating and only went to a salon for a special event, holiday or to correct any damage to my hair. As you get older you see more of a need to have your hair tended to. I always read reviews and depend on people experiences which helps yield my decision to go or not. In looking for a new salon I came across Hawthorne by walking past it in town for lunch. I then did some research and decided I wanted to make an appointment with Jill. She had great reviews and nothing but praise online. My first appointment was 4 months ago. I waited to write a review because I wanted to see how my hair would hold up. I've now been three times since, once every 6 weeks. I have curly thick hair and it can get dry and curls need some love from time and time. I am pleased to report I love Jill and love the way Hawthorne salon makes you feel at home. It's a modern, classy, respectable and enjoyable place to be. The staff are so upbeat and happy you can tell they love working there. They emulate teamwork in a salon atmosphere. I get my hair conditioned, colored, cut and styled. I cannot praise them enough for not just being another salon but being another place for me to get away and just have a good time while getting pampered. Bathrooms are sparkling clean, facility is organized, clean and spacious. Oh! And the customer service is amazing. I get text message alerts and can actually communicate with their staff through text with any appointments or questions. So convenient. ive been here twice for my haircuts. stylist Taylor was my first & she was super nice & laid back. did a great job on my hair. yesterday I had Megan. & she was just as great. gave me exactly what I wanted & styled my hair beautifully in the end. I won't go anywhere else for hair needs. they are very updated on trends & all the Unique haircuts & colors. I came across this salon by searching for a place specializing in curly hair cuts online. New to the area, I'd been to two Deva Curl stylists but was sorely disappointed with the haircuts and the prices compared to what I was used to. This time I wanted to go to someone who understands curly hair but wasn't going to do a full-on deva cut. I messaged the text appointment number, heard back quickly, and was able to get in the very next day with Morgan. When I went in I was welcomed right away at the front reception desk, and noticed a broad range of clientele of all ages. The atmosphere was clean and fresh with cool artwork on the walls and for sale as well as displays of other little cards and gifts, and salon products. Morgan was great! She was on time, listened carefully to what I wanted in the way of length and layers and she definitely understands curls. She cut my hair dry and then asked if I wanted a full wash after and diffused dry or if I preferred just a curl reactivate spray and quick dry. I opted for the second option as I normally just air dry my hair and had just washed my hair the morning of the cut. I appreciated the options! Whenever you move to a new city, it's always daunting to find a new hair stylist. It's like dating and trying to find the "perfect" boyfriend. So I was nervous to try this place but I've heard great things about stylist John Henson from coworkers so I decided to check it out for a haircut. He's very personable and listens to what your vision is. Plus he's by way of Tampa and Atlanta so we clicked. He does a great job with texture haircut with layers. But he'll admit he's not great at curling hair with a curling iron so he asked an assistant to do it for him. Payton did a great job curling my hair and had the patience to take a couple pictures of my hair for my social media. Will be back! read more

I went to this place and the girls there are very friendly. It's a huge salon with lots of people working there. It was easy to get an appointment which is really nice. They're very welcoming, the entryway is very nice and they offer drinks when you come in. There is street parking so it may take a few minutes for you to find parking in the area and walk there but it's in a great location. There's also coffee shops nearby and some shopping as well. My husband and I both got a haircut here and I got my hair colored here. I will say my haircut, and my husband's haircut was great!! My husband's haircut, he's very hard to satisfy, was amazing! if I'm not mistaken, he had Christine, and I not only saw her to his haircut, the other men's haircuts, and she's really good with attention to detail. I could not schedule an appointment with her. However, the young lady who cut my hair, did also an excellent job and paid attention to what I wanted. For the haircut definitely five stars! For the hair color, three stars. I have black Indian hair and I have a lot of grays especially in the front. I know it's not perfect to cover every single gray, but I really wanted the grays in the front of my head to be covered because obviously that's the first thing people see. I will tell you that that was not done to my liking. There were several pieces of gray hair in the front that were very obvious that were not colored properly. She whipped up the color and colored my hair very randomly, without really looking at where my grays were. On the back of my head that's totally OK but I was not happy with my hair color in the front. I don't remember her name, she's a very nice person, and was very sweet, but I would not get my hair colored there again. Considering this wasn't even a fancy hair color or anything out of the ordinary I would've expected my hairs to be colored properly. I've been to other places and they were able to cover up 99% of my grays. Unfortunately, that was not done here to my liking and the most obvious grays were still in the front. so overall 4 stars. read more

