Jila was an expert at blowing out hair as well. At the end she also cleaned up the cut to make sure that it was not too heavy in certain areas and that the split ends were gone. For reference, I have thick and dense hair. My hair was all in one length, and I was asking for a trim to remove split ends and a layered style. Also, I am Asian. I was drawn to this salon, because other reviews stated that they ventured to a non-Asian stylist to cut their hair and it looked good here. I can confirm that this is true.

I've been going to her for years for cut and color, and at this point I've come to know her almost as a friend. She's so easy to talk to, and I always enjoy catching up with her -- we even bonded over the same trash TV shows. She just makes the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. When my schedule didn't line up with hers, I started seeing Alyssa, who is also amazing. She's very energetic, outgoing, and fun to spend time with, and she's extremely good at what she does. She really takes her time with you, and I love that she does the wash herself and she gives a great head/neck massage, which makes the whole experience even better. Most recently, I saw Brielle when I couldn't get in, and she was wonderful as well. She is so sweet and gentle. I actually found myself nodding off while she was washing and blow-drying my hair after a long day, which says a lot about how relaxing the experience was. I typically get a cut and single-process color, and I've also had highlights done there in the past. They keep all of your color information on record, which is really helpful because you can confidently see any stylist and still get consistent results. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any stylist here. Everyone is skilled, welcoming, and easy to talk to. The salon itself has a very homey, comfortable feel, and the prices are reasonable, which makes it even better. I always leave happy and highly recommend this salon.

That was a big deal for me because they could have very well charged me full price since so much time and product was spent on my hair, attempting to get the outcome that I wanted. I went to Rocco's looking to color my hair a pastel purple (see photo). I have black Asian hair. My hairdresser went through the process of bleach, wash, dye, and wash and the purple did not show through at all. Even when blow dried, we could barely see the purple, like it was a hint of dark purple against my hair. It was frustrating to see and I was disappointed but was open to what my hairdresser would try next to bring the purple out to lighten it. She asked her colleague for advice in the back room and came back suggesting to apply toner to my hair, cook for a little and see what that would do. Well... She had to apply toner twice and even then it was still hard to see the purple after it was blown out. It actually looked more dark reddish purple. I was pretty disappointed and devastated seeing those results after 4 hours. But I will say my hairdresser was genuinely apologetic and asked for me to come back in a few weeks hoping the color will wash out and then she can redye it. She only charged me for the cut, wash, and products used which I was going to ask for anyway. I still tipped her generously because I know she tried. So aside from highlights, this was the first time I actually went to dye my hair and I'm disappointed that this was the outcome. The color of my hair looks nice but it wasn't what I was looking for at all. I'm sure they do a good job dying hair in general but it was not my experience.
