They don't make professionals like this anymore. I was able to walk in yesterday, get measured in 3 minutes, and picked the suit up today. Easy peasy. A quick yelp search for tailoring will show this and a few scattered dry cleaners, which will require you to launder clothing prior to alterations. At Sam's, it was $12 for pants hemming and $10 for shirt sleeves. To narrow pant leg opening, like $18. It's at the Ren Center, second floor. Immediately to the right if you take the river side escalators past Panera Bread. Tailor is a friendly and skilled guy named Ali (not Sam). This is place is amazing! Nothing off the rack tends to fit me right, and since I don't have ready access to my tailor in NYC in Detroit, I started to take my clothes here. I've brought in pants that need to be hemmed and the waist taken in, blouses that need to have the shoulders adjusted, and even asked them to raise the slit in a leather skirt so I could actually walk in it. This tailor does a meticulous job. Everything I've brought in now fits me perfectly, and... I'd even say he rivals some of the top tailors in Manhattan. Great little shop that tailors to your needs! I stopped in this morning and dropped off a suit which he had me try on and he recorded my measurements. The pants and sleeves needed to be shortened. I wish I could rate this place with 6 stars! The service at Sam's was exceptional. I arrived into town on Friday morning for a wedding that took place Saturday afternoon. The dress that I had ordered was delivered at the very last minute and was about a size too big. I could have made the fit work for the wedding, but after reading the great reviews about Sam's on Yelp I figured I would at least stop in to see if he could do anything to help. Sam eased all my worries when he said it could be done no problem, and that he'd have the dress ready for me the following morning. Four hours after leaving the dress with Sam, I got a call saying it was ready. Four hours! The dress fit perfectly, too. To tailor a lace dress with a fitted inset is a challenge in and of itself, but to do it (and do it well) in that amount of time is just incredible. The price was very reasonable, too.
