This is a great family outing. The lights are always well done. About half way through, you can stop for a hay ride ans race your kids down the hill on the slide. Kids can write letters to Santa and buy hot chocolate and snacks. It was a nice warm 48 degrees when we went there. Get out have some fun and make a few memories. read more

If you love Christmas lights, this is one of the best spots to be. The trail is 4miles long, and we were able to stroll through for the annual Sleigh Bell Trot. The light displays don't really change year after year, so if you've been last year, there aren't any new surprises this year. Still a fun night out! Safe and clean! read more

We love coming to Saluda Shoals Park every year for the Christmas lights. I am always done for lights but this place does it way better. We are never waiting long to drive and it's fun that they have companies that sponsor the different lights. We grab some hot chocolate as well as turn up the music and drive. It's great that there is a place to stop and walk if you want. There are shops and of course, Santa is sometimes there. It's a huge park and they go out all the way. The cost is not insane and its well run for a very busy place during a busy time of year!!!! read more

For a place that was donated hundreds of acres and uses public tax dollars, and also claims to be 501.3C, how in the heck do they justify charging people to park? Then when asked if they even offer a military discount, the tween working the gate tries to cop an attitude. Either stop charging people to attend something that their tax dollars have already paid for, or stop taking tax dollars and government hand outs, which is also OUR tax dollars. Leo's Landing Park is so amazing! I was amazed at the space, the setup, and the different options for engagement. The accessibility of it all is pretty cool and awesome. This park alone is totally worth the $5 entry fee you have to pay at the entrance gate. It is in the back left corner of the park. Parking is plentiful even on a packed day. There are shelters that can be reserved for parties and places to sit and watch your kids play. There's literally a little bit of everything, from slides to music to tiny houses and hammocks. This is definitely an amazing option for something to do with the kids, and you could even take lunch there. There are restrooms as well. There's a sidewalk that could be a walking loop too. Oh Wow! What a really nice park! We found it on the way up from Florida when we were looking for a place to run the dogs before continuing our trip to the hotel in Greenville. This park has everything! Dirt and paved hiking/biking trails with bridges over the Saluda River; boat ramp; kayak, canoe, and tube rentals; a river beach for swimming; bathrooms; nature center; fenced/treed off-leash dog* area; soccer fields, etc. And it's only $5 for a day pass or $45 for an annual pass. *Dogs are allowed anywhere in the park as long as they are on a 6' leash. However, they do have a fenced area for off-leash fun! read more

I like Saluda Shoals because there are some walking trails surrounded by the river and lots of woods, but here are also open spaces, picnic tables, a dog park, and they rent watercraft. The park was seriously impacted by the 2015 flood, and you can see remnants of that now in open spaces where trees once were and you can see pavement replacement. I don't like that you have to pay to get into this park and then pay if you want to use the dog park. This is a nice park to spend a day with family on a picnic or just take a walk for part of a day. read more

Nice park. Trails are alway nice - and it is nice to walk in wooded areas. I believe people can rent kayaks and / or canoes for the river. I believe you can also fish in this park. There are picnic shelters for picnicing. There is also a dark park and educational facilities. Only downside is there is a charge to enter the park (not sure what the daily rate is as my aunt has a yearly pass). Downside from that is if you live outside the Lexington / Richland 5 School District, you have to pay slightly more than those who live within that school district. I also believe there is an additional charge for the dog park. read more

I stumbled along this park after two others denied me entry because I was traveling with my four legged best friend. The women who checked me in was so friendly & enthusiastic about the fun she knew I would have & she was right! This park is fantastic! Great trails to explore with awesome access to the water. Great place to visit. They rent kayaks, tubes, canoes, and SUPs. Also great event space for anyone who plans meetings and events. The staff is super helpful. Good prices, and you can bring your own caterer. Very cost effective for event planning. read more

I did not like what they charged for getting into this park . Not a good place to walk your dogs . there is a better park to walk and that is sequoia park . I think this park has been impacted a lot by the floods as someone else here said . I would not have a picnic here either . Could be so much better . read more

It's a nice park with some good trails. However, the area bicyclists are extremely rude and ride dangerously fast on the paved walking trails meant for joggers, people walking dogs, traversing to other areas of the park or just trying to enjoy a leisurely stroll. The bicyclists donning helmets and even race gear rudely curse other park patrons for not getting out of their way fast enough and literally speed thru the walking trails with zero regard for mothers with babies in strollers, elderly couples enjoying a slow walk together, and small children on the trails. I wish there were rules keeping the bicyclists off the paved walking trails - especially since there are plenty of car-accessible road areas winding thru the park that the cyclists can stay on to allow walkers a safe place just for walking/jogging. Other than that, the trails are nicely marked to advise when flooding washes them out. You can buy an annual pass that allows you to bypass the lines of those who pay by the day/visit; the annual pass can be used at both park entrances. I would like to see the park restore more trash cans along the trails -- there used to be trash cans every 1/4 mile and now it's every 1/2 mi or 1m. Since they reduced the number of available trash cans on the paved trails and near boat ramps, I've noticed more dog poop, tossed beverage cans and food wrappers cast on the ground throughout the park as some people just won't bother to walk tote their trash the extra distance to properly dispose of those things. read more
