Next stop Deadwood; and, among all of the shops, bars, and restaurants, this was easily our favorite place to hangout. We stopped in early; and, my friends bought a couple of rounds; and, then later in the afternoon, for another round of drinks (I even had one); and, then again after dinner, to see the "show." Saloon #10 has an extensive Whiskey Bar, with almost 180 selections. We didn't try many; but, the few we did try were excellent; and, the bar staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. There are lots of interesting items to look at throughout the bar; it's like the "Hard Rock" of the old west, with all of the memorabilia strewn about. The "show" included a reenactment of the shooting of Wild Bill Hickock, which is a real treat - well acted, by locals; and, as historically accurate as can be made possible. Our day in Deadwood included shopping, drinking, eating, and a tour of town and the Boot Hill Cemetary. But, the highlight of the trip was Saloon #10. read more

This place was great! We visited this place twice while we were in the area on vacation. One night we saw the re-enactment of Wild Bill's murder and one night we listened to a live band. The live band was great and I wish it had been playing both nights that we were there. This place also has popcorn that you can help yourself to. One night while we were there we had dinner, which is available until 8:00. My husband and I split a brisket and cheddar sandwich, fries and onion rings. It was all awesome and a decent price. I gave an extra star because it was a bucket list item for me to drink whiskey where American icons from the Wild West drank. Outside of the historical appeal this place is pretty sad. The extremely limited food menu is almost as terrible as the food. And if you want a drink, go to the bar and see what's on sale because they price gouge you. Sorry the historical appeal doesn't justify the prices. read more

As far as original western bars go this one is in my top "ten". Servers were fun and efficient and they even had a reinactment of the famous Aces and 8s card game. I am not a whisky guy but had to have one straight up after seeing this place!! read more

Ohhhhh My God. This really is one of the best bars on the planet. Sawdust on the floor, so much history all over the walls, 4x daily there is a reenactment of Wild Bill's last poker game.... Everyone is so friendly, from the staff to the regulars to (most of) the tourists! one night we are at the restaurant upstairs which was delicious, but you can also get wraps and stuff in the bar. 8/12/20 during Sturgis 2:59pm Their were 4 of us. Avoid Server# 184 Shawna C, she is very rude. The four of us, we went for lunch and were told to come to the Saloon 10. So after placing our order we waited and waited so We stopped Shawna and asked about our meal, we told her it's been over an hours, she told us the kitchen is busy I don't know what to tell you. Almost 1 1/2 hr later. She brought our food. I stopped her after 15 mins receiving our food. I told her that my buffalo burger is rare not medium. She said that is medium and walked away. We asked for the manager, he came and we told him what happened, of course he apologized. I don't know if the buffalo burger was good or not. I didn't want to wait for another 1/2 hour to an hour to have them remake it. My husband and friends said their food was ok. When We were paying our bill, Shawna C. said "Thank you and have a Privileged day" So of course we asked for the manager again. read more

Made famous again by the TV show, Deadwood is a cool little town with a lot of history and character. Sure, they play the Wild West theme up and it's a total tourist destination, but it's a great one. Saloon No 10 boasts being where Wild Bill was killed, but so do at least two other spots that I can remember. Still, Saloon No 10 is a fun stop for a drink. There's multiple rooms, areas to gamble, poker tables, a few bars, food, and varied live entertainment. I didn't try any of the food, but with my beer in hand I did walk around through the rooms, tried a slot machine, and admired the Wild West and town memorabilia covering the dark wood walls. My Let's Go! guidebook mentioned the chair he died in was inside the bar, but we were unable to find out where it was, if it was there at all. The furniture is cool, but my favorite aspect was the sawdust on the floor. Not sure if it was there for puke, spills, or aesthetics, but it was clean when I got there and its aroma added to the atmosphere of the saloon. It helped make me feel like I was in a rustic old bar from the era it was channeling. If I'm ever back in town, I'll try some food and a game of poker. Dead Man's Hand anyone? read more

I was in town for a week long leadership event. My group stopped by Saloon No 10 three separate days for drinks and cards. The staff here was awesome. They allowed us to play a couple hands of of cards without betting so that everyone got to know the rules and how to play. They feature blackjack and different options of poker. The staff and dealers joked around with us and were engaging in conversations the entire time. This was a great spot full of history and featured a great staff. Drinks are reasonably priced and the whiskey bar has a huge assortment offered. I would recommend stopping in and checking out the great photos on the wall and explore the history of the bar. read more

Bouncer checking ID's was rude and lazy. Just sat on the bench out front while smoking a cigarette and was not not welcoming at all. Sat down on the first floor and waited 10 minutes for service just to find out that we have to go up stairs for food. The table was sticky/gross and the food was terrible. Alfredo had puddles of oil in it and the vegetables in the veg spaghetti were hard/chewy. Plus it was over priced, almost $9 for a whiskey and coke. Go to spearfish if you want good food/service. read more

Worst service ever. I waited tables through college to pay the bills. I know what good and bad service is. Fun environment...too bad the service was so bad. Ordered 6 wings, got 12. Asked for thousand island was told they didn't have it by waitress. And she seemed quite inconvenienced with any request. Seriously...isn't that her job. The food runner said they had thousand island and brought it to me. Waitress said well I guess they had it downstairs but they don't have it upstairs. Did not eat here, but did enjoy some frosty beers. Bartender was friendly and quick to keep the "cool ones" coming. This place is a reproduction of the original Saloon #10 and they do it up with lots of Wild Bill flair including a fun (if a guy's murder can be considered fun) re-inactment of his demise. Maybe better to describe as light-hearted. Anyway the crowd filed in to take in the brief show. Kids are welcome. Worth a visit for sure to witness the making of the "Dead man's hand." read more

Very nice place for a beer. The bar is unique is more like a old west museum with a bar in the middle, they have great show for free and the drinks are good and cheap. The upstairs restaurant was perfect, delicious and unique food. The service was fast and convenient. I'll go back for a dinner. read more

Had lunch here today. Hubby had the 50/50 burger. Though not what he expected (50% bacon mixed with 50% angus) it was a tasty burger. Save a few dollars and get the #10 Burger (what I had) plus double bacon. Beer Cheese Soup was nice. Salad fresh. Seems like lots to do here - reenactment of the famous Buffalo Bill shooting, gambling. If you don't want burgers...maybe just something small to nosh on, eat downstairs, otherwise you can go upstairs to Deadwood Social Club. read more

No 10 is another cool vintage bar on the Deadwood strip. We stopped in for a drink and had a sea breeze cocktail with friends. We chatted with the bartender for a while and shared our funny history with the sea breeze. She was so interested in our story and was just a pleasure to interact with. read more

Very cool place. Ok so you need to see the reinactment in the basement where Wild Bill was actually shot. This costs you. The street shows are free and just an opportunity for you to get a taste of the actual shows that you pay for. The saloon is quaint and it is historic but know it's not the ACTUAL saloon but the "spot" where he was shot as there was a fire previously that destroyed so much of the town including the actual building he was shot in. read more

Not the actual bar where Mr. Hitchcock was shot and killed but it's a really fun, old west bar in town down Deadwood and playing cards and poker here has an amazing feeling like your back in time. The memorabilia that's on the walls and the story that the bartenders and dealers tell about the town are fascinating. In reading all the reviews it seems people like the atmosphere of the old west but almost everyone comments on the people and service working their. Rude, arrogant and self important seems to be what they say. Maybe that's their marketing angle; to be rude, abrupt and unfriendly.
