I left my 5-star review a few days ago, before I had an opportunity to look at other Yelp reviews of Salud Chiropractic. I was shocked to see that almost all negative reviews (there weren't many) are from 10 and 12 years ago! Yikes, don't reviews ever age or drop off? That doesn't seem quite fair. I have benefited from chiropractic care (from many different practitioners) for my scoliosis and disc disease for decades. I've also gone the invasive route with surgeries. My back has been a mess all my adult life. At first glance, when I started with Salud Chiropractic, treatment seemed expensive, but then I realized that they were taking a comprehensive approach to my chronic back pain, an approach I'd never experienced before. They started with X-rays to identify the state of my spine and source of my pain. Then, they developed the ideal treatment plan, including the initial X-rays and another set at the 6-month point, adjustments three times a week, periodic check-ins to discuss progress, and (in my case) shoe inserts to address my short leg. At every appointment my X-rays were projected on a screen in the treatment room for the doctor's review. I've just never had this kind of support before. Always it was one-off visits costing $75 or more, with the doctor working from my anecdotal complaints. Some of my chiropractors were skilled at their craft, knowledgeable about my anatomy, and intuitive about how to help me; others not so much. The point is that one can't really compare care at Salud with other chiropractors because it's an entirely different treatment model. My other review was also 5-star and very positive, but I wanted to expand on it to include additional features of care at Salud Chiropractic. P.S. I have been going to Salud Chiropractic for a couple of months now and the pain in my hip is 95% gone. I have had a couple of mini strokes and my doctor said if I see a chiropractor make sure I see a very educated chiropractor that knows what they are doing. Dr salud is a giant scam. She is a great dr and knows her stuff but she's VERY sneaky. She will get you in with a coupon at a farmers market , and tell you that you are all kinds of messed up and you need MANY sessions resulting in thousands of dollars . She will bug you with constant emails calls and texts if you don't book an appointment . The coupon from farmers market makes you come in 3 times and NO ADJUSTMENT EVER! Not until you pay thousands of dollars. Sneaky sneaky sneaky. She will also ask you to bring a parent or boyfriend in with you when she pitches her thousand dollar plan to you as "support" but really she just wants someone else to also convince you that you need help, or maybe will help you pay for her treatment. Huge scam, go find another chiro around there are PLENTY that aren't trying to rip you off. read more

I went to this office because my husband needed chiropractic care. I was offered a free consultation because I mentioned I had arthritis in my spine. So, I had a consultation and was told they needed to do X-rays , which they did,(not covered by either of our insurance btw) and then had another consultation on my X-rays (also not covered by either of our insurance policies. Then I was given a short painful adjustment and was advised to find a chiropractor up in Oregon where we live. We got a call 5 days ago about my bill (almost $500) and then a call today asking if we've sent payment. We told the office we we're waiting for breakdown of services that should have been sent -but we haven't received. The staff and doctors were awesome, and I was told everything was probably not covered by insurance-the adjustment was not helpful and aggravated my back a lot. I should've done more research on arthritis in the spine and arthritis in general. I'm not complaining about the office, they did help my husband and of course his treatments were partially covered by insurance. Next time I'll know better and ask the real questions like will this type of treatment help my spine and relieve pain in my back. (Because it hasn't helped at all and I'm still in a lot of pain) If you need chiropractic care, I would definitely review all of your options before jumping into anything. read more

I started seeing Dr. Farrell about 2 months ago and so far, I am really thrilled with her and her practice. Where do I start... well, I am 41 years old and have had neck, shoulder and lower back pain for 20 years. Saw chiropractors before and they cracked my back and I never felt better. From my first visit with Dr. Farrell, she was different. She did xrays on me to see what was actually going on before she started adjusting me. To me, that was like a mechanic doing a diagnostic and it just seemed like the right way to do it. After the xrays she encouraged me to bring my husband in with me to discuss treatment and that was also the right move. My husband got to review my xrays with me and he knows how much I complain about pain... he was supportive and encouraged me to purchase the max treatment ppan she offered. Including blood work. Is it cheap? No... don't come here thinking you're going to spend $40 for an adjustment 1x per month and be good to go. Dr. Farrell is fixing you from the ground up and that takes time and expertise. I fully trust her. In 2 months, she has reduced my neck and shoulder pain by about 80%. Only hurts 1 day a week instead of 6 or 7. Same with hips and lower back. I'm sleeping a million times better. I feel so much more positive about my health and body. Next up, I am going to do blood work and Dr. F is going to help me figure out my weight issues. I also want to say that her office is so great. Its super organized. You walk in, swipe your card to check in and swipe it again when you get to your room. Then she has access to all your patient notes (and she takes lots of notes). I purchased a "family plan deal" at the Santa Rosa street market. I received an evaluation, x-rays and a follow up appointment. This spanned over the course of two appointments and several hours. After my evaluation I was asked to come back to go over my results which ended up in a quote for a "treatment plan" worth several thousand dollars and a push to pay it all up front. I appreciate Drs. that are thorough, informative with their evaluations and treatment, but this felt far too aggressive and infomercial for my taste. My particular insurance doesn't cover this type of thing and even if it did I would not use this office because I was very put off by the sales tactic and approach. It was really uncomfortable and not the type of vibe I want from someone who will be cracking my neck. I chocked it up to it not being a good for me so I did not follow up with any future appointments and asked my husband not to book his evaluation with them because it would only leave him feeling like I did, like I had completely wasted my time. It has been a couple months since I was last there and since then I have received a phone call and letter at home stressing me about the "seriousness of my condition". It feels so intrusive and line crossing to hound someone at home. I don't appreciate being badgered or made feel guilty because I am realistic about my monetary expenses. I care about my health but I won't be guilted into seeking care and certainly not at the expense of being made feel like it isn't a priority because I cant't afford to fork out. No thank you. While this may work for some people, it isn't for me or my family and I felt we are better suited going elsewhere. read more

My daughter and wife both see Dr. Farrell. The care they're receiving is excellent: Dr Farrell is extremely caring and sensitive, and she's very effective at manipulation, and the staff is great. I understand that it may seem expensive (but there are many options for financing), but I feel that it's in the same category as orthodontics: you may be able to do without it, but you'll likely feel much better for doing it. (As an aside, I work in healthcare compliance, and they definitely do not violate HIPAA!) Additionally, before you decide one way or the other on Salud, be sure and look at the filtered Yelp reviews. Terrible!!!!!! I can't say I've been to a worse chiropractor in my life. The "doctor" didn't listen to any of my ailments and instead determined I had severe scoliosis without even examining the part of my back that I came in for! He then preached about some treatment plan and $300 x-rays. Thankfully I didn't fall for his BS and saw my actual doctor about the issue. She agreed that this guy didn't know what he was talking about. I would stand outside and hold a sign telling people to run for the hills if I were more petty. If not for Salud Chiropractic I would have quit my job as an EMT and I would have quit playing Roller Derby. I was in such horrible pain. I was taking mass amounts of Ibuprofen and Tylenol. I suffered from frequent migraines. Dr. Ferrel and Dr. Thorton have worked diligently on my back, neck, hips, shoulders, ribs and knees.
