We stayed here as part of an RV event over Labor Day Weekend. I had never been to an event like…read morethis before and was a little shocked when informed that we would be boon-docking. We ended having a great time and will likely do again (with more planning and preparation). As for the site, Coles Point looks like it's past it's expiration. It's right off the Potomac River (great!), but it needs a lot of work. There must of been nearly 100 RV units on this property, all boon-docking. (1) The bathroom facilities need to be upgraded (2 showers per sex), the water pressure was non-existent, and the showers were not cleaned. The water was hot, at least. My husband said the door on the men's shower did not even close properly (the door was too big!). I did not look into the toilet/sink section. (2) The storefront needs more supplies. They had some fishing tackle, but no fishing line. A few snacks, but no basic staples that an RV'er might need: oil, sugar, salt, paper towels, paper plates, etc. They did appear to sell lots of ice. I would suggest propane too. (3) Someone said the restaurant used to be a big thing. Now closed. We went to Walmart and was a 45-min trip one-way. There is nothing in the area to eat or drink for miles. If available, I'm sure the RV'ers would gladly spend their money so as to not leave, but with no offerings, there is not much to recommend the resort. (4) Due to the size of the event, planning should have been done to provide additional dumpsters to accommodate the amount of trash that was generated or have a mid-event dumpster pick-up. All the dumpsters were overflowing when everyone pulled out. (5) The actual campground. People have been living there and in all such places, it begins to look run-down. It was described to me as "ghetto". People who camp don't generally want to RV beside people who live in an RV park as it becomes truly "lived in", especially in a expensive unit. It was overgrown, the structures were falling apart or needed to be painted, and it looked "bad". I hope to see changes if we return next year, which we hopefully will. Good luck to the new owners because the site can be great for travelers.

Up until this point we had been looking at every dealership in the area and wanted a center console boat, narrowed it down to a few models. We spent a entire day at the marina looking at boats, did a sea trial, and ended up buying a key west center console. During the entire sales process, Louis was a straight shooter. He went over everything about our boat, what we need and don't need and what not to waste our money on. The boat buying process was simple and Louis and Sonia took care of us during the entire process. The day we picked up our boat we did a sea trial and Louis went over everything about the boat. I felt comfortable and later that day we drove our boat out of the marina and continue to love our key west! I still call and email Louis all the time with questions and he promptly returns my phone calls, even after hours!!!! Unless you have months to wait for your boat and have no regard for your money go someplace else…read more There are many boaters who do drop off their boats for six months and are happy to spend excessively on boat maintenance but if this is not what you want do not go to this business. There is not much competition in the area and I have gone here twice. Both times were for 2 week or less jobs that ended up being over 2 months. Rain, holidays, sick employees are all excuses for delayed work. This is an hourly business and a task that should take one or two hours will appear on the invoice as a ten or twelve, or more, hour tasks. Tasks where a power tool could be used will be done with a hand tool. Think hack saw instead of reciprocating saw and picture two employees operating the hacksaw at one time. It really happened! Your boat will be dirty, inside and out, when you finally get it back. Vendors who come in to do wax and bottom jobs are good and work very quickly and use time saving electric and pneumatic tools. Check everything before leaving. Look for tools and parts in the bilge. Check that everything works correctly like bow thruster pushes in the right direction and not rigged backwards. The invoice has been a jaw dropper both times. About a 30% charge above whatever a generous estimate would be for the work. The hour totals are unbelievable, if true then there is a very serious time management issue or there are integrity issues. I checked progress on the boat every other day based on my first experience and did not see the effort match the hours on the invoice. Little to no communication re the pace or work unless you initiate it. The yard is organized and customers are allowed to work on their boats while here, which is nice, but your boat will be there for a long time. Address every issue, delay, or questionable time management and status of your invoice frequently during the process because once the invoice is written the owner is not open to a discussion and will resort to the old chestnut "if I give you a discount, then do I have to give everyone a discount" as a response to a question about charging 24 hours of work to remove one part. Avoid this business if you plan to boat in the same year you want to get work done.

It was an interactive sail and we got to take part in the operation of the boat. Was a lot of fun learning the ins and outs of sailing. One of the nice perks is that is a small group of folks on the boat that adds a much more cozy experience. We met a lovely couple and their kids (Rich, Heather, Caitlin and Jackson) from MN and enjoyed our time together. The end of our sail was made special when rarely seen group of dolphins joined us and provided much appreciated entertainment. There are plenty of competent boat shops out there, but this is not one of them. They have had our boat since May..... And they still have the boat (now September) - that's the entire 2025 summer waiting for them to fix a simple small oil leak. The boat was running when it went in, but apparently no longer runs. We did pay quite a large sum of money to briefly discover (in July) that the boat wouldn't run at all, even after they "water tested" it before we picked it up. So, back to the shop the boat went, and still remains today. We have never received a call to discuss diagnosis of the problem or plans for repair. The last conversation was today when i CALLED THEM and was told the engine is basically shot. So from a functioning boat to a blown engine under their watch. How happy would you be? How satisfied with their knowledge and customer service with would you be? Just some things to consider before you consider using them. And consider these things very carefully before you entrust your boats, etc to these incompetent people. I have a strong feeling we will be seeing them in small claims court very soon.

While most boat salesmen would have given me a few details and told me to come see for myself, the owner, Chris, went over the boat with a fine tooth comb telling me every minor scratch or issue. We even negotiated the sales price prior to my drive down there. Everything was exactly as he described it. The boat and motor (which they had tuned up prior to selling) run great. I as so impressed with their customer service, honesty, and Chris' knowledge of boats and motors that I took it back for installation of some electronics. Couldn't recommend these people higher.
