I am very impressed with Sam Tielemans as a compassionate and competent Marriage and a Family Therapist. He is very knowledgeable about the kinds of struggles that couples face, and is skilled in teaching the techniques that are beneficial in helping couples adjust their negative patterns. When my husband and I were practicing the communication techniques Sam was very sensitive to the personal nature of our challenges, and showed empathy to both of us. We never felt like Sam was picking sides; rather, he saw us as a team, and he was our coach. I feel like the help provided by Sam is absolutely essential for ALL couples to know in order to maintain or to re-build a healthy and strong marriage. I really don't know how we made it 13 years without Sam's help, and we certainly have a lot of bad habits to fix now. The only negative is that his services don't accept our insurance. This is a major factor in deciding whether or not to continue therapy with him, because finances are already a marital stress, and we simply don't have the funds to pay out of pocket. I truly hope that he starts accepting insurance so we could continue seeing him. read more

My husband and I attended Sam's "Hold Me Tight" workshop and it was amazing! I was a little nervous at first because I have never attended a workshop like this before so I didn't know what to expect. But Sam was great to work with and I immediately felt comfortable with him. As soon as the workshop started I was drawn in by the amazing and helpful information Sam provided. It was hard to learn to be more vulnerable with my husband but by the end of the workshop we became so much closer and understood each other on a much deeper level. We were able to connect with each other much easier because of what we learned and are working on applying more of what we have learned into our marriage to keep that connection going. Sam articulated all of the information so well and I loved that he was willing to use personal experiences to help explain different points and topics in the workshop. My husband and I just went through the online communication course, and it was a GAME CHANGER! The information is eye-opening, the stories were so relatable, and I feel like I was really able to pinpoint what changes I need to make to improve my own communication. During each module, I felt like "this is the best part," and then I'd jump into the next one, and then that would be the best part! I feel like in the course I was able to receive all the tools and exercises, I would have taken away with a one-on-one session. I'm just so grateful that with this course, I now have exactly what I need to increase the intimate connection with my husband. I know I will be rewatching every video again and again!! My wife and I attended Sam's, "Hold Me Tight" couples workshop. He is an amazing counselor who is very open and sincere. He uses real life scenarios from his own life and others to paint a clear picture of the struggles we can all face as couples and how to overcome them through understanding and healthy expression of emotions. He helped us to realize the root of some of our own distress, we each carry in from our own lives, and facilitated productive expression of our emotions and the keys to understanding each other as a couple and avoiding conflict in the future. My husband and I attended Sam's Marriage Workshop and it was truly an amazing and helpful experience. The tools we learned have helped us so much in how we communicate with each other. Sam made the class so interesting that it was easy to loose track of time as we were so involved in what we were learning. Both my wife and I really benefited from this two day workshop. Every couple has issues, including my wife and me. We have been to couples therapy and didn't get too far. In previous couple therapy sessions with other therapists I was always a little put off that I had to focus on the present when I wanted to understand and work through our past issues. I really appreciated Sam's approach because we were able to start healing some of our past hurts. By the end of the session we felt closer as a couple. We still have a lot of work, but this is a great workshop if you want some tools to start the healing. read more

My wife and I attended Sam's workshop and we're so pleased with the results. The first day was a nice overview of the program and he set the tone for the following day where we would then get deeper into discussion about different aspects of a marriage. We'd break of into couples speradicly and Sam would come and visit with each couple ensuring that we were understanding the material and guided us where we needed help. I went through Sam's program because my wife and I were arguing a lot. We were doing it in front of the kids sometimes. I was surprised that after the first session we left with some techniques that made a difference right away. It's really been a game changer we're getting along so much better.
