I like our local Sam's Club. The store is always clean and organized. Most things are easy to find. I would say our favorite thing here is the food. Literally the best hot dogs you can get. I mean, hot dog and drink for $1.38? Yes.... indeed! They have excellent pizza and pretzels, too. We buy our paper goods here; toilet paper and paper towels. We are only a family of 2 so buying food in bulk isn't for us but comparing their prices to Walmart, if you have a large family especially with kids, this really is a bargain in comparison. We recently purchases a set of four tires at Sam's. The price of the tires was significantly lower than any other offer we found, and the service was outstanding in every respect. Daniel, the manager of the tire and battery department, and the technicians he supervises are true professionals in every respect. Daniel answered all of our questions and concerns and the total time for removal of the old tires and installation of the new ones was 45 minutes. Went to Sam's Club for the first time and used my mother in laws card. We were thinking about getting our own membership but for me, Sam's Club just wasn't super great. After doing some math, the savings weren't anything spectacular - you can just buy large quantities at once. I was let go during a mental breakdown caused by a mental disability after a member got physical. I've tried contacting a hr representative after being let go to no avail. I was contacted by a current employee saying they could use the help and the manager wanted me to apply with a new email, however my application was rejected... i was discriminated against plain and simple. I've honestly never been more appalled with a business in my life. I've never been more offended by a managers behavior. Kris was not willing to listen nor accommodate for my disability. it is unacceptable with how I was treated. I do not recommend going to this Sam's club if you are disable due to them obviously not caring enough to help an employee with autism. read more

Went to buy gifts cards through the self checkout. They had tons of sheets on display that you grab to make the purchase. The sheet says to take it to the front, purchase and receive your gift card. I did that and was told they were out and I should have asked first. Not what the sheet said. I asked why they still had sheets out and she didn't know or seem concerned, but said that I'd have to go to customer service to get a refund. Not my fault and I have to go wait in line. Clearly they forgot who the customer was. Or didn't care. read more

For me this is all about being able to use the app to scan your items and check out whenever you feel like it without having to get in line. I love that! Especially on a day when just looking at the checkout lines makes me nauseous. Organic options are marked with green price signs. Makes it easy to spot what I'm looking for. Huge wholesale fan of Costco and Sams. The reviews are mainly based on locations and the experiences at each particular location. First off, my favorite Sams is off 135th Antioch in Overland Park, Kansas. I just happen to be closer to the Topeka, Ks Sams Club more often. The location is usually a nightmare to access during the busy hours on any given day. Traffic is horrendous and that's putting it kindly! The set-up is kind of cool with Sam's and a gigantic Walmart SuperCenter sharing an entire plat of land along Wanamaker Road. Easily park in between the buildings of the two giants and shop at both locations without moving your vehicle. In fact, sort of reminds me of the old Hyper-Mart area off bannister road in south Kansas City Missouri back in the day. The Topeka Sams Club has a different interior set-up compared to most locations. Not as big/sprawling as many others. Selection is somewhat limited or what they do have is on a smaller scale. The freezer section is definitely smaller as is the health and beauty section. Hard to explain, but this Sam's just doesn't have that huge warehouse layout with a dizzying array of products around every corner and isle of the club. Overall, would rather have a smaller Sams Club vs no Sams Club at all in this region of Kansas. If Costco ever expanded into Topeka Kansas, the Wanamaker Sam's Club would have to change up and expand, or it could be in big trouble for long haul. read more

Yes, I know Sam's Club is run by Wal-Mart and its fashionable to hate Wal-Mart, but I like this place. The prices are much better than other places. There's plenty of walk-space in the aisles. Can't really get out quickly though because there's always lines at the registers to check out. If you didn't know, you can only buy in bulk items. You also need to buy a membership before shopping, except on days where you don't. Free passes are regularly available, but you pay a surcharge on what you buy. If you are planning a major purchase (tires), then membership is definitely worth it. read more

Do Not Buy Tires From Sams Club Topeka KS They told me when I went in to call and set up appointment for the next day. I call 5 times. First time put on hold and forgotten, hung up after 20 minutes. Called back. Put on hold for 15 minutes. Called back went to customer service (should be called disservice) desk and was told only one guy in auto/tire and to call back later. Call backAgain! Went to desk again who said they would transfer and instead hung up. Call back and customer disservice person is in auto/tire answering phone and said she couldn't get me in till 4 days later. After I was there the day before and told to call today for tomorrow appointment. Why wasn't this handled when I was the customer in the store? I believe this is their way of getting out of the service warranty for your tires. read more

The cafe is great food at really excellent pricing. I have done plumbing work in kitchen of cafe, bakery, and the meat department, and without hesitation can say they are kept spotless. The cleanest of any restaurant in Topeka area by far. Good job Sam's Club! read more

I love my local Sam's club, and the friendly staff at their pharmacy. I've had a card for years and go at least once a month. I'm going on my second year of membership at Sam's Club. I'm having a hard time justifying a renewal. There are only a handful of bulk items that I buy here. Every time I go to check out there is usually more than a 20 minute wait at the checkout. There is never have enough checkout lanes open. One would think that charging membership just to shop at the store would gain another level of customer service, but the opposite appears to be true here. I had to make a return once and it took 3 customer service representatives to understand what basically amounted to an even swap in merchandise, one size for another. They do not take Visa, which is ridiculous. Can anyone think of another business that takes credit cards, but doesn't take Visa? The last time I renewed, there was a promotion for a $20 gift card. If there is no such promotion at the next renewal, at this time; I cannot think of three good reasons to continue membership. I gave two stars for the large shopping carts, wide aisles, and occasional savings. read more
