Every Saturday night the Liberty hosts Cajun and Zydeco music, in a Grand Old Opry type format. The show is in both Cajun french and English, and as a non-French speaker I can tell you that there is enough English in the show so that you can clearly understand what is going on. When I was there, everything was spoken in one language then repeated in the other. The box office opens at 4pm Saturday night, and the show (which is broadcast locally) starts at 6pm and ends at 7:30pm. Seating is first come first served, but it's a large theater so finding a seat shouldn't be a problem. However, the best seats go quickly, so don't be shy about entering the theater early before the show to claim your spot. We arrived about 45 minutes before the show and was able to watch the band rehearse a bit. You're sure to make new friends, since everyone is exceptionally friendly and glad that you are here. The time goes by quickly, and the musicians are fantastic. The lineup changes every week, so check the web site to see who will be playing when you visit. The cost is only $5 per person, with reasonably priced drinks and popcorn available. Don't miss this show if you're into Cajun/Zydeco music...or live music of any sort.
