The first time I came to this Salon, a woman named Rachel helped me and she made me never want to come back. Long Story.... HOWEVER...Frank, the owner asked me to come back and give the salon another shot. He promised he would be the one to do my hair this time. So I did, and I am glad I did. Honestly, he did an AMAZING job. I walked into the salon that day feeling like a mop, and walked out feeling like a supermodel. My boyfriend couldn't take his eyes off of me for days afterward. He helped me choose a fantastic color, that I was very happy with, and my haircut and style was done perfectly. He entertained me the entire time he was doing my hair. Time went by very quickly and the result was great. I waited to leave a review to make sure the color doesn't just wash off in a day. It has been a month, and it is still in pretty good shape. While my hair color was drying, Tracy gave me a gel manicure...and It wasn't the most amazing gel manicure in the world, but it was good. She was a pleasure to get a manicure from. She took her time with my cuticles and painting my nails. She was very nice and professional. My nails looked great. The color I chose did begin to chip off a bit after a week, but that's not exactly her fault. The nail polish brand and cleaning supplies I used that week could've made the polish more brittle. Overall, I am extremely happy with my visit and would come back again. Here are the only few cons: 1. Rachel (Just avoid her and your experience should be great) 2. Price: This salon is still very expensive...(It should be marked as $$$) but Frank did explain to me that his rent for the salon went up by a crazy amount unexpectedly, so I'm assuming that he is just trying to make up that difference. I would still be wiling to pay a little more to have him as my hair stylist. 3. (NAILS) No plastic pre-colored nails to choose color easily. You have to pick up each bottle of polish (and there's A LOT) and hope whichever one looks good in a bottle will look just as good on your hands. Otherwise, this place is great. So this review is written a few weeks after my first visit there (wanted to let time pass and give a fair chance to this style). My stylist was Rachel (Rachael?). First thing - I would probably avoid hair services if you have curly/wavy hair. I did warn the salon about my hair type and when I entered I made sure it looked as natural as possible (no heat application) and mentioned that I used products typical for this hair type (Ouidad) and without prompting my hair was still straightened at the end of the visit, which indicates to me that they are not trained in handling anything that isn't straight. My request was pretty simple (a wash for my hair, general trim, and bangs). My hair as cut way too short, even accounting for the dead ends (I even informed them that I wanted to keep the length) and was given layers despite turning that down. The bangs were also an issue and continue to be one - they were cut far too wide, too thin and far too long, especially considering I had multiple photo references that I repeatedly pulled out for my stylist throughout the appointment. When I left the salon, they were so in my eyes that I had to fix them at home (like... between a quarter of an inch and half an inch had to be fixed). Everyone was polite (my favorite part was getting my hair washed, I believe her name was Stephanie and she was a delight). But maybe my stylist was..... having a day. She also repeatedly kept telling me that my bangs would settle since they weren't used to carrying this light weight anymore (which I have never had a stylist tell me and which has never been my experience with multiple instances of bangs) but almost two months later, they're still problematic and I mean.... they're still awkward and way too wide, especially for my face shape. Everyone was kind and maybe they have a better time if your hair is naturally straight, but this is a big warning to my fellow curly-haired individuals. read more

I must preface this review by admitting bias in favor of the previous ownership of this salon. Before Salon Reaction, there was Salon by Janet Marie, who became my one and only hair stylist and she does have magic hands. Janet found it necessary to sell her business, even after an extensive remodeling of the shop. Janet is and has been a senior stylist at Paradigm Salon & Spa http://www.yelp.com/biz/paradigm-salon-and-spa-langhorne for the past several years. I still drive to Newtown to have her work her miracles on me, unless I am being lazy. Twice I have walked into Great Clips http://www.yelp.com/biz/great-clips-feasterville-trevose for a simple trim, vowing I will never return, so when I am being lazy now or deciding to get a last minute cut or color I have been going to Salon Reaction. I knew the layout of the salon well from my previous visits, but I had no idea who to ask for, I'll have Janet please was wishful thinking. I have to admit my discomfort was relieved when I was satisfied after my few visits. I still do not ask for anyone and I do not make appointments as it is always a last minute "can you take me" sort of thing. Salon Reaction is located in a very small shopping center on a very busy four lane highway. Janet always had trouble with roof leaks, the air conditioning and the landlord. From what I have seen, the air conditioning is still a problem and I hate to sweat, especially when I am in an environment with blow dryers, hair dryers and curling irons. Knowing this is not the new owners fault, I just want to strip down before they drape that apron on me. This is a husband and wife team, Frank and Tracy, who brought several of their stylists with them from a previous shop they all worked in. Frank is a hair stylist and Tracy is a manicurist and in charge of all nails. They do the dreadful wax, but I have not used this service with the new owners yet. The salon is clean and attractive and has not changed it's looks since Janet owned it. I would recommend it for new comers to the neighborhood or for a last minute fix. read more

