Like any car owner, there comes a time where you know you need a car wash. Since I am unable to wash it by myself, I seek out car washes. Sammy's is relatively near me and highly rated, so it's the place I chose. To put it simply, I was never able to get my car washed here. I have visited 3 separate weekdays within their business hours (confirmed via Google + Yelp before even driving over!) and they have been closed. I have come once 30 minutes before their closing time and twice 2+ hours before their closing time. They were closed all 3 times during their listed business hours. I understand changing one's business hours or closing early once, but not updating your business hours online or having any signage displayed of closing early is not okay by any standard. Furthermore, given the appearance of the location and the lack of any signage displaying their business name or hours, I am honestly not even sure this place is open anymore for business. read more

Had a very rough day and was in dire need of car detailing. My car had been sitting idle essentially for about 8 months (parked under a tree) while I traveled. It was looking real bad and dirty af inside. I called Sammy's at around 1030am and was told to bring my car between 1130am - 12pm. Dropped my car off at 12pm and it was ready at 3pm, just like I was quoted. The man who cleaned my car shampooed every cloth surface, the floor mats, and even the trunk! All the dead leaves in the jamb were removed and a few scratches were buffed out. I was able to get a stunning car detail at an exceedingly fair price (imo). Wow! It was my first time getting my car detailed and so I was very nervous to pay a lot of money for not a great job. I found Sammy's car wash and chose it bc of the great reviews on Yelp. Although it was about $150 (average price in the area) to get my car detailed, washed, and waxes I would spend this again because of how new my car looked afterwards! I called Sammy that day and he was able to fit me in. He was very friendly and answered the questions I had before dropping my car off. The service took around 2 hours. There are multiple coffee shops around the area walking distance with WiFi where you could hang out. When I received my car I couldn't believe it was the same car! My car was dirty. Hadn't had a good wash in a few months and had some like sticky stuff like sap from a tree on one side. I tried to get it off but couldn't. I Couldn't find any quick car wash places to go to, Decided to come here because of the great reviews and glad I did. Dropped it off and they told me to come back in two hours and it was ready on time. There's stuff around to do while you wait and a little cafe spot right on the corner. I paid about $120 for a full detail and wash. My baby looked brand new again. The man said he had a hard time getting the sticky stuff off but he got it after a few times without ruining my paint. I went to have just the interior cleaned; however, Mr. Sammy said " We are going to clean everything very well and you going to pay the same." He is such an honest and sweet man. This was my go-to hand car wash for 3 years while I lived in Baltimore. I'd go twice a year, for the basic wash and wax, and interior clean, to protect against the winter and summers. I can't recommend this service enough. They even removed decals I wanted off as part of the clean. They never damaged my car and always left it spotless in detail. I have one of those car seats that stains easily, and all my seats were a tragic mess. The car wash up on Howard doesn't do seats and the guy he suggested i go to in White Marsh the price was outrageous. Then i remembered Elsa having reviewed this place a couple of years ago, so off i went. I booked an appointment for the following week. I dropped my car off , and Sammy said it will take two hours. Two hours on the dot, my interior was cleaned and the seat looked great and fantastic, they even washed my car and cleaned the interior. I couldn't be more pleased with the $75 + tip that i spent. Wow.... Going to Sammy's reminds me of just how relative things really are. I mean, to the person who has never had filet mignon, I can't knock you for thinking that ground beef is the bomb. Everything is relative to YOUR personal experiences. And Sammy reminded me of this. Now, for the past few months, I'd been regularly going to Smoke Detail Car Wash to get my ride spiffed out with a hand wash. And I must say, I swore by them! They really did do a great job and they were "budget friendly." But a couple weeks ago, I went by their spot, and it was a ghost town. Apparently they were gone...and so began my search for a new car wash spot. This past weekend, I had to make a quick run to Baltimore and I decided to do a Yelp search to see if there were any spots around worth trying. That's how I came across Sammy's. From where I was, he was about a half hour away, but because of the fantastic reviews, I didn't hesitate to make the drive. So when I got there, I showed Sammy a spot on my car where some idiot had brushed against me last week. Sammy and his crew immediately got on it. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnn, when they finally finished my car I was in complete AWE!!! My car looked BETTER than it did when I drove it off of the car lot! I (with my can't shut up self) was SPEECHLESS. They did a phenomenal job on my car. REALLY... I can honestly say that on April 6, 2014, I had the "filet mignon" of car washes. They really did an excellent job. And now when I look back on Smoke's... It's almost as if they were amatures. Not only that, but Sammy took a few minutes to explain how to really care for my car between waxes. He explained a variety of things to me that I was literally clueless about. I left there feeling like I was a better "car owner" because I now had new tips to help keep my car in tip-top condition. I know he's in Baltimore, but I think I found my new "go-to" guy! And YES, they do take a loooooonnng time to do your car, but that is because they clean every centimeter of ever nook and cranny in your car. But if you get tired of waiting, City Cafe is just across the street, so you can stop in and grab a bite to eat and kill some time. Anyway, if you are anywhere REMOTELY close to Baltimore, I'd highly suggest you check Sammy out. It is definitely worth it! P.S. I'm so thankful for you Sammy. My review is for a quick "consulting" experience. I brought in my car to see if anything could be done about some gunk on my windshield. I went through to few different car wash establishments and no one was able remove this crap. I finally took my car down to Sammy and he was very informative and helpful. Turns out this gunk was acid that leaked from the pipes in my parking garage ceiling. He said he's seen similar cases with a lot a damage and then pointed out to me the yellowish stains on the body of my car. He told me unfortunately there is no simple fix to the damage to the body of the car, but at least I didn't have a brand new Range Rover like the guy that came in before me. With some good spray and a lot of heavy scraping his guy was at least able to get the gunk off my windshield. I am extremely appreciative of Sammy's help and insight. Without this information, I would probably still be parking in spots under pipes and wondering what the hell is going on. read more

Disgustingly rude, I'm never going back. Called to ask if there was availability for a car wash, they said they don't take appointments for outside car washes and to bring the car and they would get to when they had time. Brought my car to Sammys that day and they said they had no availability and they would have never have told me to bring my car today, so they lied to me. Terrible customer service to not say they were fully booked, they wasted my time. They are only interested in expensive car washes which require appointments. I've also had attitude from them in the past when I was asked to pay cash only and I wanted change. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I nearly cried and had to give him a hug when I saw my car after he was finished. (Only took a little over two hours- when I've waited four hours for other places and then my car looked like I should have taken it to a gas station and vacuumed it out myself) NOT sammy's though. I would wait all day for this result and professional cleaning. The most amazing car detailing experience I've ever had! I've had my car for two years and take good care and vacuum myself about every other week. But I smoke occasionally, have had a dog in the car, go to the beach and river often.
