I have had negative experiences the two other times I've dealt with dealership service departments. Salvadore Chevrolet was my "third time is a charm" experience! This is an AMAZING group of people! I showed up stressed out and mad (not at them...at the other service location in CT). I think I was very much one of those irate customers. Despite that, the service manager, Rich, took it in stride, helped me the best way he could, and took the time to hear me out. The service receptionist who helped me, Alex, was patient and kind. The two wonderful young mechanics who helped me with transport (Jamison and Lainey - I hope I spelled their names right!) were friendly, fun to talk with, and both had very good things to say about their employment - they are happy to work there. That says a lot. This is a great group of people. They work well on behalf of their customers. They know what it means to value us, to keep us coming back. They worked with my strange work schedule, and they have my respect. I never thought I'd say that about an auto dealership, but here I am, saying it! Took our vehicle for a basic check up and were told our breaks were shot and then received a massive hassle just trying to find out when it would be done. We ended up picking up the vehicle after an entire day there with NO work even started, took vehicle to another dealership to be informed that our breaks were in fact fine. Be extremely cautious when dealing with these people they have proven to be extremely deceitful. read more

Went in to test drive some vehicles. The one I most wanted they did not have in stock. Was willing to settle for another but they wanted thousands more than it was worth. Weeks later and I am still trying to get them to remove my personal information from their database and shred their copy of my driver's license, which I do not on a whim but on the advice of my local police department as I am a victim of stalking from well before I went here looking at cars and was instructed to minimize where my personal information is kept. Drove an hour away to purchase a Certified truck from this relentless dealership, only bc it was Certified, having the peace of mind the truck will be sold in great-like condition. While driving home with the vehicle, there was a noticeable difference how noisy it was in the cab, as opposed to when it was test-driven. Absolutely wasn't like that when test driven. After getting a passed inspection sticker, after replacing broken windshield wipers, it was mentioned to the mechanic about the noise and asked to put it on the lift to see where the noise was coming from. It was quickly discovered that the inside of the rear tires was badly scalloped. After contacting the dealership, they asked that I send a video, to which I did. They then said, "well it passed inspection so were not going to replace the tires". I contacted and filed a complaint with Chevy Corporate and after 3 weeks, the dealership finally responded back to them, stating this was a Maintenace issue not covered by the Certified Vehicle Program. Now Im forced to spend money on new tires. How could have these broken windshield wipers and these tires have had passed Inspection with the Certified Vehicle Program? Certified Used Vehicles is all a crock of crap and hype, particularly when Chevy Corporate did nothing to defend me. I should have just simply asked my mechanic to Fail the Inspection Sticker and the Dealership would have been forced to replace them. But I was fooled to believe they would take care of this without question. They also, to date, have refused to submit a copy of a receipt for a bed cover we paid $400 for, allegedly at cost price. After it was installed by one of their subcontractors at a different location, the Manager got very upset when asked for the receipt and refused to give one also. Wonder why all the deceptiveness and multiple excuses. These guys are shady. BEWARE!!! Don't fall for the fake kindness of these Sales Reps and Managers. This is the first time I ever posted a review online. Thats how disturbed I am with this dealership. I bet you none of those Representatives at that Dealership would allow their own son to drive with those tires. BTW, this was my sons first car, being 18 years old. You guys at this dealership made a very bad impression for every other car dealer. You certainly taught him the lesson I was always trying to teach him...DONT TRUST ANYONE. I found the truck I had been looking for and the salesperson was great. The finance person...not so much. When I told him who I bank with and that I would like to finance through them, and what I would like to price to be below, he happily said "No problem!". But when the truck was delivered the paperwork was for a different bank and was over the amount I asked for. Normally I would have just sent them back and asked them to re-do the paperwork, but I live 2 hours from the dealership and did not want to delay things any longer. Now I working with my Credit Union to refinance the truck. The explanation I got was that the original finance person went on vacation and the person filling in was not "well trained". Customer service is non existent! They literally don't care if you are happy. I called to make an appointment. They said I could drop the car off in a week. I waited 1 week and dropped the car off on the scheduled day. It took them another full week to even look at the car, and took another full week to get the repairs completed, 3 weeks in total. They turned the front rotors and did an oil change and it took 3 weeks from my initial phone call. During the process I reached out and requested to speak with management or the owner of the dealership on 4 separate occasions. Each time they asked for my name and phone number and said somebody would call me back. Nobody ever called me back! Clearly they do not care about their customers or if you ever return. I am an area service manager with four Chevrolet fleet vehicles that they will never see again!!!! read more

Although recent reviews have been negative, I visited the service department today. One of the only Chevy Service Centers open in Mass on Saturdays. For people who work 40 hours and no time off, this is a blessing. Rick was my service coordinator and he's also the person who scheduled my appointment last week. I was in and out in 1 hour. They did a thorough check of my vehicle and I can tell work was done because my cabin air filter smelled super fresh and the latch on my dashboard was tightened. At Balise, they could not do that and they don't even know how to rotate a tire without causing more issues. Salvadore rotated my tires for 19.99. This was under 100$ and I come back for a diagnostic in few weeks. I recommend this dealer read more