I want to first day that this is definitely the best salon I have been to! I work about an hour away from my home and usually don't get out until very late. So finding a place open by the time I'm back is usually unheard of. I desperately needed color work done and a shape up. I read the reviews and decided to book an appt since it was close by. I was a little hesitant about going to a new place especially to get a blonde ombré from my current brown hair. I am so glad I went!!! My stylist was Amanda and she was so nice and pleasant. Even though it was last minute and late she didn't make it seem like a hassle. She even stayed late to do my hair although she had plans to leave for the beach for the holiday weekend! She took the time to discuss exactly what I wanted with my hair and gave different options and advice on how to achieve my new look. Everyone in the salon was nice and accommodating and I didn't feel rushed at all. Frank cut my hair couple of weeks ago and I absolutely loved it! I not only got a great haircut but everyone was super nice and welcoming! I've only been to this salon one time & was VERY happy with the entire experience. It's hard for me to set appointments since my husband works crazy hours & I have 2 little ones. Really wanted my hair done last minute & was driving by. Decided to chance it & stop in. Not only was not having an appointment not a problem but they were extremely accommodating & courteous. It was the end of the day so not many stylists were left. They took me within 20 minutes (allowing enough time to take my daughter to 5 Below across the street). I was given to "Gabby", a very nice young lady & more importantly great stylist! While I was being cut, the woman at the front desk in the salon spent time with my 8 year old- even offering her cookies.:) Much to my surprise, I was given a "new client" goody bag which included a discount coupon for my next visit, & a travel size hairspray. Nice touch. An added bonus is the convenient hours- they are open until 8 PM Tuesday thru Thursday. Fridays until 7 PM. I would definitely recommend this salon. If you blink you'll miss this place, but it's an amazing salon with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Joanne is my stylist, she is an expert at the ouidad haircut. I was very nervous coming in to get a ouidad haircut, but Joanne was kind and knowledgeable and helped me through. She explained what I previously had done wrong with my hair and made sure to give me the best cut and products for my hair. She throughly explained each product and why she used it. Joanne also explained why my old products didn't work. She also had a ton of knowledge about the background of the ouidad cut. Salon Reaction and Joanne have a customer for life in me. Followed my Ouidad stylist to Salon Reaction- first appointment here and I was impressed. Great staff & beautiful salon. I discovered JoAnne on the Ouidad site last year. She is a very experienced stylist and really understands curly hair. If you have curls, you know a bad hair cut can be terrible - don't risk your curls- go see JoAnne. I started coming to this salon almost a year ago and I really love the service here. They do exactly what I want to my hair and I always leave happy. The place is really big inside with nice bright chair areas and a pretty reception area. They also donated a goody bag and gift certificate to a breast cancer benefit that was being held at my bar. I have been going to this Salon for 5+ years and have nothing but wonderful things to say. Tracy, the owner and manicurist, is always conscious of her clients and their needs/wants. The salon has been recently remodeled and Tracy's station is beautiful. Sleek and clean. My manicure are alway beautiful. Frank, co-owner, is my colorist/stylist. I've been a client of Michael's since he was attending beauty school and can honestly say I have never been more satisfied with my hair! He takes the time to really get to know what his clients want and what would work best for their style. I tend to be one who likes to change up my look and try new things. Michael's range is amazing. I have gone from light golden ombre, to dark brown and peek-a-boo "peacock" highlights and am always fully confident in Michael's visionary ability to produce a style that I will love. Went with a bridal party a week ago, tried to use the 20% off coupon the salon has on their website, but was told bridal parties were excluded. First of all, no where on the coupon does it say BRIDAL PARTIES EXCLUDED. That should have been told to us while we were booking our appointment. To be quite honest, the only reason the bridal party used this salon was because we were told to by the bride. The salon should be thanking us for the extra service, and in fact should grant the coupon. The manager told us we would be able to use the 20% off on another visit, but I will not be returning to this salon. I spent over $115 on hair and makeup which is extremely expensive. There is no reason the salon had to be so cheap and could not grant a $22 discount. If you are going with a bridal party, DO NOT USE THIS SALON. There are plenty of other hair salons in the Bucks County region which would be overjoyed to have the additional service. In addition, the website says bridal parties of 7 or more will get a 10% discount and snacks/breakfast. We only had 6 girls, so technically we shouldn't have even counted as a bridal party. They want to play word games? Ok...well here's my 3 word game for them DO NOT GO! read more
