My daughter has been dancing with Central Florida Irish Dance for the past 4 years and went from a shy beginner dancer to a World Champion dancer. Ms. Sarah is extremely dedicated to her students. She choreographs their dances to help meet the specific abilities and strengths of each of her dancers. With Central Florida Irish Dance you don't just get dance class, the students learn about the Irish Culture. They learn to speak Gaelic, learn to comprehend the movements of their dances, learn to work together in team dances. When the pandemic hit and all of Central Florida Shutdown in March, Ms. Sarah immediately went to work and switched all of her classes over to Virtual classes. The students never missed a class because of Covid-19. Ms. Sarah held classes 6 days a week during quarantine, and offered weekly fun incentives to keep the children motivated and engaged. My daughter's bright spot during all of quarantine was being able to go in our living room and put on her shoes and continue to train as if we were in-studio. Once restrictions were lifted Ms. Sarah worked tirelessly to make sure she was able to host in-person summer camps because she knew that her students needed that sense of normalcy. She limited camp sizes and adhered strictly to CDC guidelines, all temperatures were checked, masks were required, social distancing was required. My daughter is learning so much more than dance with Central Florida Irish Dance. She is given the chance to be a team dancer and learning how to work together in a team. She has learned what it is like to win and to loose and to be proud of those that win. She is given opportunities to give back to society, in the Winter we donated dolls to cancer patients in Ireland. She has life long friends right here Florida but also that live in other countries and other states. With Central Florida Irish Dance you are getting more than just a dance class. You are getting a family and your child is getting friends. Central Florida Irish Dance is part of the An Chomhdhail organization of Irish Dance. This branch of Irish Dancing is smaller in the US and with that when you go to a competition (Feis) you are with "family" where everyone knows everyone and it is like a giant family reunion every few months. read more

Our journey with Miss Sarah and Central Florida Irish dance started 8 years ago when my now 10 yr old took Miss Sarah's hand and was led on stage to learn a tiny little step. My daughter was barely 2 yrs old and from that moment was captivated by Miss Sarah. Once she turned 4 I started sending her to CFIDs summer camps. When she turned 5 she started Irish dance at a studio in GA which unfortunately closed its local location after only 1 yr there. My daughter was devastated. I called Miss Sarah and she said if I could bring her to FL once a month she would teach her via Skype the rest of the month! My daughter was elated! She went from a beginner dancer knowing only a couple dances to a competitor in just a few short months. Three years later both my daughters take Irish Dance with Miss Sarah. Last fall there was a request for Irish dance in my local area and I was able to arrange with Miss Sarah and the owner of the dance studio I teach at to start an Irish Dance class in Augusta GA. With having 20 yrs of Irish Dance experience I was thrilled to join the Central Florida Irish Dance staff as an associate Instructor. Miss Sarah virtually teaches dance from FL to the GA students and travels to GA for workshops and summer camps! This is an amazing school of Irish dance and Sarah Costello is one of the most reliable, agreeable, professional dancers I have ever worked with. I have taught with her and seen what a great example she sets for the young people in her classes. The students learn valuable skills they will take with them beyond the dance world. And they will be trained to be better performers in real life situations, rather than only winning a competition. I have been a professional musician/performer/ band leader/ and producer of world music shows for nearly 30 years at Disney and numerous other venues in Central Florida, Nashville, and around the world. I have rarely worked with such an efficient and pleasant performer as Sarah and I always know if she is on the gig, I have nothing to worry about. My daughters danced Irish dance previously and when we moved to Florida, we had to find a new school. We came across Sarah and Central FL, my oldest took the free trial class and that's all it took.
