The location is the reason for 4-stars... it's conveniently located right off the highway and goes against traffic from our house, during peak hours. There were plenty of spots and it wasn't chaotic inside the store. They were however, out of a several few fresh food items (salads and stuffed salmon), or some of the items looks spoiled. The holiday stuff is always great and makes shopping for kids gifts a bit easier! Downside: they are under staffed with registers and people to help with the self checkout area. I would absolutely pick this location over the Brentwood/Maplewood one. read more

I came in today to do a gift return. Lindsey was the manager on duty to help. Lindsey had an attitude the ENTIRE time. I was very calm, tried to help, had corporate on the phone, and was very patient. Lindsey kept saying if I didn't stop my attitude she wasn't going to help me. The. Lindsey was talking badly about me on the walkie and I could hear her. Lindsey said she was the store manager which she is not. Apparently Stephen is the store manager. I will be filing a complaint against her. It was a very stressful situation with her involved which even per the gentleman on the phone was not needed and he stated she was wrong. As Plus members the store hours in the door say they open at 7 am, we'll I guess they don't do as they say. It's 1/4 after and here we sit the employees coming and going and they haven't opened the store. This is ridiculous! Pay extra for better benefits and then you don't get the benefits you're paying extra for. They already have the worst customer service next Walmart and now this. I'm giving 3 stars because I don't have any other problems with this store or location except for the sushi they sell. and I know it's store bought sushi so it's not going to be the greatest anyway, but it literally gave me and my boyfriend the worst food poisoning we've ever had. We were both throwing up and nauseous for an entire day we both had to call out of work it was NOT a fun time. Sooooo, I'm a member just for the gas station! The prices are consistently lower than other area stations. The wait can sometimes be a bit long and some pumps are (seemingly randomly) out of service, though it's worth the wait for the consistent savings. There's always an attendant on duty, should you need assistance - and a brand new car wash, as of 2021, with prices as low as $7. I haven't utilized it, as I'm a monthly member at another local joint. Totally off topic...but there was an old school pay phone there until somewhat recently, which always made me smile. read more

One brand of contact solution is $4 more than the same brand at Walmart, while a certain deodorant is $1.50 less per unit at Sam's, but you have to buy a pack of four. Still, for the discerning shopper, it's a great place to shop. Especially on the app. And if you're an impulse buyer, put your stuff in the cart and come back to it in a day or two. So we bought tires off the website and had them delivered because it's nearby. What a tragic mistake that was. We called for a week to setup installation: no answer on the phone for a whole week. So we figure they must be super busy and go up to the store and half a dozen of them are just standing around. The "team lead" Josh (god help that team, this guy is a serious clown) books us for the "reserved spot" which is on Labor Day at 3pm. So naturally we think that means we are set right? Not so fast, on Labor Day morning at 8am they start calling us to reschedule. My wife gets to the phone and obliges. We reschedule for 1pm, we go up and some mumbling guy we can't understand and "josh the team lead" let us know they don't have any 1pm appointments. Obviously we got it sorted out for the them since they have no idea what's going on around them at any given moment. So I go to pick up the car after an hour and they don't know when it will be ready. It's tough to estimate. They "don't understand my questions". They "will call us" Just avoid the place. read more

I stopped at this Sam's on a Tuesday morning at maybe 7:30-8am. I get up early! Picked up a bunch of things for work and headed to the checkout. As the cashier was scanning my order Matt, from the pick-up desk, walked over to help make sure she got everything since my cart was pretty full. He asked if I found everything I needed. I said well I needed #10 envelopes with peel and seal and no window. You don't have any out. He brought the item up on his phone and I confirmed that was what I wanted. He said they had 47 of them up on a rack somewhere and sent someone with a fork lift to go find them. Ten minutes later I had my envelopes and was on my way. We shop here weekly. On one trip here ,I lost my new Mercedes keys .To replace it would cost hundreds . I was more worried about the car being stolen. Apparently a common event in St Louis area. The two employees that assisted me in the search were great.I checked back often . After 2 weeks had passed I received the phone call that some employee had found them. Not only do they not tell you until you're at the cash register than you need to be apart of some membership to shop with them (akin to Costco- except Costco tells you ahead of time) but their deals and inventory were lackluster, and the employees were unhelpful and unfriendly. I will never shop here again. It has definitely gone downhill. However I am appalled by the bakery dept. I placed an order three days ahead of the date needed. I filled out the form since the two employees were busy taking out cakes and products from the freezer. I was not acknowledged until I yelled out I needed help. Positive - It is clean and the signs are accurate. The sample people aren't as aggressive as they once were and they sell EVERYTHING, even stuff you didn't know you needed - 500 jello shot cups, 128 oz. of olive oil. Negative - They need more checkout aisles to be open, I would say they run at 60% capacity even on Saturdays. I visited the store on Saturday, March 27 around 7:00 pm to make a return. As I walked up to the entrance an employee was standing in the doorway vaping. He walked into the store and the door greeter instructed me to follow the employee who was vaping to the return desk. As I walked through the doorway, I walked through the vapor. The employee had his name tag flipped backwards so I could not see his name. I called the store that night and again the next day to speak with a manager and no one ever answered the phone. read more

