Hours say they are open until 9pm. We walked in at 8:28 and they said "kitchen closes at 8:30" and refused to serve us. Went down the road to Colton's and they were happy to serve us even though they also close at 9. If you won't serve after 8:30 then make your hours say you close at 8:30. Your closing time should reflect when you stop serving, not when you expect everyone to leave (like a NORMAL restaurant) read more

I recently relocated to Harrison on a 7 month type of deal from Dallas. Was shocked to find that no one has a frozen margarita.... Except Salsa's!! Drinks are potent and there is a wide variety of options. Lots of Tequila to pick from too if you're going on the rocks. Food is definitely good for Harrison. I've been here at least 10 times and my absolute favorite is the Queso. I'd also highly recommend the Tamale Bites on the Appetizer menu. If you're needing something more filling go with the Pollo Tapatio minus the bacon. It's a Pandemic at the time of this post so be patient with the staff, who have always been very good to me, tip well, and enjoy the Mexican food. The nachos were terrible. The water from the lettuce was floating on the bottom of the plate. The "table side guacamole arrived in a bowl chunked up and was never prepared "tableside". The margarita looked like an icee when I was about halfway through with it. When the server asked how everything was I told him it was terrible. We had taken a couple of bites and pushed our plates to the end of the table. He asked if I wanted another nacho and I told him no. I had lost my appetite at this point. When he brought our check he had charged me for everything. I told him that was unacceptable so brought the manager over. The manager told me that I was expected to pay for everything because I had refused a replacement. He then said he did not give a shit and told me to get out. When I asked if he was serious the server told me he was going to call the police. Absolutely stunned. I left and took my losses. read more

Decided to have after a day of driving around the scenic roads of Highway 7. We had the Carnitas and Molcajete. The Carnitas were moist and good, the molcajete was just ok. They used to have superb food but recently they have been subpar. read more

I could not be happier to tell you we were utterly surprised how pleased we were with this restaurant! It was clean, Amanda was friendly, the prices low, margarita smooth & strong then the food....I live in Texas & let me tell you this place out did all my local places back at home! Chips crisp AND fresh; salsa fresh AND "homemade", the Spanish rice I can't wait to go back for the queso creamy, delicious AND not velveeta! The entrees were terrific too & the portions large. They have a Goliath burrito which we didn't order but when they brought the one ordered we asked twice if it was, the enchiladas were delicious mine had grilled chicken on top---yum!!! The menu had so much to choose from & I can't wait to go back-which we do 1-2 times a year-also they have a Buffett certain nights, I wish I could have tried that also desserts that are handmade fresh as well. Came back for a 4th time on a Saturday evening at around 7pm and waited for over 5 minutes to be seated while staff was in the back talking and laughing at what ever they were talking about. Restaurant had many dirty/uncleaned tables (8+ tables and booths) and we just finally left. Did not see the friendly lady their, so perhaps it was the second rate management working. However, with the many choices for Mexican restaurants, we will not return. I wish them well but they may need to look at the lazy weekend staff. ZERO STARS. VERY DIRTY. read more

this is hands down the best mexican restaurant in Harrison. our dinner here was fantastic; the guacamole was delish and the drinks were incredible. it's worth coming here for the margaritas alone considering this is the only mexican restaurant in town with alcohol. our waitress suggested the cheesecake dessert and i'm glad we indulged. overall great food, great service, great drinks! read more

omg! yuk!!! Margaritas were the WORST I've ever had!! They had like no tequila, and some very sweet lime juice. We sent a pitcher back, and they came back some neon green color, as opposed to the natural color of a margarita. They we undrinkable. The food....I had a steak ranchero... worst meal Ive ever had. My girlfriend and I were really craving Mexican food and our usual restaurants were closed, so we decided to go to Salsas which we hadn't been to in a long time. We walk in as a huge group is deciding to leave because of an hour wait. We come into the room And see several empty tables needing to be busted, no greeter anywhere near the door, wait staff and management looking dazed and confused not even acknowledging the large crowd waiting by the door. Slowly people start to filter out without ever being spoken to by an employee. One couple had been waiting over 30 minutes when there were tables available! Not a good first impression. Maybe it was just an off day, but we won't be back anytime soon. read more