I brought my truck in twice because it was calling. They had their world class technician look at it both times and they could not find anything wrong with it. They charged me for an alignment even. I brought it to another Chevrolet dealership and they immediately notified me that one of my front calipers with sticking. I would not trust the service department with anything and I do not recommend you bring your vehicles there. There are much better service departments at other dealerships available. read more

Nightmare experience, we will not be returning there. We dropped our van off for a recall/warranty fix if a transmission issue. Chrysler parts were backordered. Since the car was undrivable due to the issue we had to leave it at the dealership for over a month. The service department said they didn't have loaners and Chrysler only reimburses rentals after 90 days, which isn't reasonable for us. It was the first type of this repair for their mechanic and they ended up breaking something else while doing the repair (which they fixed at no cost). Our van ended up at the dealership for over a month. Communication was horrible as they rarely answered the phone or returned calls. On several occasions we had to drive there to get an update on the repair status. After we finally got our van back, we drove a few blocks away and the check engine light came back on. We turned around and took it right back. They ran the codes and told us "It's no probably not a big deal and not related to the transmission". A family friend who's a mechanic gave us the real diagnosis of a wheel bearing and a heater issue. We took it to a different dealership this time to find out that the wheel bearing went out of warranty while it was at Salvadores! This could have easily been diagnosed and fixed if the mechanic listened to the car while he was test driving it. Thankfully the heater is still under warranty and can be fixed by a more competent service department. read more

I purchased my car used from Salvatore's. The gentleman selling my car to me was extremely nice and patient. I test drove several cars. After I picked up my car I have had nothing but problems. Only 2 weeks after buying my car the check engine light came on. I immediately brought it back 2 them where I was told it would cost $100 for them to run the diagnostic. I left there and went to AutoZone where they rent to a diagnostic for free and found out it was my gas cover. About 4 months into owning my car it had a recall which they did fix after speaking with several employees and then speaking with the owner. The owner was very nice and did put me in a rental car for 4 weeks. I will never buy a car from them again because of the customer service I received after purchasing my car. read more

I have to say the entire team at Salvadore Chevy are amazing. I have coming to see them for the past 2 plus years for service on my vehicle. Sadly, my vehicle has seen better days, and while there for my latest servicing, some things were brought to my attention that I was not ready for. Financially or mentally. After going over all my options with the team, they were able to take my car as a trade for a newer model with less miles and everything worked out awesome. My son went in with the intention on buying a 2016 chevy pickup. He had a trade worth 22.5 they offered him 19. The truck was 30 he wanted 21 for his car and the truck for 28. Nope they didn't want to do it. He has a 800 credit score said how much he wanted the truck they said thier not moving on the truck being the end of the month one would think they would want to sell nope. And they didn't have a title for the truck so why is it on the lot. They said he could wait 4-6 weeks for the title again why is it on the lot for sale. The salesman could care less if he sold it or not. Stay away from this dealership. read more

Sales department was great. Service not so much. Brand new 2011 Dodge Journey has been taken back numerous times over the past few years for a banging noise in the front end and they have yet to fix the noise. As another reviewer said Sales was great. Extremely helpful without any pressure or tactics. Service on the other hand is HORRIBLE. My brakes failed while I was driving on the highway in my NEW 2013 Sonic, and they were the closest dealer I could get it to safely. They worked on it, but I could tell after I picked it up that it still wasn't right. They went to the floor, but when the car accelerated, for some reason they became solid and unusable. Service rep argues "First you say they are soft, then you say they are hard, which is it". After getting them to go for a ride and do what I say to prove it, they kind of acknowledged there was Still a problem. it was fixed the 2nd attempt, but when I inspected the engine compartment the engine was covered in brake fluid. It's destructive, and I had to wipe it off the best I could. At least I had brakes. A few weeks later..... I don't drive many miles, so car had sat for a week. It had rained a few days back and when I went out, the car stunk like fish. Rain had leaked in on the passenger side and soaked the floor. I decide to give them another chance. I go back and find there's a bulletin to fix the leak problem I had. So they work on it. I get it home and it rained within a few days. Yep. Wet floor. They took it back again, replaced a part and I get it back again. When I get home I notice a hole in my passenger seat. It was NOT there before. I don't know if it was swapped or damaged. Looked like a screw driver head pierced the seat. I went and complained. The manager agreed to replace it and ordered one. I waited, and thought about it, but i REALLY lost trust in them and decided I couldn't afford to let them touch my car again. I cancelled the appointment and decided to go elsewhere. I'll pay the $108 for the seat myself. A few days later it rained. Guess what... read more

