I normally love Sam's Club. I got really frustrated with curbside pick on Tuesday 1/20/26. I had preordered my stuff the night before. I picked the 6-7pm pickup and got there at 6:30pm. There were at least 8-12 cars parked for pickup and nothing was happening. I almost canceled my order a couple times. I am a Sam's Plus and never have had to wait like this. I even called the store number and employee said they are short handed and getting a lot of complaints. I found out Plus members used to be the ones who got curbside service but now everyone can get it! If you are going to do that...I will not be using curbside anymore, you had one employee who finally showed up with someone's order. He was swamped. You need to hire 8-10 employees if you let everyone do curbside. That was not fair to the employee who was working past 8pm and after and said he got off at 5pm. I did not get all the items I ordered and will be reconsidering my membership renewal. I had great service with a "home delivery" from Sam's since I recently had broken my wrist. The previous curbside awhile back went smooth. I know we had cold weather/freeze alerts but that didn't come until Friday evening. I had been hearing some complaints from others but did not know how bad it is. Management needs to hire more workers if you allow everyone to do curbside service. Finally some gal came out to help the nice young man who was pulling groceries and loading cars. My app said my order was ready... I left work early to get my groceries and then sat there, didn't get them till 815-8:30pm and I needed the assistance with the "heavy water" my arm is still healing ‍. read more

I purchased four Cooper endeavor tires Sam's club tire center. Their customer service is truly terrible. Apparently the technician was not knowledgeable as to the amount of air that should go on the tires. So I call back to see about bringing the car up to the next day the manager by the name of Jay told me to bring it and he would look at the vehicle himself. I have been sitting here almost an hour and he has not come out to address me. He has been asked on two different occasions to come and assist me he is not come yet. Also everyone is avoiding the issue and their assistant at the same technician that installed the tires with the wrong air pressure to look at them again. That would be a negative for me. I would NOT return to this Sam's Club only because it's very time consuming. They only have two aisles open, and then at the door they have someone who goes through each and everything in your cart. I purchased some pants early this week to see how I liked them. I came back the next day and noticed they were gone. I asked a sales member what happened to them and she (Brenda) said she didn't know but wrote down my information and would find them. She called me the next day letting me know the status of the pants and that she is talking to a night shift employee and trying to locate them. She is going above and beyond to help me on such a small issue. Everyone needs employees like Brenda. read more

Pros: They carry quite a few very yummy items that aren't available anywhere else locally, especially frozen items. They carry a good selection of high quality meats. They carry several produce items which I find to be of usually higher quality than other local stores and often at lower prices, asparagus especially comes to my faltering mind (btw, Google: asparagus pee). They are usually giving out tasty prepared food samples during their peak hours, especially during the holiday seasons. They often have a table with good quality casual t-shirts with decent designs for around $4.99 but they tend to sell out fast after they are put out. Often lower gas prices than area competition. Cons: Membership cost to shop here (or go to the customer service counter and get a temporary pass and pay a surcharge on whatever you purchase) I only buy their membership when they offer a deal through Groupon and other sources at half price and give you free product coupons to reimburse you for the other half, otherwise, it wouldn't be worth it to me. You must not have had a membership for 1 year, spouse rotation comes in handy there. Their customer service is almost nonexistent. They have always refused to accept Visa credit cards but that is supposed to change...as of today Feb 1st 2016 they are supposed to start accepting Visa Credit cards. It frequently takes a long time to check out. They seem to turn their gas pumps off when they go home and they don't display their current gas price to street traffic so you either have to drive up to their pumps or go check their sign near the store entrance. I find that most of their 'bulk buy and save' items are a scam. If you check it out and calculate it, you will find you are only taking up valuable space in your home (unless you are a Prepper stocking a large hidden food stash for when all hell breaks loose...just know that I am watching you haul in all that survival gear and I know about lock picking and bumping and I'm making mental notes for when that day comes. j/k....or am I? My family comes 1st) As soon as you know exactly where to beeline it to all your favorite items, Sam's moves them to a different area. I am told they do this to make customers have to walk up and down all their aisles discovering additional items to purchase so they can get even more of your money. We had a membership for years when they were located 2 miles from us. Then they move to the other side of town where we never ever go to so we dropped our membership. Good prices with good quantity. I personally eat a lot of pork, chicken and fish (I eat more than 3 men and I cook all day. lol) so, I love buying meat at Sam's more than any other grogery store. Sam's club has almost everything I need with good prices. To begin I'm a Business member and have been for a few years. I've gone to several locations in Utah and Arizona mostly. All seem to maintain certain standards that make the experience of shopping there at the very least pleasant. There are two locations here in Shreveport Louisiana where we've moved to due to business. The one on youree drive has failed me for the last time. First two times I dismissed the poor customer service and dirty food court as well as not having enough pizza to sell me a full pizza of the combo or the 3 meat even though it was 2 hours before closing on one occasion. This time however, I was at the self check out and I had innocently thought that maybe I could take a bottle of wine through there unlike Walmart, but I also thought "well maybe I won't be able to since Walmart is in unison with sams, in that case I was prepared to let go of the wine since it wasn't that important that I take it or not". That's when the most unpleasant employee came up to me and yelled "uh uh you ain't takin that"! And I understood that she was probably referring to the wine, but I wanted to make sure and said "I'm sorry, what do you mean" and she said "you can't take that" and shoved her pointer finger in the cart and stared me down. I said ok and then she said you can pay for it at the other checkout with an uncaring and despicable tone. I said "no thanks" and went to sit down and realized that all the employees were talking to each other in a very displeasing way and disrespectful to each other in front of children and on top of it all the tables and floors were nasty as if they hadn't been cleaned in a day or two. I probably won't go back to that location again but I highly suggest something be done about it, since having a location run the way that place is cannot be as profitable as the other ones. They haven't ever checked my membership upon entering, never have checked my receipt upon leaving and many of the employees act very rude to other members. I'm not sure if it's just a shreveport thing to be rude and unpleasant, or they've just accustomed themselves to having stores like this and are okay with terrible customer service and overall unpleasant environments. Could be I'm just used to a different environment, I don't know, but it looks bad. The cashiers treat the customers like they're lousy friends by yelling and using slang, I honestly don't know why those displeased customers would ever come back or don't say anything to a manager. I'm going to try to get a hold of a manager tomorrow and see if anything happens. Most of the employees also look as if they're just lounging around chatting up with their friends who are the other employees, as in not doing any type of real work. I must admit I love Sam's Club but I seem to have a Love/Hate relationship with them also. Not sure if it is me or not but the lines seem to get longer and longer everytime I walk into this place. Now I also have a membership at Costco and it could be I'm comparing the two. But if so that is normal to do. Lately Sam's does not have the variety of food tastings that I use to love from back in the day. The meat choices are high quality and there are a large selection of frozen food choices that no one has but good ole Sam's Club. My family size is not as large as it use to be but the we still like to buy in bulk to prevent from going to the store every week. The appliances they carry are with top brands and the prices are very affordable. I have bought frezzers, refrigerators and other items that have saved me money over the years. So I will always keep my business card membership for the great benefits of being able to shop earlier than other guest and extra discounts from other members. However I will have to get my mind rapped around the longer lines and the lack of the food tastings. I will say that Costco is my top and first choice but I will for keep hold of my business Sam's Club member for now. read more

