Me thanking Porton for amazing Mexican food!
    Glen C.

Wow, west Knoxville is very blessed to have this secret hideaway Mexican restaurant! I live in Bristol but came here to buy a motorcycle. As I'm waiting, I'm enjoying the tastiest food & being served by the friendliest workers! And the place is cozy & clean. Great job, Porton

My friend recommended this place so we went after church today. They had people spread out but they also accommodated larger groups if you were all together which we appreciated. Sometimes it is hard to go out even as a family if you have a lot of people. I got the pick 3 things for myself and my kids. The Chile Relleno was amazing. I got a cheese enchilada for my daughter and a taco for my other daughter and ate the Chile relleno myself. I almost wished I had gotten 3 Chile Rellenos. I had eaten queso (which was good too) and chips and salsa prior so I was okay but man, it was delicious. The servers were very nice and the food was good. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant near our house. We will be back.

    Birria Tacos and Mexican Corn

Some of the best birria tacos in the area!! The meat was melt in your mouth perfect and the cheese at the bottom of the tortilla was ooey gooey! They also had some of the best Mexican corn we have had since moving from TX. Service was fast and friendly and it was priced well. The only complaint I had was the salsa was a little bland and some of our food needed a hit of salt. Other than that, pleasantly surprised with this place!

This was definitely a top notch experience. We were created with a smile at the door. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our server checked on us throughout our meal. We didn't have a chance to ask for extra napkins, more chips, water or e en a to-go box. This is definitely a hidden gem. We wanted to go some where less crowded and this spot was perfect. The decor made me feel like I was in Mexico. The seats are super comfortable and the tables are covered with the same leather material. The Mexican corn was like none other. It was literally "no kernel left behind" good. Our meals were delicious! The portion sizes were large and our dinner was inexpensive. We will definitely be back.

These two words should make you come try this place out, Mango Margaritas! Ok I just thought of another two words that should convince you to come too, street corn! Ahhh, I love it when Mexican restaurants include authentic Latin food items on the menu. Margaritas were amazing, street corn, tacos were too. I will back to try the chicharrones!

All were delicious, but I would come back for the BigShrimpin' taco. If you like buffalo sauce and blue cheese, it worked so well with the crispy fried shrimp. Yum! Started with salsa & chips. The chips came out warm and the salsa (both green and red) tasted soooo fresh. You can tell everything is made in house. I had steak fajitas for my main course and I'm not exaggerating when I say they were the best fajitas I've ever had! The steak was extremely flavorful and juicy. It came with hot tortillas and all the toppings you could want. My husband ordered 3 tacos (codfather, big shrimpin & tators gonna tate). All were amazing! The service here was also exceptional. The food came out shockingly fast and sooner than expected. The staff was kind and attentive. Bartender Maddie was excellent! This place really exceeded my expectations and will be a regular stop when we're in town. 10/10 Chico love u

First, I thought I had reviewed them already-- so if I do two, that's why…read more I'm giving this 5 stars relating it to other SIMILAR places-- that is, Mexican restaurants within a grocery store--- i.e. more limited menu (although their's is pretty broad), not full bar-service (but they have beer), and not fancy. For what it is-- it is really scrumptious. I had a few tacos, a ceviche tostada and a beer. BIG lunch-- I took one taco home. All the items were really chock-ful of meat. The carnitas on that taco was way too much to be able to pick up the taco with it all inside. They had a good mix of onions and cilantro on them, although I'd have preferred to add my own (I LOVE cilantro). I wish it was nearer; I'd go back often.

The salsa and chips--- First bite tasted like tomato paste to me, very tangy and had a kick of spice. Chips were warm. No Guacamole!!!! What Mexican place has no guac? Chimichanga de pollo-- Shredded chicken with some onions, peppers and covered in cheese sauce. Fajitas mixta-- Steak was a little tough and chicken was very thin slices. Lacked some spices. More onions, green peppers and tomatoes than meat. It wasn't bad, but for our taste we have had better. The whole meal lacked spices. Would we recommend? Yes, give it a try, you might like it. Salsa is good but it's too tomato pastey for us.
