We shop Salvation thrifts store quite a bit and have never experienced anything like this. Prices at checkout were VERY different than what were posted. Purses were 3.99 unless marked. I had 2 purses and cart full of goodies. Long story short, she (the cashier) tried charging us $10 for one and $40 for the other one. She continued to ring up two pairs of pants (which were not individually priced) at 9.99 and 14.99. This continued throughout the transaction. Needless to say we left with 3 items. We should have known better when we noticed most of the hard goods were priced at $29.99! Do better Salvation Army. read more

I went in today and everything was half off. I found some jeans. The sign, that THEY posted said jeans were $9.99 each. When I went to pay, I was told that all Wranglers were normally $20. NOWHERE was it posted that Wranglers were more expensive. I got 6 pairs at $10 each, when it should have been $5 each. (The card was already charged before I was told about the price gouging) Get your prices together, SA. read more

As soon as you get to the register the bipolar older woman that I assume is over the store will start changing the prices on every item you purchase, the prices are kind of high being these are DONATED items.. anyway that lady is a real pain in the neck! read more

I had a good first impression when I first walked in and saw all the merchandise and all the space they had. I didn't end up buying too much but then I didn't really need too much. Some things that I looked at, clothing especially, were very reasonably priced. Other things, like Furniture, we're a little high I thought. It was pretty well organized and things looked pretty clean. The employee was sweeping up while I was there so they obviously try to keep up. There was no listing on Yelp so I created this one. I personally had a hard time finding out if there was a Salvation Army store in town. I finally figured out this was where it was after going to the housing location near 4th Street and Googling Salvation Army store. I love the Salvation Army and I live for fun vintage clothing but this store is a HOT MESS! The manager running it is so unbelievably rude and every time I asked her a question about a price she was completely annoyed because she was shopping for herself. I picked up a bowl and she yelled at me because it was her pile of stuff and I had no idea. She was being so rude to the other employees or volunteers-correcting them in front of everyone in the store. I have never done this but she was literally so rude I walked out of the store leaving at least $300 dollars (probably a lot more) of merchandise in the cart. First, before I went in, I checked the hours to see how long I had and it states they are open until 4:30. At 3:45 she started screaming at everyone in the store the store was closing-other shoppers were looking around trying to figure out what was happening. To be fair it was snowing but the roads were clear and this shouldn't have been an issue but I am assuming maybe they were closing early because of the snow. Another lady was like -she's fine she does this everyday and she can wait! Lol! While I was trying to make my way to payout she turned off the stores lights completely and I literally couldn't see anything and ran into a rack because there is so much stuff leaning against the walls you could not fit a cart through-or a human either-which I am sure is a fire/safety hazard. She was like oh you can't see I guess I will turn the lights back on so you can go to the register. LOL! There were still people in in the store when the lights were turned completely off again which was so creepy! When I was paying out she started scolding me and telling me the next time I came in I needed to be in line faster because I had too much stuff in my cart and that way she could check me out by 4:00-BUT here's the kicker I WAS IN LINE BY 4:00 PM WAITING ON HER TO CHECK OTHERS OUT! I was talking to the ladies in front of me about vintage clothing and jewelry while she was checking them out so I was like this a joke-am I on camera-and then I realized she was being serious! Lol! I was so embarrassed I was like I am so sorry I didn't mean to inconvenience you I will just leave. So I just walked away from my basket dying on the inside from embarrassment and went to my car as fast as I possibly could because I could her her talking about me to her employees or volunteers. I wasn't able to purchase anything which was fine-there wasn't anything I NEEDED but it made sad I wasn't able to support the Salvation Army. I just got in my car and left . I double checked the clock and it was 4:03! I was so embarrassed I will never show my face there again! I hope they can find this lady a job in a back office somewhere because she doesn't need to be working with public especially trying to manage them. I haven't had this feeling since I was in trouble in the second grade! LOL! read more
