Called this morning to set an appointment for this evening as I locked myself out of the house…read morethrough the garage service door. I will spare the details of my unlucky morning. The woman over the phone said it would be $35 for the outcall, and MAYBE $15 or so more for the unlock service. I set the appointment for when I expected to get home and didn't think about it for the rest of the day. Right on time, 8:30 rolls around and the locksmith is waiting for me to arrive. He and two of his friends that sat in the car playing loud music. Yes, he brought his friends with to the joyous experience of opening my door. If that wasn't bad enough, as soon as he starts in with his "estimate" to open a door that is simply locked with nothing more than a doorknob, it turns out that it's $35 for the outcall, and $165 for the lock-out service, with a chuckle he added that if there had been a deadbolt it would have been more. The only saving grace to this experience is the fact that the door was open within ten minutes. That was until I noticed the tool marks and wood missing from the door jam. A part of me is wondering whether or not my credit card information hasn't been stolen... I will never use this service again, and I would NOT recommend them to anyone else.