Not impressed what so ever! Im a server so good service is a make or break for me and it was lousy here! The food was good and they did have liquor and beer which is new to the town so that was a plus. Our waiter never refilled our water. We also wanted another round of drinks and dessert but weren't asked just had a plastic check book slapped down. During the entire meal we seen our waiter watching soccer in the middle of the restaurant instead of attending to us his only table. He never asked how the food was, never brought more chips, never offered anything really. When we got our abrupt check that cut our dessert and drinks short he charged us for 3 dinners and there was only 2 of us. AWFUL SERVICE, VERY NEGLECTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! This place has some of the worst service. The food was average, but the service killed it for me. I took my wife on a date here one night and they sat us right under a TV playing pro-wrestling. It was so loud that we couldn't talk to each other over the insults screaming. We asked the server if he would turn it down and he told us he lost the remote. I guess it is permanently that loud. Then we asked if he would let us move and he asked a manager. The manager said, "Sure, let them move." He said it in spanish, and my wife speaks spanish, so it was quite surprising when he told us we couldn't move. We told him we speak spanish and so he moved us. After wrestling was over they found the remote and turned down the TV. The rest was uneventful but I will not be returning to Salsa's. read more

Horrible. Waitress defecated in the restroom and left the restroom with out washing her hands. The pico is made with Jalapeno but it is does not state that. Stephanie a different waitress from ours became loud and hostile about my concern over the lack of the menu showing it. Didn't eat the plate because of it. Charged full price. Funny experience here: My family and I ate here tonight since we were staying in Harrison & my sister wanted Mexican food and a Bloody Mary. My parents, brother, and I were all indifferent, so it was fine with us. We chose this Mexican restaurant because one of the reviews said it served alcohol, and it did. All of us ordered margaritas except my sister. I went to the bathroom, came back, and found that the waitress came back to say they didn't make Bloody Marys. I busted up laughing, of course, because she was so set on a Bloody Mary. Anyway, chips and salsa came, and they had that done well. We all got our own containers with carafes filled with salsa. Good idea. Margaritas came, they were fine. Food came, I enjoyed mine, as did my sister and brother, but my mom detested it and my dad was indifferent, but everyone agreed it was a bit too salty. IMO, its a typical Mexican restaurant so don't get excited, but also don't be too harsh. Decent food, fine service, and for me, a particularly funny evening. read more

Went for a late lunch while out of town. Ordered from the lunch menu, which includes a drink, what a plus! The service was good and the atmosphere was as well. Took the kids to eat here after school for an early supper. It was around 330-4:00 and there was no one else eating. The waitress was in a huge hurry to get our order, I later realized it was because she was getting off work...understandable though I though someone else could have taken over for her. There were two full size cardboard cutouts of women in bikinis with beer which is just tacky to me. I was taking my kids out to eat dinner, not going to a bar, I thought. My bad I guess Salsa is more of a sports bar atmosphere. One guy sat at a table and watched a game the whole time. I heard a bell ding and the guy in charge continued watching the game with him for about a minute before he decided to go back and get our food. He finally refilled my water after being empty for a long time, but we never did get a refill on our chips and we bought cheese dip. The prices were higher than other places I have eaten in town. The kicker for me was my daughter's corn tortilla on her enchilada was so hard and rubbery I literally could not cut through it. The guy in charge finally grudgingly came to our table after I tried to get his attention and brought her another enchilada which was much better. I ordered the Quesadilla Fajita and it was quite greasy but was good. My son's $5 burger and fries kids meal was edible but the burger was from a frozen patty and for that price I expected a real burger like the other Mexican place in town. So, the food was ok and he did fix the problem. The customer service and atmosphere was crappy and I will not be eating here again. read more
