Dillon's/Kroger are consistently stocked. In Texas they are a little slight on their expiration lapses. Especially in Bartonville Tx. Kroger. But Topeka stores are excellent. The staff are surprisingly informed in this day of hit and miss service. read more

In town visiting the area.... used to shop with this chain previously... I found this Dillons to have grocery pick up and with some items I wanted that I can't get in Oklahoma.... I place order and paid through the app. I experienced super friendly employees. pull up and they loaded it nice and neat- thanks for being awesome.... ... If only it was like the Walmart grocery pick up...pull in the spot and the app knows when you get in parking lot. Also the check in on your way is super nice with Walmart. (coronavirus pandemic shopping has me doing a lot of this shopping) Ordered a number of items...$70 worth of items... only $30 in stock. But somehow you can order it and pay for it...not charged later... substitution were not close... I wanted certain items and out them in my cart but they don't have it!?!?. Went to this store, after shopping here over a decade, being away for two years and then back. I was shocked at the prices. I was always anti-Walmart but boy I guess I have to let that go. $12 for a pound of butter! Out of stock of the two things I made the stop for. The dairy section is also a disaster, nothing in the right place, product on the floor inside the cooler. My first job was at a grocery store and my manager would have flipped. This is the result of unregulated capitalism. Hopefully the silent hand corrects this. read more

I've shopped at Dillion's since my college days (many moons ago) and have enjoyed the cleanliness and organization of the store. The quality of food was always good as well. I stopped into the store in Topeka, Kansas on 29th St. recently and it was run down (old), dirty looking and not very organized inside. I was in shock. It was not what I was used to coming from Dillions. It was an unpleasant shopping experience by far. I purchased what I wanted and got the heck out. The nicest thing (persons) were the cashier and young man in customer service. Boy, glad they at least have that going for them. I left disappointed and sorta sad...wondering what happened to this particular location? Have others fell by the wayside as well? I sure hope not. I must say that I am glad that there is still a grocery store in that area of town for the community to shop, but a much needed make-over is in order, or should be! There are cute boutiques, restaurants and shops in the same area and then this ratty grocery store right by them. Powers-that-be, Whoever you are, please help! read more

Let me begin by saying I hate the grocery store in general. It's just a depressing thing....but something happened at this Dillons store that has made me change my tune! So, yes it's "just" a groccery store, but what a groccery store it is! This Dillons is the 3rd groccery incarnation to stand at this address, and I think it's an incarnation built to last. What more could you want from a grocery store. It's like a library of food ! I saw things while I shopped here that I have never seen before! I felt good just walking around! When you enter the store you are immediately greeted with the smell of hot soups, which they have in abundance at their soup and salad area. As I recall I had a choice of around 6 soups! Everywhere you look their were employees to help you and they offered with out asking! It really seemed like they wanted to tell you about the areas they were in charge of. This store is a gourmet's delight! They have a mediteranean counter with all sorts of tapas delights, wonderful crackers, and munchies....so many cheeses (and someone right there to suggest or give you a sample) The bakery section was awesome! (look at the pictures I posted to see the St Patty's cakes they had to offer) I was impressed by the seafood section particularly. For once I found a seafood counter that did not smell like "fish". It smells fresh and clean and for that reason alone I will buy my seafood here. The selection is very good and the butcher is on his game! I know it seems kind of pathetic but shopping here made for a nice 'day out" with my boyfriend. I really felt like I had an experience. I saw so many things I had never seen before and everyone was so knowledgable and kind. I want to remark that when I was waiting in queue..the man behind me dropped a jar and had started to clean up the mess when a bag boy noticed and practically jumped across the isle saying "Sir Sir, please leave that to us, I will clean that up for you!" and then the checkout person offered him paper towls and hand sanitizer! Utterly ridiculous at the store doesn't have any more staff in the delicatessen. I waited 15 minutes for two pieces of fried chicken, picking up for my 90-year-old mother who can't get out. There was one girl working in the back section on something more important than waiting on customers apparently. Plus two people in the Chinese department who obviously did not do anything It didn't have to do with Chinese food. read more

Overall, I really like this store. I shop there often. I enjoy the fresh sushi that is made at the store. I also like that they have a Starbucks in the store. One of the things that I think needs improvement is the chinese deli food. I have tried it on two occasions and have been disappointed both times. On both occasions, the foods temperature and consistancy was of food that had been sitting in the warmers for quite some time. read more

I am greatly disappointed in this location. Given it's recent opening, I would anticipate the store to be cleaner and better staffed. I've never seen more than 2 check out lines open at one time. The in-store dining area is always filthy and there seems to be an abundance of staff members sitting around or goofing off around the store. Despite being further away, I go to HyVee for all my grocery shopping. read more

Nice selection of organic and natural foods and reasonably priced when compared to the other natural food store in the area.