I am a member of Sam's Club, which you have to be in order to use their gas pumps (ooooooh, the privileges. the exclusivity of it all...can you say high roller? Yeah-Yeah-uh! )...But not only that, you have to have your membership card on you in order to use these pumps. You have to swipe your card. These pumps are also unmanned, and there is no cubicle, cubby hole, phone booth-type device with a clerk in it. Just the pumps, and that's it. Although these are Sam's pumps, they are more so in front of Red Mango, Sumo Buffet and Dollar Tree. What peeves me about these pumps is that in addition to having a soulless, the machines have taken over kinda vibe is the fact that this place also seems to keep sister hours with the actual Sam's Club, so if the warehouse is closed, these pumps are also shut off as I found out one unfortunate Sunday evening, as I coasted in on the last gasp of fumes of gasoline from an empty tank. Ugh. But if you are a proud member and you can hit this place during open hours, typically, it's got the cheapest gas in town. read more

But I'll be going back bc they misspelled my name on the card. That's just annoying lol. I got an awesome deal on pediasure for my son. Checkout was the weakest link. So hard for me not to look at performance issues and what they could have been different to improve efficiency of services due to my job and training. No matter what day and time I visit, it takes longer to check out than shopping. Not enough people at the checkout registers when it is so busy and I see people just chat and hang out with "closed" sign at their registers. Self check is not as fast as it should be. Too many people try to check out more than 10 items and then of course those people often don't know how to use self check out kiosk properly and hold the line. I appreciate the fact that SAMs club exist and Wish they pay more attention to services. read more

After standing in line for 10-15 minutes on my lunch break, hoping I'd get to grab a few things while I was there, I was told I needed the member number and there were instructions online. Here are the weak points: 1- I had this bad experience with some dud at the snack bar couple of times. 2- Dates and ground New Zealand lamb meat (imported) are not available in this store. 3-Most of the staff is weaker than any other store I have seen in other locations when it comes to assist customers. I'll explain the rating first. I won't put A-OK or higher until the racism stops. This has happened many times, both here and in Salt Lake and we have let it slide, but enough is enough. After waiting in line behind TWO customers that had problems checking out, my husband finally got checked out and on his way. Then, after waiting behind six or seven carts FULL that the checker at the door just eyeballed and swiped out, HE was singled out as she proceeded to count every single item and then declare, "You didn't pay for the water." At which point he took it out and dropped it into a cart nearby. She then said, "You don't have to throw it." Exasperated at that point he then said, "She didn't ring it up. There is a difference. Tell them to do their F*ing job." Now, if anyone has ever been accused of shoplifting unjustly, I will assume that they understand the embarrassment and frustration at being accused in front of a crowd of people. It is extremely humiliating. Multiply that tenfold, because it happens almost on a daily basis to people of color, and you just MIGHT be able to grasp the feeling. So she not only insulted him by accusing him of stealing, she then added insult to injury by being rude to boot! This is the type of thing that people of color deal with on a daily basis. These are the indignities that, when piled up, day after day, week after week, year after year, lead to people losing their shit and doing awful things that can't be taken back. So the next time you see someone treated rudely, instead of automatically "going to the dark side", how about trying to think reasonably? She could have simply said," It looks like your cashier forgot to ring up the water. Do you want to go back or leave it here?" I am done now. I have a manager to speak to. read more
