bare and slightly higher price than what I would consider a steal and downrite rude. smells funny too think old upholstery from if everyone took a seat after a sweaty jog. I mean I know it's second hand but...there are ways to manage odor...or I guess the purpose is for us to buy and launder it...I don't know. Please. I remembe when the location was on lafeyette workers were nicer and prices manageable. I haven't shopped at salvaation army in several years and I hear now they are closing thrift store in Fredericksburg. It's a real shame. Sorry not sorry. read more

It's not bad. I've donated lots of items and decided to walk in. The store is smaller but the prices seem elevated for what they offer. It's a hit or miss store. If you are looking for holiday or housewares definitely. read more

It's a good joint. They have a LOT of clothes. The rest of it, other than clothes, is a bit disorganized, but that's okay for a thrift store. I got a couple of really good deals. The lady behind the counter was very nice. There is major construction going on on the exterior of the building. Don't let that dissuade you. They are still open. read more

While I do shop at The Salvation Army Thrift Shop, I donated several bins and boxes for the first time on 6/5. My husband was helping to unload when an employee, wears a ball cap and coveralls, grabbed the bins and promptly DROPPED, just dropped, the two bins onto the concrete floor causing two items to shatter. A beautiful table top fountain and a cute farmhouse pitcher and bowl lamp. When I saw the breakage and expressed my disappointment, the employee seemed unconcerned and dumped the contents into the dumpster. No acknowledgment of the damage he caused. Really? Really, dude? I will think twice before I donate to TSA again. I hope this employee receives some instructions on how to receive donations. His carelessness causes a loss of $$$$$. read more

Rip off! They mis-mark there prices and don't own up to it. Items are donated and non-profit, so to not own up to mistakes by staff putting wrong tags on things is just one less store to go to since all they care about is themselves. read more

I thought this place was just okay. I've seen others do well thrifting here, but I wasn't very successful. In my opinion, a lot of the stuff looked like junk, but it's still fun looking for gems. With that being said, I don't think I would keep this place in mind when I go thrifting. read more

Really rude teenage blonde girl at the front. The hours posted here are wrong, they close at five. said hello and was greeted with "we close in five minutes" and a scowl. She said "I told them to change it there's literally nothing I can do about it." Just so unpleasant. I get that she wants to get that she just wants to get off work but being rude to people who are just going off the info posted online is immature. I was in and out in four minutes and she was still rude when I payed, after yelling "the register closes in one minute," not, please finish up your shopping and make your way to the front or something at least civil. Her attitude was just not pleasant to have to interact with at all. I picked up a Thai temple rubbing for $2 that's worth hundreds in my four minutes anyway and was out the door with one minute to spare. read more

Another thrift store with a great mission. You know your purchases are going to a good cause. Shopping here can be hit or miss. Some days I buy nothing. Other days I buy two sofas, who knows what you're going to find on any given day. I've found some real gems here. I bought an antique teapot (English China) for $7.50, and it was selling for over $200 on eBay. Lots of clothing and home decor. Their prices are great! The staff is very friendly. Plenty of parking. Dressing rooms are available. No restrooms. read more

Salvation Army are pretty much the same where ever you go...and the prices are pretty decent at thsi Salvation. My issue is that I was overcharged 4$ and only caught it after leaving and re-calculating my purchases in the parking lot. Nobody should have to tell an employee how to do there job but seriously it's YOU'RE to charge me accordingly or you are ripping me off and not abiding by the laws of retail OR the prinicple set forth by Salvation Army in general. WORD TO THE WISE CUSTOMERS: Be careful, pay attention during the purchase transaction so you too won't be overcharged by staff not paying attention. read more

I really like coming to this thrift store sometimes I wish the staff were more friendlier and helpful and would let you sometimes make offers instead of saying they don't take less for anything. I have been having some issues with a younger blonde haired cashier telling me and other customers that the sticker price is not right and it costs more and I'm not sure what's going on with that and I think it is something the thrift store should look into because she may be making her own profit. I do like shopping there but it could be better. read more

Walked in, walked around, and that's about it. I've been to other salvation army's and this one is disgusting. It looked more like trash and the prices were ridiculous. You're better off going to the goodwill store around the corner for a cleaner appearance and cheaper finds. I was shocked to see the disaster. read more

I love the Salvation Army here in Fredericksburg, Virginia, so much. I take all my donations to them. Prices are wonderful, especially books at five for a dollar. The staff is kind and a couple of them are super friendly. Very importantly, Salvation Army gives to the community in so many ways and is a pillar in the community, especially for those in need. I find it an organization of faith and integrity that I can count on and respect in myriad ways. read more

Love this store. Much cheaper than Goodwill with just as good items. I got a brand new rocker recliner for 65 bucks. I was so happy. The place is not very organized but it is easy enough to get around. I love coming here and will continue to be a patron here. read more

HR manager has worked there for years, unsure how due to her attitude problem. She is an extremely unpleasant person. Out of all the employees I worked with there, I have never heard a positive comment about the HR manager. Did not have the greatest experience working there. The GM, was great to work with but there always seemed to be a communication barrier with the store and the office. This is a great place to work if you enjoy arguing with customers. Also good place to work if you don't mind the HR manager treating you like a five year old, talking down to you in a condescending manner. Always under staffed, not the GMs fault, but the HR manager. She hinders the success at this business. Can take 4 to 8 weeks to get hired here, even though at other salvation armies it can take only two days....? I think she enjoys seeing the employees struggle to stay afloat at the thrift store while she sits on her behind over at the office. read more
