They got what they were doing instantly unlocked the doors and let me in ask if I wanted the whole experience I said no that I would come back and save it for when I was with my whole family, but just the active attentiveness was heartfelt in mind blowing. We had a great time for my adult $5 admission, and my two young children were free. My four year old, who is over the moon about dinosaurs these days, excitedly played in the sandbox downstairs, and completed the crafts in the craft room during Dino Days. He was full of questions about all of the dinosaur skeletons, the video upstairs, and wanted half the items in the gift shop. He and I talked about the dinosaur footprints, and compared them to his feet. He excitedly tromped around looking at everything. We really enjoyed our trip, and took advantage of the Dino Days experience. As we were the first into the room for the 3D movie downstairs, the man running the movie was very nice to start it over for us since it had just started. As the title screens were still appearing, several other groups entered the room, making it fortunate timing for all involved. We followed our visit with a trip to Pickles and Pottery around the corner, where I had my four year old paint his very own ceramic stegosaurus. He coated it in mottled paint gleefully, talking all the while about dinosaurs. A week later we were able to pick up the finished glossy piece. The Sherman Museum is a wonderful place to take children. The staff are friendly and helpful; visitors are welcomed to walk through at their leisure, and enjoy all the museum has to offer. If you're a fellow parent, you will appreciate this as kids are often on their own schedule, choosing to walk past one exhibit, then stand and stare at triceratops for ten minutes... then come back later and walk around triceratops for another ten just to take it all in. For weeks following our visit my four year old has not forgotten what a good time he had, and continues to ask on most days, "Mom, is it Dino Day yet?" I expect we will be making at least one more visit to the Sherman Museum before Dino Days are extinct.

It is tucked away, off the beaten path, on a beautifully kept property. There is convenient parking right next to the tasting room. You can choose to sit indoors or out on one of the patios - there are mini-golf holes on one and giant chess pieces on the other. When you enter the tasting room, everything is decorated with aviation items. It is super cute inside. Bathroom was clean. Service was great and staff was very friendly. The wine was terrific! We enjoyed tasting dry whites and reds and were extremely happy with all the wine. The reds were especially smooth and delicious. We also walked around outside a little before we left. There are vineyards and a large pond. You are able to get married here and there is another building to use for a reception. Definitely pay them a visit and try their wine. It's worth the drive!

Yes, the parking situation was crappy but Melissa is a developing town and the infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, parking lots, etc.) is also being built out at the moment. But there were plenty of neighboring lots that allowed anyone not arriving right at opening (8 am) to find parking! Small walk over to the Walmart lot where the event was so no big deal. The weather really showed up and was overcast with a breeze so the heat didn't feel quite as glaring as it could've! There were special edition hot wheels toy cars for sale, with a purchase of Mobil 1 oil. There was also a gazebo with hot wheels toys set up for the little ones to enjoy. Arizona tea was one of the vendors there. Plenty of photo ops for former hot wheels cars, an F1 car or two, and local cars that were signed up to show. Highly recommend for car enthusiasts, families looking for a morning activity to occupy the kids up until lunch, and anyone with dogs because we brought our pup! They didn't have bathrooms but the Walmart is fairly new still and they have actual bathrooms (way better than if port-a-potties were rented IMO. The event is free to enter and stroll around, so definitely worth the drive up from Dallas or anywhere in the DFW area really.
