We have been bringing our daughter to ballet/tap class for a couple of months now and love it…read more Because of her age when she started, we had the option of trying Parent & me class and ballet/tap since we were mostly interested in ballet. Daughter loved ballet/tap and we enrolled her. So far we are very happy with the classes and how structured everything seems, even for the youngest dancers. Studio is always a text message away and they send several emails during the week to keep us updated with any changes. I have to add that studio takes feedback well and are always eager to help. They are also very strict with how classes go which I appreciate since toddlers need that structure and strictness. My daughter loves her classes and looks forward to each one. Looking forward to a year of more dancing for our little one!

Let's start with the less good- here's what I didn't know going in to Arthur Murray when we bought a Living Social- they are the most expensive of the many different brands teaching Ballroom dancing. That said, they are very very well established and have an excellent reputation in the global dance world. The per lesson price is higher than what I've seen else where but we got hooked on our instructors here and ended up staying. The sales pitches aren't my favorite but this studio does offer specials more often than other Arthur Murray studios and the prices at the Florida studios are less than they are in other markets. That said, the instructors I've had here for group lessons have been fantastic- all of them, even with the staff changes over the years. Our private instructor Frankie is amazing and we have had so much fun dancing with him over the years. He has choreographed our wedding dance and a few showcase dances. The other students here are really friendly and it feels like a family. We moved from the area and still come back monthly for lessons because Arthur Murray Winter Park is really a home away from home for us at this point. My husband and I wanted a hobby we could do together and while we've spent a LOT of money on it over the years, it's been worth every penny. There will always be more to learn. Ballroom dance isn't easy but the instructors here have been patient and have worked with us endlessly on technique, form and we've learned at least ten different types of dances at this point (rumba, cha cha, swing, hustle, tango, fox trot, west coast swing, salsa, bachata, merengue, bolero, waltz, viennese waltz, samba line dance...). There's more they teach too- there are always more steps and things to work on. The possibilities are endless. We've had a lot of fun with the Friday night parties (social dancing), the non dancing events, and costume contests over the years in addition to our lessons. Overall, if you're serious about learning to ballroom dance, I'd recommend Arthur Murray and specifically Arthur Murray Winter Park!

She is highly trained, extremely knowledgeable about all types of dance. Her method for teaching ballroom to couples is hands on, hour long classes and in a private studio - no one else is allowed on the floor. She teaches all methods of ballroom dance including salsa, foxtrot, rumba, and the waltz. From leading the female to dancing with the male and teaching him how to lead, she is super talented and easy to learn from. Her prices are reasonable ($50/class for a couple) and she has time slots available each week in the evenings. Olivia is passionate about dancing and even became emotional when she read a few of her poems to us. A wide selection of classes are offered, Tango, Cha-Cha, Swing, Samba, Waltz, Hustle, Foxtrot etc. They offer monthly dance celebrations that are well attended and other special dances where you can practice your new found dance skills. One of the techniques they use to teach is a graduation dance at the end of the 8 weeks. This is a really helpful and excellent teaching tool! Every week, the instructor introduces a new step and by the end of 8 weeks each student has mastered all the 8 steps. Now all you have to do is roll those steps out on a real dance floor. That happens when the class attends the Graduation Dance! Everyone dances the learned routine in front of a live audience and a graduation diploma is provided. This is when it all gets real! There is a mix of singles, couples and various age groups, every class is different. Some people are looking for a dance partner, others love, or to enrich an existing relationship and have some fun by meeting new friends. The best part of Nannette's classes is all the fun you'll have and the fabulous students you'll meet. I've met some wonderful people and many have become great dance friends! Ballroom dancers know how to have a fun time! They even have experienced students fill in a class if there is an uneven mix of men vs women. I have found the assistants to be very helpful and patient. You rotate dance partners so you get to experience dancing with multiple partners. Believe me this is the way to go! You learn faster by dancing with a variety of partners. Besides, you can practice dancing with your partner at home. Dancing with others keeps you from killing your spouse. Lol. At the beginning of each 8 week class they provide a syllabus of what will be taught and a video of the dance steps in available on line. Learning to ballroom dance is not easy but like most things that are worthwhile, it takes good instruction and lots of hard work and practice. Nannette obviously teaches many classes. She also has very capable dance instructors, Dale, Cathy and Jeannie who have been dancing and teaching for years. All are fabulous instructors and so is Nanette. One of the wonderful surprises I've experienced is something I never expected. Now, when my wife and I go to a wedding or out social dancing, people actually stop and watch us roll out our dance moves. Many, ask us where we learned to dance and compliment us on our smooth moves. Nice. All that said, if you want to learn Ballroom Dancing in "O Town" this is the place to go!

Only to find out that our child felt uncomfortable in the class. We lived in Baldwin and thought it would be silly not to checkout Dance 360. We are so happy we made that decision. Dance 360 instructor's are positive and work hard to foster a positive environment. Most importantly they meet your little dancer where they are at! We like the standard weekly classes but there is an opportunity to audition for their "company". The staff is so kind to the children and love on them as soon as they come through the doors. We are especially grateful for Ms. Jennie their ballet instructor who makes every child feel especially heard.
