We had a nice meal on the road here. The chips were tasty and fresh, as was the rest of the food. The guacamole was just ok, but acceptable.

Finally came here for once when we were on this side of town - with the traffic and construction as…read moreof this review it's pretty wild out there off Emory rd! Anyway, going to give this a 3.75/5. The cheese dip, which is the favorite of the table (and our son) was not fully heated and seemed like it was missing something. Not sure. The rest of the food was generally good and cooked to order. The staff was friendly and quick to respond to anything we needed. The inside looked clean from the walk and sitting area we observed from. The parking lot was really bumpy through the entrance we came in - not their fault of course, just take the one entrance just past it and double back. If you have a kiddo just FYI we learned the high chairs were barely big enough for our 2.5 YO (he's roughly 30 lbs) - you may want to bring a booster or try to sit in a booth with them to the wall. We'll probably give it one more go to support something other than the 15 burger joints going up Emory, lol. SYOY!

A solid Mexican spot! We dined here with some friends on a Saturday night and had a great time. My…read morefriend had the sangria special and my husband had a beer. Both were tasty! The service was friendly and prompt and the menu has so many options. They have the classics along with some unique dishes that you won't find at every standard Mexican restaurant. I went with my usual order, the pollo con queso. It was delicious and the portion was big enough to split. My husband had the birria tacos and enjoyed them as well! It was his first time trying birria and he said they were flavorful and something he'd order again. We all had a wonderful evening and will definitely return!

First, I thought I had reviewed them already-- so if I do two, that's why…read more I'm giving this 5 stars relating it to other SIMILAR places-- that is, Mexican restaurants within a grocery store--- i.e. more limited menu (although their's is pretty broad), not full bar-service (but they have beer), and not fancy. For what it is-- it is really scrumptious. I had a few tacos, a ceviche tostada and a beer. BIG lunch-- I took one taco home. All the items were really chock-ful of meat. The carnitas on that taco was way too much to be able to pick up the taco with it all inside. They had a good mix of onions and cilantro on them, although I'd have preferred to add my own (I LOVE cilantro). I wish it was nearer; I'd go back often.

The salsa and chips--- First bite tasted like tomato paste to me, very tangy and had a kick of spice. Chips were warm. No Guacamole!!!! What Mexican place has no guac? Chimichanga de pollo-- Shredded chicken with some onions, peppers and covered in cheese sauce. Fajitas mixta-- Steak was a little tough and chicken was very thin slices. Lacked some spices. More onions, green peppers and tomatoes than meat. It wasn't bad, but for our taste we have had better. The whole meal lacked spices. Would we recommend? Yes, give it a try, you might like it. Salsa is good but it's too tomato pastey for us.

Found this place after missing two places traveling through Knoxville. So happy we did…read more It's a small rustic place, very casual. It actually has a small grocery store in the back. The service is amazing and the staff is very friendly. Gives you a family owned feeling. We started with the Papusa's. So fresh and tasty. The masa was delicious and they were very cheesy. I could've ate this for the entire meal. I had the fried chicken on top of plantains covered in cabbage and tomatoes with salsa and drenched in a fantastic tangy crema. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Jacob had the same as I, but with beef. The ground beef was so tasty. I could eat here every week. I have never had Honduran food before, so I don't know if I can say the following statement. But, I felt like grandma was in the back making a real authentic family meal.

But, if…read moreone looks past the informality, one would see a place where workers and families stop on for some tasty, home style South American food. I picked up a burritas hondureñas, which was like a corn tortillas sandwich filled with meat, eggs, beans, cheese, and avocado. It was good but the hot sauce on the table kicked it up a notch. The papusas were everything one could want and more. Cheesy, thick, and topped with a tangy curtido. I left feeling pleasantly plump and happy to see a place like this on my quick trip through Knoxville.
