I first reached out to Foiled Rotten Salon through Yelp messenger. I've had a difficult time getting the top portion of my heads natural curl back after box color hair damage. For the last 6 months I tried different home remedies and nothing was working. My hair was dry and curl at the top was just not doing anything. That's when I decided to look on Yelp and see what others have been saying about local salons. This brought me here to FRS, Veronica the owner was very responsive through Yelp messaging and suggested glossing with some curl treatments. After reading the existing reviews I decided to give it a try. Veronica had an opening for today with a stylist that I remember reading good reviews on. An hour later I met with Sandy. She took the time to ask me about my hair and evaluate my needs and my hairs needs. After protein treatments and drying I am happy to report I have some curl revived. I don't expect to leave with my healthy curly hair but I left with hair that I believe is the beginning stages of restoration and rejuvenation. I decided to buy the product line they used to continue the curl treatments. After about a month of use I will be sure to provide another update as to the results. I had never dyed my hair before, but nonetheless - especially after several months in quarantine and several months of scrolling through TikTok - I craved to split dye my bangs. Soon after I called, Olena quickly reached out to me, gave me open appointment dates and a quote, updated me if an earlier appointment slot opened, and was incredibly responsive. Through my stay at the salon, Olena walked me through what she could do with my hair to accomplish my ideal. I saw how meticulous she was with bleaching my hair and ensuring the dye was evenly applied to my hair. My hair turned pure, unfiltered snow white by age 30. I can no longer color it myself because it would involve buying 3 bottles of color, At that price point it simply makes more sense to have a professional have a go at it. Sandra (aka Sandy) transformed my hair to exactly what I wanted. I had dyed my (virgin) blonde hair black in November to a dark brown. I went to a salon in January and asked them to turn me back to my original blonde color as best as they could... as you can tell by the before picture they turned me orange! I went for a consultation with Sandy about two weeks after that happened and she told me she would do what she could. She even had me come back two weeks later for a strand test and everything went perfect. Three weeks later she turned me from an orange to a beautiful ash blonde with soft yet gorgeous highlights. I have desperately been searching for a new salon home and found foiled rotten on yelp. I just get a basic trim, no color, not style, nothing. I saw Carolyn's work and fell in love. First, I sent a message via yelp. The reply was "visit the website for booking and pricing" after I had already tried that. No help at all.. so I figured out how to book on their partner website. I made an appt for a dry/wet cut at 530pm on a weekday. I rush thru traffic to arrive 6 mins early. Nobody greeted me but I said hi and sat down. I wait 20+ mins and nobody had even checked on me. It was 17 mins past my appt time so I got up and left. I drove 20 mins out of my way to come here and now I'll be stuck in traffic for 30 mins trying to get home. I have never felt so disregarded. The salon looked fine, a little cluttered but relatively clean. Can't comment on their work since nobody cared enough to even speak to me or follow through with my booked appointment. Definitely do not recommend even wasting your time if you're like me and looking for a new salon. Back to the drawing board, any suggestions welcome. read more