My husband and I came here the other day for passport photos, and we were extremely disappointed with the service. We asked 4 people to call someone to the photo department and waited 20 minutes before anyone could tell us why there was no one in photo. Then we were told both the employees in photo were on their lunch break at the same time. Once an employee arrived, he rushed me off to the booth and took two quick snaps without showing me the results. When I went to pay for the photo, I asked to see the images and he looked very disgruntled at the fact I asked to see the pictures. The photos had shadows in weird places, but I'm hoping that they are accepted because I don't want to deal with the unhelpful attendents again. If I could give 0 stars... You know that makes for a bad, bad review. Allow yourself a few minutes to read, this is lengthy! My body is physically tired from ordering cakes thru this location's bakery. The staff made me feel like a complete inconvenience, failed to acknowledge my presence after making eye-contact on at least 2 separate occasions, did not feel it necessary to guide me thru the cake ordering process, refused to assist in paperwork, calling it 'easy' and 'self-explanatory'. The African American woman whom wears wireless earbuds is the least favorable, excusing herself and her co-workers due to 'busy weekends' and 'multiple phone calls'. Unless a co-worker walks by from another department, she seems content remaining far away from the front portion of the bakery where she may encounter guests. After submitting my orders, I took my complaints to the customer service desk. Upon pickup, disappointment brought me to tears. The orders I placed did not, at all, match up and/or resemble what I was hoping to receive. My irritation and disappointment became overwhelming as I recalled the lack thereof 'customer service' I received when attempting to order. After explaining to a manager the entire scenario, he asked what could be done. I replied with nothing, absolutely nothing; my expectations had been shattered and there was no time for replacement(s). The outcome of this experience leaves me wanting to leave Sam's Club, as a member, and switch over to Costco. I've heard their produce is also much more favorable. If you are in the market for a cake, please save yourself the time, the funds, the frustration, etc. Any establishment able to bake and decorate a cake would bring you more joy than Sam's Club St. Charles. I was helped as needed, and friendly checkout was a breeze. This was a rather short trip, as I had other places to go in the area, and didn't have a big enough cooler to accommodate some things to survive all the other stops. Then I asked for a cancellation and refund and the was told to google the corporate number. I finally got ahold of corporate who looked into the order using the tracking number and order number I had in the app, and was told the items were returned to the club. I would give this zero stars but a 1 star is my only option. I went in to return or exchange a pair of earrings that didn't work for me that my husband got me for valentines. We were there for 30 minutes waiting at the jewelry counter before the RUDE jewelry person Tracy even said a word to us. There was her and a managed helping a couple and they could have helped us 20 times over while the couple was on the phone and on their personal computer. After 50 minutes I asked the jewelry person if she could help me and she said no because she was busy with the other customers. I walked away to look for a manager and the manager was rude too. What should have been a 15 minute adventure turned into an hour. I will never come back here and probably even cancel my membership after I return these earrings. Costco it is! read more

I just wanted to thank Sams Bakery for saving my party I had planned on Mother's Day. Schnucks made a cake for son's baptism and when I went to pick it up the day before my party it was horrible. Icing was poorly done and was about 30.00 for a small cake that would not have fed 15 people even though they said it would. I called Sam's bakery at 3pm on one of their busiest Saturday's and the nice lady said she could decorate a sheet cake and personalize it and it would be ready in ten minutes. This Sam's club is one of the worst in the St.Louis area. If you want a cart good luck there are never any inside they are always in the parking lot; and if you are or someone you're with is handicapped and needs a motorized scooter best of luck to you; they're always all gone, broken, or in the parking lot because no one brings them in. Once you get inside hope you like rude employees- (now there are some who are great and have been here for years, but the new younger crop have no respect and definitely don't have the service employee mentality- now before you go thinking I'm an old man who likes to gripe, I'm a 30 year old woman who has no problem walking or anything but my mother and grandmother who I usually come with to help them with their shopping do have issues walking; and I have worked in the service industry since I first started working and have been a manager for multiple companies So I'm aware of how you should act and treat customers and yes I understand some are jerks but when a customer asks you for a cart or when there will be some reply to that question then say what you need/want from them. Example "do you have any carts coming" "they're working on it; while you wait can I see your membership" Not "do you have any carts coming" "FIRST SHOW ME YOUR MEMBERSHIP THEN I'LL ANSWER". Also to add the cherry on top off the whole suckfest that this Sam's location is hope you like bad produce because somehow the things they sell have gone bad and spoiled even though the date haven't passed expiration. read more
