Awesome craft beer bar with love music and service that vibes a legit local scene in Galway Ireland! Though a little dive-ish and small, it's definitely a cool spot if you want a solid pint and good times!!

Cool place with a wide selection of beers. A local bartender mentioned this place while we were asking what to check out. We were able to get a flight to try different ones. A flight of 4 beers costs 6 euro. Tried a helles lager, west speedball stout, haze cider and an Irish red ale. My friend tried the green zebra and Radler which I'll probably have pints of tonight. They had a selection of games to play as well.

What a small treat in Galway! It is located near the river right downtown, no taxi needed if you are in the central part of town. I honestly expected an average bar, but was surprised to see such a huge variety of beer and wine! Not only did they have a huge selection, the bartender was very knowledgeable and was even familiar with local breweries near Sonoma County. Being a popular spot and all makes it quite difficult to find a opentable and or seat at the bar. I was there on the weekend and it was quite packed, but eventually found a spot at the bar after a few minutes. Ordered a few beers that were local brews and they were quite delicious and well worth the reasonable price! Speaking of pricing, I'd say the bar/pub does a great job at making most of what they serve very affordable and not too overpriced for tourists like myself. Always nice to spend time at a bar as well when the locals are extremely friendly and willing to chat it up about various other sites to see and visit. If you are ever in the area, I would definitely suggest stopping by and spending some time at the Salt House and experience some of the local brews and various other global alcoholic beverages they offer.

Delicious beers and wonderful service. Nice craft brewery feel. Great ambience, free tasters from an informed bar tender. Good prices

This is a small little tucked away Irish pub on the streets of Galway. We walked in and were greeted with an extremely warm welcome by the bartenders. I walked in and instantly felt at home here. This place has a great atmosphere. The bartenders are friendly and so are the customers. It was super laid back here. There were lights hanging and pub and beer stickers plastered all over the walls with a dim lighting. There's a wide variety of beers to choose from and even some board games that are passed around to play while enjoying your time at the pub. My fiancé surprised me with a small celebration here by announcing our engagement to the entire pub and bought a round of pints for everyone in the pub. We had gotten engaged the day before and this was such a special moment. Some patrons even wrote us a nice note and the bartenders were awesome about helping him out with this. This place will always hold a special place in my heart. If you're looking for a relaxed laid back pub with great beer then this is the spot for you. I recommend stopping here for a beer while in Galway!

Small little tucked away place that has a great Irish pub feel to it. We came here to celebrate my fiancé and my recent engagement. It had a great atmosphere that is laid back. Pub and beer stickers plaster the walls with dim lighting. There are also board games you can play to pass the time. There is a wide variety of beers to choose from with a variety of types to please everyone. Honestly what made this place special was the bar tenders. They are upbeat energetic and make you feel like a friend. The are very outgoing and will strike up a conversation about anything. I told them about a bucket list item of mine, to buy a round for the patrons at a Irish pub. They assisted in the matter and were really pumped about the idea. They even helped facilitate it. It was a great turnout and some patrons even wrote us a note. This place will always remain special to my fiancé and I. But after a long travel and you need a place to rest and kick back I highly suggest this place!

Steven is the best bartender. Awesome selection of beers. He is very knowledgeable about all the beers. Galway knows the way when it comes to IPA!! Salt House in Galway. Very friendly to Yanks like us. Cheers!! Gina and Darry

Galway Bay Brewery pub. And this is a proper drinkers pub with Snacks as the only food option. I have got time for a pub meal from time to time but this is the kind of place for people who take their beer drinking seriously. My respect for a brewery increases massively when they are not scared of lining up other excellent beers against their own brews. And they don't need to be scared because their own beers are first rate: Full Sail and Of Foam and Fury being my personal recommendations! Oh and you can get a taster tray if, like me, you are wondering how you are going to be able to try all the beers that you want to. The bartender knew his stuff and it was interesting to talk through the options with him. This great venue was improved by their great taste in music. A wonderful chilled soundtrack for a lazy afternoon

Salt House is a cozy bar with a great selection of beers on tap and even has some games to play. They feature beers from Galway Bay Brewery, which are absolutely amazing. I highly recommend stopping in for a pint (or two).

This is the place to go to enjoy your beer. I mean really enjoy it. If you, like many others before us, have realised that Heineken actually doesn't taste that nice and there are a lot of seriously tasty beers out there, then you must take a trip to this place. It's very cozy, nice atmosphere, the bar staff are all lovely and pretty cool. They have a fridge full of bottles (including a nice selection of Brew Dog), plenty of interesting brews on tap and they normally have a kind of a "Beer of the Month" on tap so there's always something new to try. There's a really cool session band that plays there too on Sundays around 7ish.

Not being au fait with the prevelance of craft brewers in Ireland I've no idea how many there are in need of greater recognition but the Salt House certainly is doing it's bit for some of them as it has stepped beyond the general trend of Irish pubs to have only lagers, Guinness & Smithwick's on tap and Corona, Bulmer's etc. in the fridges and instead stocks locally brewed ales & porters in both bottled and draught forms. There is also an extensive range of bottled brews from around the world. This being Ireland though you'll need to bear in mind that quite a lot of the products on offer are pricier than you'd find in similar establishments in the UK (& Erdinger, at prices in double figures, must be exceptionally heaviliy taxed on import or something). All things considered though proper beer lovers should make the trip here. read more

Any true beer geek visiting Ireland with an expectation to try small batch or micro-brews is going to be disappointed. The atmosphere is enjoyable in the traditional pub but the beer selection is pretty much the same wherever you go, unlike England where every town has their own special bitter on the hand pull. This is slowly changing in Ireland and the Salt House is a terrific place for craft beer of every description including American IPAs, regional micro brews and the locally produced Galway Bay Brewing. It is a small place but friendly staff and good mix of locals and visitors. When I am in town I always drop by on a Sunday evening to hear the roots music (not Trad). Nothing to eat beyond snack mix but plenty of excellent restaurants and pizza within easy walking distance. read more

This bar is features Galway Bay Brewing beers. We ordered several flights and enjoyed pretty much all of the offerings. All beers were pretty well brewed to style, with the Black IPA and the Chocolate Milk Stout being the highlights. read more

Beer selection was great. However, the bartender was downright rude. NOT your usual friendly place as every other pub we visited was welcoming. read more
