It wasn't crunchy, but it was definitely jerky-like, and as such, it was difficult to eat and swallow, as the entire pieces of chicken had the jerky texture. I have all of my teeth but it still was super hard to eat the chicken! On the positive side, the sauces were delicious (one was a tangy savory one, and the other was a green chutney) as well as the accompanying sides. Lots of rice to be had in this dish! The steamed garlic chickpeas were very interesting, because they were a lot mushier than how I normally have them, and super flavored with melty shallots and garlic. The turmeric sticky rice balls were very cute, chewy, and sticky. The salad it came with was mostly cabbage mixed with some cucumber and tomato, but still refreshing. There was a side of ground sesame that I just sprinkled over everything. While the chicken was the least valuable player of the tray, it's still a cute presentation and will appeal to those who love to constantly chew. - Mohinga (Fish Chowder Noodle Soup) Fishy savory broth! I like the soft homemade fish cake slices as well as the contrast with the fried split pea fritter pieces. There is a lemongrass flavor to the broth that's not strong at all. Adding their homemade garlic chili oil gave the entire thing a big kick! Asian comfort food done well. - Nan Pia Thoke (Coconut Chicken Noodle Salad) That's a lot of noodles! It's a very pretty presentation with the shaved onions and cilantro. It mainly tastes like a light savory coconut curry noodle dish, eaten at somewhat room temperature. Chicken comes in easy to eat bite-sized pieces, and the noodles have a thicker chew than Love Khao Swe's other noodles. - Pandan Halawa Very yummy mochi-like dessert! I was extremely surprised, especially after the disappointment of having a dark and murky green color on mine compared to the bright green of the photos. You'd be surprised at how much flavor these things pack, and I love that you can eat it at both room temperature and heated for differing textures (firmer rice cake chew vs goopy mochi). It's such a subtle sweetness from the pandan with a lot of toasty nuttiness, almost like sesame. The poppy seeds add a pleasing grainy texture to the bites. Would always order this for a nice sweet treat if available.

The Red Curry Chicken had a nice coconut sweetness to it and the sauce was perfect for the white rice. Minced pork is always one of my safe dish, although this one was spicy, it was another good one to mix with the white rice. The tomyum chicken was spicy but not the kind of sour and spiky shock you'll get from the tomyum soup. The most disappointing dish however was the Pad Thai. It has no tofu which I don't mind and it has egg which is even better for me. But the sauce was not rich with depth, it was only sour. It was lacking that tanginess where I've tasted from other Thai food restaurant that is redder in color.

The chefs always include a personalized note with the meals which is another thing I really enjoy. I am also very impressed with the quality of the food for the cost. In searching the business, I reread my review and vaguely remembered my past visit, almost two years to the day. There were three ladies at the stand and the one who spoke with me described the five available sauces. The lady on the far left offered samples of each on request. After sampling two, I knew what I wanted. A couple days later, I decided to open one of two bags of plantain chips () that I bought. I stopped at that Amazon owned market and picked up a tub of mild pico de gallo that I wanted to have while fresh; not having other chips at home, these sweet yet crispy plantains offered a great contrast to the tart and acidic (lime juice and onions). After finishing that tub in one sitting, I opened my bottle of La Sticky Sauce (), which was the spiciest of their offerings. The first couple chips were fine. As I continued, that sauce literally creeped up on me as my mouth went to a slow burn mode as I sought a beverage to ease that sensation. I may need to have a glass of my milky next time dipping into this sauce. They are here only two Saturdays so today is their last appearance for this market until their time comes up again with La Cocina. So far, a much better experience than my Luke's Local delivery (which had dozens of black bugs) a few weeks prior. What really floored me was the included handwritten personalized thankyou card offering me $10 off my next order! Everything I needed was in the bag, I just had to provide my own olive oil, salt, and pepper, saran wrap (but pre-cut strings were provided!), and of course the cooking utensils/pots/pans/water. :) I love kits like these because they let me make one thing without having a surplus of ingredients that take up space, get forgotten about, and/or go bad. The directions were easy to follow and accompanied by great photos, and the only hard part was bagging the eggs in the saran wrap. I don't know how Amelia K. made it in 15 minutes, because it took me a solid hour to make the 4 eggs benedicts. :P Maybe I'm not as talented of a cook, but that's okay, because I was still able to follow the instructions successfully!! My fiance and I don't like runny eggs so I ignored the instructions to boil the eggs for 4 minutes "sharp" and let them boil until the yolks were for sure cooked thoroughly. (still ate it) I also decided to deviate from the recipe by making one of the eggs a sunny-side up, fried in the leftover bacon fat. Mmmmm... The last deviation I made was using garlic-flavored olive oil anytime the recipe asked for regular olive oil -- I used it to oil the saran wrap before bagging the eggs, I spread it on the English muffins just prior to toasting them, and I used it in the garnish. I love garlic. I was really happy with the final product and had way too much garnish leftover, but I mixed it with the excess arugula and it made a FANTASTIC salad. I'd do this recipe again. I was impressed that the recipe was printed on waterproof paper so I could save it and reuse it many times! :) Loved this experience -- highly recommended!
