I am waffling between 2 and 3 stars. First of all, I would never have joined except for the $15 membership. But for $15, I will give it a try. My review may be biased because I don't like Walmart. They need to pay employees more. I am a Costco kind of girl. At noon on a Monday, the parking lot was full but the store seemed empty. Certainly customer service was. I was expecting to get a physical card but they were out. So I will have to figure the app out. The appearance of Sam's compared to Costco is that it is more dark and dingy. Seemed like a sad store to me. The entrance had flowering baskets but not the big beautiful stuff Costco carries. But unlike Costco, the aisles are labeled. Costco moves stuff around. That is frustrating I was there for 4 things which their app said they had. Nope, only had 2 of what I came for. This store is more than 20 miles away and with current gas prices I like to know if they are out. Costco's app tells me when something is in stock or low stock. Not having what I came in for was a real turnoff. Prices. Comparing prices they are close to the same as Costco. They also carry many of the Kirkland brands under their Members Mark label. I did not see any of the good premium brands that Costco carries at an extremely good discount. Quality...I will get my baked goods from Costco. Sam's bakery is not enticing. Same with prepared foods. Produce looked more iffy as well. Samples...didnt try them. They weren't clearly marked and the people manning various sample stations clearly weren't interested in dispensing them. Checkout was easy but confusing. Were those weird things self checkout because unlike Costco, you can also scan items as you put them in your cart and just leave. The checkout woman was friendly. When I approached checkout, there were only 2 customers for all the registers. All in all, for me, Sam's is 20 mi away, Costco 40. I will drive the 40 miles unless I am in the Mansfield area. At least Costco lets me know in their app that what I want is in stock plus I love the Costco bakery and prepared foods. But having written this, if you are a Wal-Mart person, Sam's may be right up your alley. I like brighter happier stores. This store was dingy and sad even though the store itself was clean. I will not renew my membership unless it stays at $15!!!! read more

Why is it 99% of the time that I shop at the Sam's in Ontario, Ohio, I have to wait in line for at least 10 minutes because ONLY 1 cash register is open? I refuse to use your self checkout. If I wanted a job at Sam's, I'd fill out an application. There are always Sam's Club employees hanging around near the checkout area. I've approached them asking for help. They tell me it's not their job and that this Sam's location is short on employees. Don't my dues go towards paying cashiers? read more

I really enjoy Sam's club at the moment..I don't go all the time. But when I have I have enjoy the items..the only thing at the moment is like every where else is not enough lines are open to checked out .they need more people to checked you out. Didn't get the 45.00 I was promised. Came in, got groceries, and had to go to membership to convince them to give the credit to me. Had to stand in line twice, and if you know Sam's club, that is time consuming. read more

This is by far the worst Sam's Club! As a convenience store owner are used to spend around $100,000 a year here. Now I spend about 7000. They quit selling tobacco as well as candy bars and many other convenience store items. So that forced me to set up an account with Hackney to provide all my convenience store needs. Frequent shopper for the last 12 yrs or so. This store has gotten really bad. After you enter the front entrance, your forced to go through a narrow aisleway through the electronic section. Dumb set up. The main aisle is once again clogged with pallets of products. Makes for getting around other shoppers difficult. Was told a few days ago that soon you will have to download an app to ur phone in order to get gas at the pump. In a few yrs, the whole store is going for automation. Meaning, people that work in there will lose their jobs. Also, when the automation does take place and you dont have a smart phone, you wont be able to shop there. Thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard of. I dont support this automation and I plan on giving the manager my membership card next year when the card is up for renewal. read more

Weekly shopper for 10 years. Over that time period, the quality of the food products has deteriorated. "Members Mark", brand is taking over the shelves. Members Mark brand is cheap and low in quality. If I wanted low quality, I would go next door to Aldi's. Purchasing fruit here is real gamble. I would advise picking up oranges somewhere else. You have to be careful shopping here first thing in the morning. The lady that runs the floor sweeper will not give you the right away. I am constantly watching over my shoulder, so she doesn't run over me. Mansfield needs a Costco. read more
