I originally went to Salon Tullio for hair color on a monthly basis for over a year for which I paid over $500 for each visit. On multiple occasions I was asked to be flexible and change my appointment to accommodate their schedule (usually at the last minute including a time I arrived for my appointment and the service provider decided not to show up as it was a powder day), which I did willingly despite my own busy schedule. Then, the one time my daughter was actually at home with a fever and a stomach bug, I was charged for having to change my appointment. This just happened again today when I had to change my blowout (with at least 5 hours' prior notice). I think if I am being asked to be flexible, it should flow in the other direction as well. My appointment on July17th was cancelled because stylist was sick . they graciously rebooked me for the next day. I provided formula info that has been used by me for many years. The colorist dyed my hair a red I have never been a redhead. I had her speak to my colorist back home. She tried to fix it,but did a terrible job. On their website they advertise same quality of service in Basalt then Aspen.... If this is true my review from my experience today in Basalt should be also shared here! See below as well as pictures attached (it is hard for me to post those pictures but I hope this can help someone to run!) I went to the Basalt salon for a Ombre on short brown hair and showed inspirations pictures prior to ensure we were on same page and what I asked was feasible. I was told from the stylist that it was not an issue and that she has been doing hair for many years. I wanted Ombre to avoid to have to do my roots every month. My hair ended up been Orange with lines.... Terrible results! (Forgot to take a picture of it) Mistakes can happen we are human after all so I let the stylist try to fix it. She seemed confident she could fix it without issues. The hairstylist tried to fixed it by doing highlights in blond and brown. The orange was gone but now I have terrible roots (picture attached) - looks like I have not been to a salon for 3 months! The color of the blond is not the same everywhere and some part are bright yellow. The entire experience lasted 5 (very long hours). At least I didn't pay for the service. After going home and looking in day light I really hated it and decided to call to have an other correction and blend those in more. I have a customer facing job and can't afford to look this way. They gave me an appointment for the following week. After hanging up the phone they called me back to let me know that I would have to pay for the correction!!! Making it look like they gave me a favor to not make me pay in the first place So they took an entire day of my time, processed twice my hair that now look unhealthy, messed-up my color and didn't do anything like what I requested and I need to pay to get this fix!!! I've been coming to Aspen for a few years now, and just found Salon Tullio. I first got a blow out. My hair is really long and sort of thick - and was 'struggling' with the altitude :) - and they did a great job. That gave me some confidence to later in the summer get my hair cut there. For my hair I was recommended Ana. She did an awesome job, actually better than home, and was also super nice. The salon itself was really cute too. It's a house (literally!) and inside its' bright with these big beautiful mirrors. I might come back for a manicure and pedicure before I go. :) Highly recommended! read more

Very unfriendly staff. My hair is ok but the bedside manner of my stylist was very off putting.

I am torn about writing a negative review here because I actually love Michael and Shelly and the receptionist is lovely. BUT, I had a bad experience there that I feel needs to be communicated. I am a local and have had a very hard time finding someone do my blond highlights. Crystal was recommended. She does Baliyage and I was told that she was the best. She was a very nice, pleasant person. I enjoyed my time with her. However, the highlights were NOT GOOD. I had been traveling and was about 1 month overdue on my highlights. Normally I have my hair done in Denver because I have had so many strike outs up here. Since I had been gone so long I didn't want to make another trip to Denver and I would have loved to find someone local. So I made an appointment with Crystal. The result was that now rather than having just a big root line, I now had a root line with stripes!! The root line was still very obvious!! In fact, it looked worse than just a regular root line. It was very ugly! Normally when I get highlights the root line is GONE! So, I gave it a couple days, washed it....sometimes it blends in. IT DIDN'T. Maybe if I had started with the method she used it would have been fine. But she told me it would be fine. So, I called and talked to the receptionist. She had Crystal call me. I told her what happened. She made an appointment for my to come in the next day to look at it. The next day she had the receptionist call me and cancel because she got too busy. She said that Crystal would have to call me back to reschedule when she had time. I guess she never had time! She never called. I paid $250.00 (or more....maybe even $275.00 - sorry, it's been a couple months)! I felt dissed!! Maybe she forgot, there is no way to know. But I had to walk about like that for 6 weeks so i didn't do too much damage to my hair and went back to my guy in Denver. read more

Worst mani / pedi in a long time. I left bleeding and feeling robbed. The nail tech was bragging about all the celebs she worked on the whole time, but I think she was just having acid flashbacks from the 60's. I had to redo 4 of my toes and one of my nails, but I was charged 80 for a "normal" mani / pedi, not even gel or shellac! I also brought my own polish which she spilled all over her hands during the appointment. Also to my horror, she thinned out my BRAND new nail polish by pouring polish remover in my NEW polish!!! So bad!! Aspen is pretty and all, but charging this much for a half assed job is illegal! PASS! read more

I have been going to Salon Tullio since 2007, Ana Belen has without fail given me the best haircuts I have ever had. Any time I am away from Aspen, all other haircuts are measured against what Ana does. She is really, really, experienced, takes her time, and gives you a nice blow dry and does not rush through anything. Also, Molly at the desk has been there for many years and is very competent and friendly. Tiffany at the desk is newer, but she is really nice, too. read more

The lack of reviews or good reviews in Aspen had me worried. Usually have a long beachy look for my thick and wavy hair since I just move from LA. Nan gave me a really flattering cut taking off a ton of weight and length. She updated a bit from the photo to match my natural hair and told me how to style. Best place to get eyelashes by Tara. She is the queen of eyelashes. And the most Amazing esthetician. Her ability to perfectly place each eyelash is the best ever. Your eyes pop with beauty and glamour when she does your eyelashes. They last for 3 weeks, and fills are not too expansive. Tara is the Queen of Eyelashes. Don't forget to get a facial first from her. She does eyebrow tinting too!!! read more

