Decided to rent electric bikes here after popping into a couple other rental shops on the Seawall. They have a display of bikes sitting outside on the curb. I will admit, some of them look a bit tattered but we had a great experience! They have multiple types of bikes: electric, manual, gas. They helped us understand the differences & we picked the Segways which they say are recommended for beginners or anyone a little concerned of safety because the throttle has a very moderated level of acceleration. I haven't ridden a bike in over 20 years and this Segway e-bike was easy breezy. No issues with control, stopping, turn radius, etc. Not sure why this place has such a low rating. The process couldn't be simplier. You go inside, you pick your bike rental, sign the contract, they show you how to operate it & you are on your way. The guy at the desk was chill. He said if we wanted to stay beyond our 2 hours just call him or don't call & we can settle up when we return. We did add an extra hour while we were out because we stopped for lunch. It was September which was low season so no issues going up & down the Seawall. I can only imagine the experience may be different during peak. We also went down to the Strand using 25th street. You can stay on the sidewalk the whole way and it felt very safe. Overall great experience. Highly recommend it when visiting Galveston island. We had a ball! read more

Save your money and go to a different shop. Owner drives around following you yelling his rules. My kid got got scared because he was yelling at us about his fees in the middle of the road. I rented a 4 seater bike and a escooter. Escooter handle bar literally came loose within first 2 minutes of me trying the scooter out. Most scooters are falling apart. I was charged an extra $30 because my wife sat on the TWO seater scooter with me for 5 mins. Complete rip off. I returned the bikes immediately after the owner yelled and scared my family. AVOID this place at all costs. Plenty of other places and priced too. FYI: I was never told to sign any waiver or told about any extra fees or charges. No signs anywhere on the store either. Looks like this is how they resort to making money now. read more

Went to this shop to rent a 6 seater golf cart. We were handed they keys and given a short quick explanation of how the cart worked. We got in the cart, the reverse gear was jammed and not working correctly. Then the cart just died. We then felt unsafe so we decided to just go in and get a refund because we never left the parking lot. They refused!!! This is a horrible company. Please do not rent these busted unsafe carts. read more

I gave my brother a gift card for his birthday and when he arrived the golf cart was damaged and not working property. He asked for a refund and they didn't give him a refund :( very sad. We rented a 4 seat golf cart because this place was literally directly in front of our hotel, the Doubletree. It was $60/hour, and we get the teal golf cart. It kept stalling at every red light and would take at least 3-4 tries on the gas before it would engage again. People are nice, but quality of the equipment they rent out was not good. We returned it early because we didn't feel safe out in traffic with it. read more

I wouldn't normally write a negative review, that's just not my thing. but I feel a review is necessary in this case. Two of my friends and I rented bikes from them on 7/30/22, the 2 guys that were in the shop when we picked up the bikes were nice as could be, no problems. The bikes were in kinda rough shape, but oh well, we didn't expect brand new bikes anyway. However the bike I had was piece of sh#t, the chain came off 3 times, and I would guess the rear wheel didn't have any bearing left in it whatsoever. Upon returning the bike I mentioned to the shop mechanic how bad of shape the bike was in, and I mentioned we should get at least a partial refund and he agreed. However the nasty women behind the counter disagreed, saying I should have called them for a repair. She was not willing to negotiate at all. She recommended calling the owner, which I didn't feel was necessary. As we left the shop the mechanic said he thought we were due a refund and that the owner buys junk bikes every year, rents them out and throws them away at the end of the year. read more

Not sure why this place has poor reviews. Worked with James to rent two bikes for my wife and I and had no issues cruising all over the Seawall. Best part was they gave us a free postcard (I'm a postcard nerd) and even a stamp to mail it home. Quick and easy spot. read more

Did not have a good experience with this store. The owner is rude and can hurl abuses at you if you try to ask for an explanation of being charged extra even when you return the scooters within the timeframe . We later tried few other places down the road and the experience was much much better! Will never come back and certainly would not recommend this place! read more

This is in response to the owner via Google review. Reading some of the reviews it should not be a surprise to you that you have employees with poor customer service. The number of one star ratings are climbing for this business. In regard to your comment about pedestrian having the right of away "I agree". But my concern for a horn not working or "not an essential item" per the owner, was for my safety as a consumer riding your defaulted equipment. Distracted drivers don't always SEE an e-scooter but they can HEAR a horn if it works. Since the horn did not work on my e-scooter that was a problem. As an owner responding to a review, you may want to listen to a repeat consumer instead of assuming my issue was with a pedestrian. Also, we did try to return the scooter with no resolution. And a waste of our time and money. Side note: All of your responses to negative reviews and your customer service are exactly the same. Rude, callous, and threatening. Make sure ALL of your equipment is working efficiently before releasing on the street/sidewalks. I rented three e-scooters on 4/12/21. And, there is no need for me to message you or speak to you regarding this matter any further. You respond to post with assumptions and total disregard of consumers concerns. Dissatisfied customer. First time riding a scooter, they sold me one that died when I was over two miles from the location. When I called for help they literally hung up in my face. Worst service ever. I just recovered from a foot surgery. Would never spend another dollar there. read more

Bikes are awful. Chain broke and they had to come get us. Hands were so greasy from trying to fix and ruined my purse. They only offered an extra hour of bike rental. Hmmm that's not good at 10PM. Not friendly. Go elsewhere. read more
