LOVE this Sams club location, conveniently located near Cottonwood Mall and Rio Rancho on the upper Westside. This location has the friendliest and most helpful staff! I am obsessed with the scan and go app! Makes life so much easier without the hassle of long lines and waiting! Also love the gas station with very reasonable gas prices and pleasant staff. It was honestly a fine visit for groceries until we got to the cafe after we checked out. The little girl there was pretty rude, and it didn't look particularly clean. We have been going to this Sam's Club for many years. Because of that we know some of the staff. They are good people. They'll spend some time with you, getting to know you. At least as much time as they can. :) This Sam's Club is clean and well maintained. We also have a membership with Costco. Some may ask why have a membership with Sam's Club, if you've got a membership with Costco. (And vice-versa.) We have found that Sam's Club has some items we cannot get at Costco; therefore, we maintain both memberships. We consider it worth our time and money. Your mileage may vary. I'd like to discuss Sam's Club mobile app. This isn't specific to this Sam's Club, you can use it here and any other Sam's Club I'm aware of. The Sam's Club app is exceptionally good. I love being able to put items into my shopping cart at this Sam's Club, then pull out the app, scan the UPC codes of the items. Then pay for everything, right on the app. When you do this the app performs the total of everything, generating a receipt of sorts. You can then leave the Sam's Club, showing the receipt to the Sam's Club person at the door on your way out. They scan the receipt off your phone and a few of the items you've scanned with the app from the cart. After that you're good to go. read more

The food court at this Sam's Club is dangerous. The cashier handles money and touches the cash register, then grabs food and drinks without washing hands or changing gloves. They seem to think that if they are wearing gloves, all is well. Other employees in the food court wear gloves and touch their faces, hair, dirty surfaces, then touch the pizzas, dogs, and food they are making. They don't realize that gloves are no cleaner than what they touch; no better than bare hands. I have complained to management more than ten times, to no avail. I have complained to corporate three times, and yet there has been no change. I have complained to the county health department, but apparently they have done nothing. I love Sam's hot dogs, but given the poor sanitation, I will not eat them. The main issue here is the lack of training and followup. People will do as they are taught if there is oversight that confirms compliance. That is obviously not happening at this Sam's Club. I worked in food businesses for almost sixty years, and have never seen such disregard for proper sanitary practices once the issues are pointed out. Any establishment can get lax from time to time, but when a customer complains about dirty hands, that should be the equivalent of alarm bells going off to get them back on track. At Sam's Club, they only care while the complaint is being made. Once they dutifully smile and say they will take care of it, they think they have taken care of the problem, and nothing changes. Today was a good example of what happens with each complaint: I pointed out to the manager that their food court was still not in compliance with sanitary practices. The manager smiled, said "thank you, I will take care of it", then made a phone call and kept working. When I was finished shopping, I checked the food court again, and nothing had changed. I went to the manager and said "just letting you know that nothing has changed in the food court, they're still handling food with unsanitary hands". She was not pleasant when she said "I addressed the issue". I said "but they are still serving contaminated food". She repeated "I addressed the issue". She turned away, making it clear that she was done with me. Long story short: don't eat at Sam's food court. If you do, at least watch how they handle your food, and if you see that unsanitary hands are about to touch the food you will put in your mouth, ask them to change their gloves. And when they say that their gloves are clean (yes, they have said that to me several times), remind them what they have touched with those gloves and ask if they would put that in their own mouths. read more

Sams club is my go to store. When I need big or small they always have what I need. I used to do the concession stand at my kids school for all sports and I would go to Sams to get all my products. Sometimes I would get it myself and most times I would order it and pick it up. The people there are very nice, accommodating and efficient. The curbside pickup is so nice. Horrible customer service and they treat you like a criminal after you paid and pretend as if it's a secret club mandating you to show membership to even enter.. I bought $120 worth of stuff where the employee scanned it at the self check out. Then I wondered if he had scanned one item and realized they didn't. Being the honest person I am I went to membership / customer service! And said I'd pay for it. They refused to do their simple job and cash me out. Then I had to go back all the way over and only speak to a supervisor to pay. I asked for a discount for my honesty and the inconvenience to supervisor Kyle. I'm a business owner and they made me move all of my items for my business from the cart to a new cart to leave the store. This defies logic and I will never use self checkout again, they will just have to increase labor. I'm talking giant boxes of copy paper and sodas all as a security thing apparently? If I wasn't going to scan an item I could still just as easily not scan it and transfer it from one cart to the other. And what if I just do the skip the line app method where you scan and go while shopping? There would be no basket transfer. Again, little things like this making a business customer feel like a criminal without any logic in their clearly flawed ideas is why I'll be canceling both my 2 restaurant accounts and my personal top tier account and will be giving all that business to Costco. read more

