As for the produce, I thought it was a little pricey but good selection of organically grown items. In found a lot of great healthy snack options in the middle aisles such as kale chips, sea weed sheets and nuts. Their natural personal care products selection had a good variety to choose from as did the supplements section. This store reminded me of Sprouts Farmers Market only with a much smaller produce department. Customer service was awesome. They do have some boxes but best to bring your own bags.

During almost every visit I find something that I'm surprised they have. There are several items i now purchase here regularly. Some of my favorites are makeup sponges, dental floss picks, hairspray, vinegar, toilet bowl cleaner, disposable plastic food containers, plastic forks/spoons etc. I go here a lot for work to grab inexpensive breakroom supplies, fun decorations for our breakroom, super glue, office supplies like push pins and rulers, magic erasers etc. It's not about being cheap to shop here. It will save you money on things you buy anyways.

Then hear videos being played in the stall. I asked the employee, "are you just sitting there watching videos?" He smugly replied, "yeah, I am" and turns up the volume. I go to a manager to complain, and I can't get him to even acknowledge my presence. I tried to tell him about the employee sitting in the bathroom just watching videos. He ignores me. No comment. Nothing. Straight out ignores me as if I was not there. When I go up the counter to make my purchases, he's behind the counter and won't make eye contact. On any other day, I would have nothing but praise for this store. I don't know the manager who ignored me, nor do I know the employee that was having his movie break. I don't know who, if anyone, was in charge. As a customer, I feel very disrespected by this treatment. I'm, however, so pleased that employees watching videos in the bathroom have a higher priority than customers. In any case, when a customer comes up to an employee, (let alone a manager) and has a complaint, be professional at least and have the common decency to not ignore the customer. I had come to expect more from Kwik Star.

The employees have always been nice at a minimum. Today I was greeted by an unprofessional employee. She was angry because I lose my words sometimes since my stroke. On her third try asking for a receipt I asked her what part of no doesn't she understand? On her second attempt she abandoned me and went to the office pouting. Then came back for her 3rd try. She proceeded to make rude facial expressions from the time I walked. I asked for help moving the return from my truck inside. I said it was heavy but couldn't get the name to come out due to Aphasia. I told her the exchange product was labeled with my name. She continued to give me dirty looks. So I asked her if she was hungover or something because she was being a "bitch". She responded I don't drink. Then she made a performance of telling the normal young lady via radio that she didn't want to help me. So I loudly said to the other employee who was nearing the back of the store that I didn't want her help. The other 2 employees said you can't call someone that. I said "not only can I call her a bitch, I'll continue to call her one as long as she acts like one. I n the previous 6 weeks I've been in this store at least 3 times a week and never had an issue. A lady who identified herself as the manager said in an offensive tone that she would be calling the main manager today. I responded with go ahead he knows me and if he likes I'll give him a transcript of our conversation from my hearing aids. In loud places I turn on TTY so I can understand what is being said. And showed her. She just feigned disinterest. Epic Fail #harborfreight

Today I went to FedEx Ship Center, and had terrible customer service. We accidentally walked in…read morewhen it was at max capacity. After waiting 9 minutes she came out and told us to leave (very rudely) after giving me unusual looks. So we politely left, once we walked out another customer was able to walk in and was not told to leave. I do not understand how Fedex will allow its workers to pick and choose who was allowed in the store. I will never bring my business to FedEx again!

I was running low on gas and happened to be by the new hy vee gas station on University. I filled…read moreup and paid at the pump before I went inside. When I went inside I was greeted by the clerk at the register. The place smelled of delicious coffee. They also have a Caribou coffee attached to the station that is accessible from outside or through the station. I went and used the restroom before I walked around the store. They were very clean and very nicely tiled. I also really like that they offered both paper towels and the blow dryer for drying your hands. For a gas station bathroom it definitely deserves five stars. I wasn't going to get anything but the aroma of coffee made me want to cappuccino. They had 18 flavors of cappuccino. I had a very hard time deciding which one to go with. They all look so delicious. They also have several slushy machines several flavors of fountain pop and coffee. They carried the normal gas station fare such as beer sodas and candy. They had fresh items probably brought over from the hy vee grocery store such as sandwiches wraps and salads. They also had stuff like pizza by the slice and roller dogs. The whole gas station was very spacious and clean. Other hy vee gas stations I've been to in the past are small and cramped. This one definitely competes with the quality of a kwik star gas station. I just may have to go out of my way more often to get gas and cappuccinos.

I had a slice of their cinnamon coffee cake (warmed up, of course), and it was SO GOOD! (Worth every penny!) Between the friendly staff, the comfortable and hip atmosphere, and the delicious menu, it's a must have pick-me-up! The only criticism I have is that the staff needs more training. The manager is excellent at making drinks...the others, not so much. (But I'm sure the expertise will get better in time.)
