Please note, I am not an antiquer (Is that what you people call yourselves? I don't KNOW, that's my point) so this review may not be looking at some of the things you may find important. This dying shopping center is an antique mall on two sides, but the locations are different. This one is on the right, long side when you enter and has the restrooms at the end. Since so much of this mall is empty, there seems to be little reason to stop in, but between the costume shops and antique stores, you can wander away a few hours and find some entertainment. I was genuinely surprised at how much fun the trip was. I came here once a few years ago when my in laws were visiting and wanted to check it out and I honestly thought all the separate buildings were one set up like a flea market. On this, our second visit, after a yummy meal at Horny Toad Café we decided to do some browsing. We started at the end of the mall at the separate Antique Experience, which is over priced and has a small selection. We then wandered over here, expecting more of the same, but were very wrong! This place is huge!! So ginormous, I was afraid to get separated from my husband, but at one point it happened. I went to go back and check the price on something and somehow ended up half a mile away on the other side of the store like a lost child. Finally found him again, but the moral of the story is don't go antiquing without a buddy! Anyways, it took me a while to figure out, but this place isn't only an antique store. There are plenty of antiques and pieces with a cool history, there are also more modern items that fit in with people who go to garage sales and thrift stores looking for a treasure, also there are wares and services offered. Each dealer has a different section of the store and some are selling things they make and services, like making a really cool tree table. I tried to take pictures of some of the different areas to show you just how much variety there is! You want a model helicopter made of bullets? Check! You want an old time LED sign? Check! You want some vintage looking jewelry? Check! You want a 1920s parlor set? Oh my God, seriously? No really, check! I said 'Oh my Gooood, sooo cooool' multiple times from this vintage fold out desk to pre WWII toys to this awesome old toy box. The pictures I took were a very small sampling just to show how varied this shop really is. My husband really liked the fishing gear and instruments section. I also saw several sections dedicated to books and several to tools. If you have people visiting and you don't know how to keep all the different personalities entertained, you have a safe bet in setting them loose in here. They should all find something they want to check out with a huge price range to choose from. What would I change? Since it's unlikely that a dealer booth will be manned, it would be great if there was more staff and ways to tell them apart from the other customers. If you want to know more about a section, chances are high that you may have to go to the front of the store to find an employee and if you forgot to leave a trail of breadcrumbs, you may have a difficult time finding the thing you wanted to ask about, lol. This is definitely worth checking out to have something different to do, give it a try some time!

Nice Mall, with lots to look at BUT everything was so overpriced. I am really not sure how they stay in business with those prices.

I hope the adhesive was at least archival acid free. I brought a piece of art here a few years ago and didn't get the kind of glass I asked for, but it wasn't a huge deal, so I kept it as-is. I decided to give them another chance because I figured that was a misunderstanding and I like to shop small/local. I took an original watercolor to be float mounted and when I got it back it was just matted traditionally. I know he understood what I wanted when I dropped it off, because he told me how he was going to use spacers to keep the art from touching the glass, so it wasn't just a misunderstanding this time. Two chances is enough for me so I took it elsewhere to have it fixed. They opened it up right in front of me and there was my expensive original artwork, spray mounted to foam board. Time will tell if it starts to yellow and discolor. So upset and disappointed about all of this.

They are not business savvy enough to realize the mistake they made mistreating people in a movement that would bring them a lot of future business. A friend of mine rented this space with the goal of bringing Zumba events to Denton, and brought Instructors both local and from far and wide for a Zumba masterclass at this space. She had conversations prior with management to set expectations. They verbally agreed about the music being loud (That's Zumba!), the microphone and sound equipment needs, and she was assured that the needs would be met. Needless to say, on the day of the event, those agreements were flipped on the head. We were met with aggressive management staff that had their noses up in the air, who reprimanded my friend right in front of the whole crowd of people. They talked down to her and the rest of us who tried to have a reasonable conversation with them, as though we and the rest of the people who had come for the event were beneath them. Everything was a problem. The volume, apparently the sight of us in our skin, the colors, where we put our belongings, the way we breathed were met with hostility and disgust. It's stressful and hard enough to put on an event of that magnitude, so having the managers yelling at the event organizer caused her to break down crying. The managers were relentless, had no mercy and kept talking down to her and asking her to turn down the volume. The microphone stopped working which is horrible for a hosted Zumba event. The event organizer was never told that the event space would be open to the public and that people would be walking into an event that was paid for. One of the younger managers had the nerve to condescendly ask her if she hadn't looked at their website prior, to research what their organization was about. What does that have to do with someone paying you for an event that you agreed to? Let's be clear... These managers are racist and biased and don't want people such as "us" in their art gallery space. What kind of people are "we"? A teacher, an engineer, an actor/documentarian that is the inspiration behind you and your girlfriend's favorite Texan movie? CEOs of their own companies, business owners? These "kinds" of people. When the main manager saw the outpouring of love for my friend who put the event together, it literally dawned on her what the potential impact would be. Then she started to flounder, retract herself and start to make conversations to smooth things over. It was a little too late. At this point we already had such a bad taste in our mouths. It's such a missed business opportunity, because the Zumba community has events literally every other week. There would have been so many other Zumba events there if this had been a positive experience for us. It's quite unfortunate in this day and age that people are still so biased and judgemental. You have no idea who you are interacting with. Be careful how you treat people.