I am not happy with Sam's Club because some items are not eligible for home delivery or shipping (they are eligible for shipping, just not to my address). Their eyeglasses are out of stock. Their produce is not the freshest. They do have cheaper prices on some items when compared to Amazon, but Amazon delivers quickly and are able to deliver. read more

Sunday, August 14 we went to Cottonwood Corner's Sam's Club, we parked on the far north east side. There was a man on the sidewalk when we got out. He said Hi, I said hi. He proceeded to tell us (11 year old, 28 year old and 60 year old) the most sexually foul things. I told him no thanks, we will pass and we kept walking. He told us he would be waiting for us. When we got in the building I told the woman checking cards. She called the manager, he told us he would go out there and check it out. He found us later and told us the man was not out there, he may be in the store. When we were done shopping if we wanted him to walk us to our vehicle he would. We got to the exit door I asked the woman to call the Mgr. to he walk us out. She called, he was busy and the Asst. Mgr. came. I told her what was going on, told her she may want to get a male to walk with her, she did. As we were going out, the Mgr. came running, he walked us to our car. He has restored my faith in the younger generation. I called the store today, his name is Josh, he is a team lead and Mgr. of produce. Thank you Josh for going above and beyond. Was just in the Sam's club on Coors. My wife and I had 13 items in our cart and while we were waiting for the self check out I positioned all of the bar codes face up to scan them quickly. The lines were long. While we were finally checking out a person approached us to tell us we needed to move all of our items from one basket to another. This person was wearing a jersey and not a Sam's club vest or uniform. My wife kept scanning until this person made us stop finally showing us a name tag. I believe her name was Denise. She proceeded to tell us again that we needed to move all of our items over to the empty basket because too many people were stealing items and this was their policy. I told her no because that would be slower and we were almost done. She then positioned herself between my wife and I so and started telling my wife the same thing while continuing to slow us down. We literally had 3 more items to scan and we would be done. My wife told her that she was dealing with and illness and was moving a little slow. In a condescending voice she asked if we needed her help moving items to the other basket. Again I said no, we are almost done and that would just be slower and asinine. She continued to hover over us and tell us about the basket policy until my wife asked her to leave us alone because she was now harassing us. It seemed that her whole point was to try and bully us and slow us down even further. She took only a few steps away to stand at the end of our register and still watch over us. Other words and attitude were displayed from her position. After finishing our transaction, as we were walking away, this person made a point of taking a few steps and leaning closer to us to tell us to have a "nice day" with a snotty childish voice. We then had to stand in an even longer line for the person at the door to check our basket. If these are the policy to loss prevention, I think Sam's club needs to come up with better ideas or have more open registers with employees checking out items. I'm writing a review because customer service was no help when we called to make a complaint. read more

So I bought a vacuum in Santa Fe and it was supposed to be a Carpet Cleaner but the items were under the wrong sign and I didn't pay close enough attention. We waited in line a LONG time. A very long time. The clerks really seemed to be trying to do their best but seemed very untrained and weren't sure even what to do. Then because it was over a $100, we had to have a Supervisor sign off. I have moved to ABQ and used to shop at Sams weekly in Santa Fe, I am not sure this will be my favorite haunt anymore. Efficiency is important. You don't have to be lightening fast but 30-45 minutes is a long time. I haven't tried shopping there yet, we saw the long lines and decided not to finish shopping there and off to Costco we went. read more

I was recently given a new mommy membership by SAMs Club which is amazing. New mommies need the support and the supplies. Already a A+ in my book. Great promotion I hope they run it again. The store was clean and well organized. They check cards at the door to endure only members get in which is nice. Keeps unnecessary crowds down. I had no issues finding things but the selection was so vast I ended up wandering anyways. So many cool things. I can see how you could get in trouble here lol. It adds up fast. The staff was helpful and nice. The check out was quick and efficient. They packed all my items for me and put them in my cart. I didn't get a chance to try the food court out but I peeked at a few people eating and their food looked awesome. Can't wait to try it out. read more