I came to have an oil change because I had a coupon. They recommended a tire rotation. I did. While the tires were off, they were nice enough to tell me that my brakes were almost in need of replacement. They said to keep an eye/ear out for them that they'll be making noise soon. I've been to my share of dealerships over the years but my recent visit to Salvadore's was bizarre. First I call ahead saying what I'm looking for and they say come down, we have plenty of Colorados in stock. I get there and there are 3. So I get greeted by some young guy who didn't appear to have any clue as to what was going on and couldn't answer basic questions. Looking back, he maybe didn't even work there. I don't know, all I know is that the place did nothing to earn my business and when my credit came back in the mid range they said there's nothing they could do. Most places will try to work with lenders or the leasing company, but they flat out refused. Maybe they were busy. Oh wait the place was empty so that's not it. Guess they just don't care for people who have below a 720 credit score. read more

During my initial visit Tuesday, i inform the service center rep i needed warranty work done. I handed the man some written specific mechanical issues. I also tried to explain the work needed beyond mechanical but, apparently I didn't or didn't elaborate as much as i have on the mechanical written issues from my visit at Midas. I asked the rep for the diagnostics cost, he couldn't provide it. He just informed me, if its covered in warranty I will pay my deductible only. I informed the rep, I looked over my warranty and the diagnostics tests is not stated in it in which, is why I'm asking for a estimate. He could not provide it. I decided to schedule a diagnostics appointment for today 10/9/15. I verified my diagnostics appointment issues. The rep stated he wasn't aware I will need a electrical diagnostics to doe to a security theft system issue light in my 08 Chevy cobalt LT, it wasn't expressed to him. So, I had to reschedule again. However, I called colonial west Chevrolet and, I expressed everything in best detail mechanically and electrically. The colonial west Chevy service rep provided some causes of my issues and, was able to give a mechanical and electric diagnostics cost. I canceled my appointment with Salvador and scheduled with Colonial west Chevrolet. I have to agree with Derek. P, the service center isn't the best. My reason of 2 stars is because I couldn't get a diagnostics estimate in which, makes me feel they want to take advantage of me. I also gave the 2 stars because the place seemed organized and, the rep did conduct himself professionally. read more

I don't always go to a dealer, but when I do, I prefer those guys at Salvadore Chevy. I saw one of the service guys for my neighbor's truck that we share. The idiot light was on and our local guy couldn't figure it out and told us to see a dealer. He said he was going to charge us a "diagnostics fee", obviously we weren't too happy about that. But... they did find the exact problem and the fee went toward the repair, which we didn't expect. So that was good. I haven't dealt with the sales department, but because of my visit to their service department, I would definitely see their sales team. They even washed my car at the end! lesson here is, even though they cost a little more, I got what I paid for, and that was fantastic service with a smile. The lumberjack that helped me was nice. I had to go in and sign paperwork because I live in NH before I could pick up the SUV. Glynn helped me with the deal paperwork and Mike helped with the financing. Life has changed a lot in the past year since Elliot passed away. It took almost 2 months for me to pack up his dresser and go into his workshop. I have made many steps to move on including going back to my mothers name, as just writing the words reminded me of my darling. Well I have had to do all the chores now and cut the grass, snow machine the driveway and bring the trash cans to the corner. All of that comes in good time and I have learned that it's a bunch of work. Well Last week I noticed that my car needed a grease job and that is something that clearly was out of my comfort zone. Elliot used to always say he was going to the garage to get a grease job, he would laugh and say maybe he can talk the big guy into giving him a car wash as well. He would always come home home smiling saying how much he liked them. So here I am pulling into Salvadore Chevrolet service garage and the door was open and I was confused about pulling in or waiting for someone to get me so I waited a few minutes and nobody came so I built up the strength and pulled in. I think the size of the building and the noise it what really overwhelms me. Well I got out of my car and stood there waiting for someone to help me because I really didn't know what to do. I saw a man in his office behind the window and he kept staring at me but he wouldn't come out, I even tried to make a gesture that I needed help but he just waved to me so I figured he was busy. Finally after about 5 minutes a gentleman came out and asked me if he could help me and I said yes I need a grease job. He asked me if I had an appointment and I said no my late husband used to just swing by when he could but the gentleman said he could not take me without an appointment. I told him that I didn't have time later in the week and he still said no. He explained that he was short on staff, someone called in sick, people were at lunch, something about shop training and so on, almost every escuse in the book. Well needless to say he wasn't willing to help me. I was really disappointed because I assume by his size that this was the big guy that my husband used to see. I almost said something to him but decided that patience was a virtue. Well I pulled out and right down the street is a Towing company so I pulled in and asked them for a grease job and they said no problem they could do it right now. As it turned out I was 3 months over due for and inspection sticker and I needed some other work done to pass inspection but those nice gentlemen took good care of me. I started to tell the man in the office of the tow truck place about my experience at Salvadores and he said that they just changed ownership and the whole place is going down the commode. Well with that type of Service it wont take long. Salvadores is horrible and I will never go there again. I have found a new garage for my new life. read more