I booked an appointment here about a month ago because it's in a great area and the reviews were amazing. I noticed that a few people on staff worked with curly hair which you think would be an absolute rarity despite many people having textured hair. My hair is kind of a hybrid; fine hair but a lot of it. It's wavy and curly, but my bangs are relaxed and like anyone with hair knows...it will do what it wants and when it wants. I have struggled to really embrace my waves and curls for the majority of my life so I was very happy that my person was so nice. I waited maybe 3 or 4 minutes in the lobby and met Marlana. She is so nice and chill. She scoped my texture and went to shampoo/condition. I just wanted to keep my hair as healthy and long as possible. She was super receptive even though sometimes, I honestly don't know what I want or how to verbalize it. I love that she cut my hair and then styled it with my actual texture. So many people blow dry it, straighten it, or even straighten it out........then curl it? I know people say it looks more put together/polished, but i'm tired of having to spend hours on my hair so someone thinks it looks "decent". I like all the styles, but I hate that I can never wear it natural for fear of the judgement however 2020/2021 have been the years of trying to embrace the texture so I am happy that is comfortable, not only cutting my hair but styling it as well even though it was more simple in appearance. For my wash, cut, and style- I think it ended up being $60 and I tipped $15. I was extremely happy and I will be back to get my hair cut by her. She will definitely be my Jax hairstylist from here on out. She listens and I didn't feel dumb when I didn't know what half the things were, she talks things out and cuts according. Also, as someone with length, she is not overly scissor happy and that's just lovely. This location is amazing/ near things to do and restaurants and there are cute little things in the lobby, if you want to buy things. My one major drawback is the parking. It's not bad when it isn't busy, but it took me a few turns around the block then I got a great spot. They can only help that so much in all honesty so I would say to just go 10 minutes early as a buffer for parking. Once again, definitely recommend not only Hawthorn, but also Marlana. read more

After being warmly greeted and offered refreshments you'll be whisked away into the caring hands of their master stylists. On this particular visit I was paired with Haley and she was every bit as friendly as her bubbly smile and beach waves let on. She very calmly listened to what I envisioned and guided me in the right direction so my hair did not turn into a mushroom-y disaster. After washing my hair, she proceeded to cut my locks with precision and expertise. She told me because of the style I chose, she would like to blow dry me straight to check over any imperfections in the cut. I love that she was so communicative. With a few little snip here and there, I was ready to be styled into my chosen beach waves. Let me tell you I could not stop smiling seeing the finished product! Best part was I was in and out the door in roughly 45 minutes! I've only been twice now, but both times, either with AJ or with Haley I have been paired with professional stylists who know how to take my wants and interpret them into something much more gorgeous. Y'all really gotta check out this beautiful, great smelling, super clean salon! Everyone and I mean everyone is so darn sweet! They have many different line of product to appease everyone and that's what I like! They are very organized and have lots of cute stuff for sale in the salon. They always have an availability which is important to me, I have been their twice already first time I saw Abby and she was excellent doing my touch up, she was personable and I like that, then the 2nd time I went I met Taylor and she was icing on the cake! She also was personable and made me laugh, she really has skills and great ideas and is very confident and I like that about her. She made me feel comfortable about some issues I had with past stylists. I'll definitely be back, I was looking for a salon home and I think I found it!