I was in yesterday. I thought I had left my membership card there somehow the week before. They told me they shredded any cards they found, so to come in to get a new one. After waiting in the outside line in the hot sun, finally got in and went to Customer Service for a new card. After 5 minutes wait while one customer in front of me was being helped, I was getting irritated. After 10 minutes wait with no acknowledgement from the rep that I was there, I got angry. After 15 minutes, I was furious. Around this time, the rep called someone for help with that one customer. They showed up and apparently fixed the problem in ap. 30 seconds. I grabbed this rep. and asked him for help. It took about a minute to get my new card. I complained to him about waiting 15 minutes, but he blew it off. I googled this and read most customers will walk off after a 5-10 minute wait. I could not do this, because I would have to wait in line again just to get in the store if I left. This and lack of apology or any other thing to make it up to me made it hard to forget. I called the store today (next day) and asked to talk to a manager. After 10 minutes on hold, I hung up. FU Sam's Club. You are not the only game in town. I don't want to spend my money at a place that treats me like this. read more

This Sam's Club saved the day after the awful experience we had at the other location. The folks at the meat department were friendly, helpful, and experienced. They had no problem cutting the beef tenderloin for us. The gentleman (I think Phillip was his name) was so kind and helpful. Went to jewelery section to buy my wife some diamond studs and nacklace. Stood at the counter waiting for someone to ask me if I needed assistance. Both women working there comoletely ignored me and instead decided to place their focus on an older gentleman that ended up buying a pair of $90 garnet earrings. Not only did they ignore me throughout, even in my attempts to get their attention, she placed the cars swipe machine right in front of me as if to try and move me aside for this other customer. So, instead of making somewhere in the range of $4000 in sales from a younger man in a designer sweater and watch. They made a $90 sale to a man in a patch job thrift store coat and ill fitted highwater slacks. Learn to identify the higher value sale, pick up a magazine, or scroll through Pinterest. Just because a man is 30 years young, does not mean he isn't worth at least a, "how can I help you?" Needless to say, I will not be stopping by there after being insulted and disrespected that way. I moved here since May 1.2011 from east coast. Since I became a member Sam's club, I found the price of gas was lowest than other any gas station. Feb 21 price/gal was $3.099 , other gas station price/gal $3.19 . Also they has fresh fruits and veges. I don't remember renew fee, well since I moved here I usually visit 2-3 times month to get a gas and 1-2 times a month to get foods and groceries. Also lots of jewelry , rings , watches for man and woman. read more

The main reason we are members of this store is that we travel by road across the country several times a year and many times a town that does not have a Costco (my preferred store) will have a Sam's Club. Sams club a huge big box company where you can find anything from laxatives to cell phones to steak to tires. Lots of everything and lots of people getting lots of everything. I know they're are lots of people who like to buy 20 rolls of tp for their home, I'm not one of them. There's not much that draws me to sams club i would never go if i didn't have a roommate that requires assistance. On weekends they are sample galore. I've had baked goods from sams and it's tasty not like a lil bakery where you get fresh from the oven rolls but their items are edible. Hubby and I have been members at Sam's for as long as we've been in Albuquerque. When we moved here in 1993, there wasn't a Sam's to be seen; we joined Pace (owned by KMart Corp) and shortly thereafter, Sam's bought out Pace and changed the names, and we became Sam's members. I WILL NOT ALLOW my membership to lapse. Hubby and I are in there two or three times a week, we buy most of our gas there, we've bought tires and televisions, we buy all of our pet supplies, most of our meat, lots of canned goods, most paper products, and always spend much too much money--we'll go in for one or two things, and end up with a bill over $200!! But that's okay--I have a huge pantry and two freezers, so it's okay--nothing spoils. The only thing I DON'T like is that I can't buy just one loaf of break at their wonderful prices--and one loaf always goes bad before we finish the other. I might as well just keep buying one at a time at another grocery, huh? I truly like Sam's. read more

I haven't decided whether I like Sam's or Costco better. Sam's usually isn't as crowded. They have different items, so I like going to both. The only thing that sucks is how crowded it can get at times. Other than that, it's a "must" for our family. It's a great place to get gifts, food, flowers, and everything in between. If you stop by on the weekends, be careful of all of the food sampling stands! You may get suckered into buying something delicious! :) read more
