Went here for the first time last night. When we walked in, the staff was very quick to explain how everything worked and when asked their opinion on what was recommended there, they told us what they thought was best. They recommended the pizza/salad bar.The pizza was fresh and so was everything on the salad bar. We saw the staff coming out with fresh food multiple times while there. The restaurant itself was clean and had a laid back and family friendly atmosphere. It was $26 for two people, and for all you can eat pizza, drinks, and salad bar, it doesn't cost any more than ordering pizza from somewhere else (and "somewhere else" probably wouldn't be as good.) We would definitely, and confidently, recommend Sam's to everyone! read more

Used to be the best pizza in town. What happened. Floors were dirty. Food all over the floor . Ate there last night. My husband has an iron stomach. He was not feeling well all night. Salad bar lettuce was brown and what wasn't brown was the part of the lettuce no one eats (core). Pizza that was in the buffet was old. cheese was hard. I realize prices have gone up. but for the price. Not worth $26 for half a salad and 2 pieces of eatable pizza. read more

Ok so for Buckhannon it's one of the better options. What I do suggest is asking how long food will take every time you order as 1. They often tell you the wrong times without you asking, but it seems when I ask they get it closer... idk why. They will tell me 10 minutes and it'll be 45 I ask them the time first and they tell me 30, and they do 30. So I always ask before I start the order now. You have to try the cheese sticks here. No amount of complaints has this improved this Buckhannon Pizza place. I have tried to reach the owner about my concerns for years, to no avail; now he's one of the new County Commissioners for this town. They offer pizzas, a salad bar, and delivery. It appears their main concern has been their DELIVERY SERVICES and CARRY OUT; and little concern for the rest. The salad bar always has the very same selections, way to few, and very boring. The lettuce has often been either stale, pale, or with those awful white chunks of stalks; no care or concern for the quality of the salad bar. They keep pizzas out for you under heat lamps, but they often go the entire time you are waiting and eating your meal, without bringing out new and hot pizzas. You are left with empty pizza pans or a kind you don't like; they never seem to put out enough cheese pizzas. When I have confronted them about putting out cheese pizzas, which is about the only type I can stand, they reply, "Just let us know and we will make some for you," and then make you wait another ten to fifteen minutes. It's like they don't care at all about the in-house dining; only their carry out and deliveries. Then they had the nerve to raise the price on their "all you can eat" pizza and salad bar. Sam's Pizza is a staple of the Buckhannon landscape. They have sponsored youth sports teams since it's inception, and is well respected for it's service to the community. I'll admit, I'm not too fond of the buffet, solely because of it's brevity, and simplicity, but it is not atrocious, just simple. Can't recall soda prices because I rarely ever get one. When dining in for the buffet, you will often easily monitor their operational costs by how many pizzas they are putting out. Ex: family of three comes in - two more pizzas on the buffet. They are not skimpy on variety when very few people are in there, but it may appear so - Just ask them to make something you want and they will!!!! They'll dole out hot, tasty marinara too! :D Talking about the pudding.... I think they do it just as a running joke, right? Like "Well, we've been doing it this long, why not just continue?" But then again, I've never touched it... so who knows. Their basic cheese or pepperoni pizza compares between Little Caesar's and Domino's/Papa John's in terms of flavor, size, and value. Actually, their prices are pretty good. Sam's goes to town when it comes to Specialty Pizzas or Calzones. They do not skimp with meats or toppings. If you're having a get together and want some slices to throw down, this place is as good as the others (and typically more accurate than Domino's in terms of pizza making.) read more

It's not my favorite pizza, but it's decent for the price of the buffet. My personal faves are the cheesesticks and the turkey sub. Yum!