Rude service and overpriced- was not impressed with the space either. $150 for a trim. I complained about it and they told me they'd credit me $50 which I never got. They said- this is Aspen, you have to expect high prices. I am from Greenwich, CT/NYC area and the prices are not even that expensive there and customer service is better. Salon Tullio absolutely ruined my goddaughter's hair. The "stylist" even said sorry when they left because she knew she botched it. She dyed it a dark black (not what my goddaughter requested) and highlighted over top of that (?wth?) and left her under the dryers for over an hour. All the highlighted hair fell out and they couldn't blow dry her hair because more kept falling out. Then they had the nerve to charge them $600!!!! I am absolutely outraged. I got squeezed in for a color appointment. I have golden blonde hair definantly not bright blonde. I asked her to match my roots up to the color that had grown out. I went to Salon Tullio in Aspen on this Monday. I had blond hair and asked foe brown. The stylist Chris who was supposed to be dying my hair said that my hair is very damaged and he would use Wella Color Touch (semi-permanent) instead. As he said that it is healthier for my hair I agreed. My hair was well dyed in brown color though it seemed like he was talking to other clients while i was waiting for the color to be absorbed that when I asked how much longer it is needed to be on my hair he was not sure and said 2 minutes. Also when he was applying Wella onto my hair he took this huge wooden hairbrush and was brushing my head that it would hurt (though you are not allowed to apply any dying materials onto the damaged skin). I payed 125$, gave 20$ tip and left happy. On the same day I went to the Recreation center, was swimming in the pool and everything seemed great until the next day. On the following day I woke up with red marks all over my scalp, forehead and neck. I was surprised that I had such a reaction and came back to the Salon to take my 125$ back as I did not want to pay for an allergy. The owner argued saying that he has nothing to do with my allergy but gave 125$ back. Chris the hairdresser ran away when he saw me entering. The next day after that, I woke up to work at 5:30am and was terrified from the look in the mirror. My head became twice bigger as well as my ears. My head was swallowed and in pain. I was not sure what was happening so I went to work as usually, however because of pain and headache, I asked to leave to see the doctor. I came for the appointment at 11:00am though had to wait 40 minuted fr the doctor Check to see me, that is located in Snowmass Village. He was not tentative at all and streight away asked how was I going to pay 150$ for the appointment as my insurance from the visa sponsor was not suitable for his cabinet. As I was feeling terrible I just payed 150$ with my credit card though I had almost no money left. The doctor asked some basic stuff about my weight and height and where did I hear about his office. Finally when he looked at my head, neck and ears, he told me that the Benadryl and Hydrocortisone cream 1% where enough (that I had already bought i the pharmacy) and told me to buy Ibuprofen and take it 3 times a day and If it would not help in a week I would call him back. Unsatisfied and in pain I came back home and talked to my parents about my head swallowing even more and that I was feeling very bad. My parents persuaded me to go to the Emergency room. I listened to them and rushed for the bus. At that moment 2 days after I coloured my hair I was feeling terrible pain while steeping on each foot when walking and terrible allergic reaction all over my scalp. I was trying my best to cover it with my hair what was still possible at the time.When I entered the emergency room the doctors took me straight away as they were sure that my case could not be waiting any longer. At the beginning a few doctors who saw me thought that it was a chemical burn though they were not the experts, but clearly the condition I was in was very bad. When the doctor came to see me he stated that it was a bad allergic reaction to the colorant they used and they were supposed to try it on my skin before applying it onto my hair and scalp.As at that time I was even able to lay down because my head and neck were in a terrible pain and I could not move them, the doctor gave me the prescription for medication costing 120$ that were steroids, painkillers, and other medication for itching. I was given the bill of 870$ for the emergency, the money I did not clearly have as a person doing an internship in America. My next step was going to the pharmacy where I bought the medication for the last money I had.When I came back to Salon Tullio, I asked to speak to the owner about the emergency and when he entered reception and saw the bill he started shouting at me that I am some kind of a cheater who just wants to take more money from him (because he already refunded me 125$ before). I started crying and showed him the results of Chris's work after what he told two girls at the reception to write me the check of 870$ without even asking whether that was what I payed and If it was enough. Those two girls Molly and somebody else, where terribly rude to me and when I first called about the refund Molly even told me that I had to come back to the Salon to show it to the owner because she would not believe me. I got really upset and also the owner apologized for shouting at me and gave me that stupid check, Molly and the other girl tried to persuade me that it was my fault that I did not know that this product would cause an allergic reaction and told me that I should never dye my hair again, like if i could not figure it out myself. Next day my head got even worse and bigger, my eyes started swallowing and I am writing as I dont know what will happen next, I can barely open my eyes, dont go there read more

Definitely not impressed from the minute I walked in this salon. Took forever to even be acknowledged and when Nan the stylist came out she was obviously stressed out. Never asked my name or even tried to engage except for telling me she has another client she is working on so I may have to wait and that I should have told the front desk how much hair I had. Really!?!? I asked for some one who was good at blowing out curly hair they said she was great. The main reason I went their is they carry Kerastase and usually that means they are an upscale salon. This place needs a face lift. Definitely, not worth a $65.00 blow out....save your money! read more

This past spring I was got an uneven cut and then most recently I went in for a trim and came out with a haircut that I hadn't asked for and didn't flatter me.
