I had a very good experience today with Brooke, one of their salespeople. She spent a good amount of time to fine-tune and find the perfect shoes for me. And to top it all off, they were 30% off. It is so nice to go into a locally-owned stores with salespeople who aren't afraid to spend 30 minutes with one customer just to make sure we're happy. I'll gladly spend a little extra at one of these shops instead of rock-bottom prices and horrible service.

Specialties "At the Wasatch Running Center we specialize in helping runners and walkers. We offer a Fitting Process including a Gait Analysis and evaluation of your feet on an individual basis using our experienced, trained, and knowledgeable staff. We take the time to make sure you are in the right shoes and the right fit for your feet. Our goal is Happy Feet so You Can Meet Your Goals." The above is the stated goal of Wasatch Running Center. I received none of this during my visit. I went to Wasatch Running Center upon the recommendation of my Podiatrist after being diagnosed with falling arches and tendon inflammation. Huge mistake! I assumed they would have the skill to help me select the shoes from the 3 brands recommended by the Dr. which were the best fit for my feet. Not so... The clerk brought out the shoes and left me to my own fitting and testing. The Dr. also recommended an orthotic insole which I tried on with the shoe. The clerk didn't have me remove the brand insoles and replace with the orthotic one. Hence, two insoles do not a good fit make. I guess I should have known better but I'm not in the Running/Walking shoe business. I have had the shoes for less than 2 months and as you can see the right shoe has a hole in it. Left shoe is fine. I went in today and was told they "see this all the time" and "you're taking them off wrong" implying I was using my left foot to push them off. Because of the lacing technique used I cannot take them off without significantly loosening the laces yet the clerk insisted it was my fault. There are a couple of other places where seams on the shoes are open and starting to come undone but the clerk wouldn't even look at them. They told me there was nothing they could do...and suggested I could try to contact the Brooks company. In going to the Wasatch Running Center I was hoping to get the expert service they pride themselves on. I didn't receive that expert care! I wish I would've purchased these at Scheels or Nordstrom's. They at least stand behind the products they sell. I would have paid the same price but would have had far superior customer service. My experience at Wasatch Running Center is one of the WORST customer service experience I've ever had at a "specialty store". Considering their goal "Happy feet so you can meet your goals" it was a HUGE failure. Not only do my feet hurt in different places than before as the fit was poorly done, but I paid $150 for a pair of shoes that are falling apart. I will never again trust my feet to "so-called" experts at Wasatch Running Center.

Employee is offered help and was friendly. I was looking for a specific color of socks and they didn't have it. She offered to order them.

I have bought from this store: dream catchers, scrubbing brush, dog waste bags, balloons, birthday stuff, basket, wall decor, mirrors, kitchen supplies, etc. If you search around there is stuff you can play with and organize your bedroom or house. They sell lots of different boxes for organization. That's been great for me getting organized. I sometimes get candy but I try to stay away from their food knock offs.

The managers should tell panhandlers to leave, or call the police on them.

Again, would love to buy all of them and then somehow find time to play them all. Figurines, die cast cars, outdoor toys, collectables, of course Lego sets, etc. etc. etc. Such great inventory. Stuff you can't find anywhere else. They have a frequent buyers program, too, to earn points and discounts. They do kid workshops. I recently took my granddaughter to make a Lego race car and she got to keep the car. They do free gift wrapping. If you want even more fancier wrapping paper, there is a nominal charge, but I've always found that their free gift wrap is absolutely fine. Been there several times, but each time I always end up spending a long time looking at stuff and finding things I never saw before. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about their inventory and can come up with suggestions if you are looking for something in particular. Great for adults and kids! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

My first experience with AJ sports was a couple weeks ago when I came in to buy my kids their first skis. Everyone was helpful and left me feeling like this was a place I could trust. I came back today with the hand me down skis/boots I inherited over a decade ago. I told the staff I had no idea if they were good, or if I needed to get something newer. Beau immediately stepped up and said he'd be happy to help. He spent the next hour with me looking over options at all different price points, pointing out the differences between his recommendations for my ability level. He took the time to not only answer all my questions, but educate me on a sport I didn't grow up around. He was patient and considerate, and listen to me as I voiced certain concerns about some of the options. I ended up walking out with new (to me) skis, poles, boots, and a handful of accessories for me and my kids, with zero buyers remorse. I feel like I'm set up to have a successful ski season for many years to come, and look forward to enjoying the sport much more with myyoung family.
