We toured the school and talked with the principle that our youngest has been having some tantrums, but we are actively working on them. We were reassured that this was not an issue, and in fact, her own child had the same issue. Stated that it a great environment. We took the jump and paid for the entire year (11k!). The first day was very rough. My youngest was having tantrums and not doing well. She was sent home early which I agree with. We were then "un-invited" to return to pre and post care due to the tantrums. Fine. My husband and I worked with our schedules to ensure that we would A. be at the school in a moments notice if anything needed to be corrected and B. was willing to work with school to ensure no issues arise. We have MD appts lined up to assist as well. Within 2 hours of school on Tuesday, she was sent home due to 2 tantrums. Again, I understand it is disruptive, however we were doing our best to help. THEY COULD NOT GET US OUT OF THE SCHOOL FAST ENOUGH. We were told again, to come in on Wednesday and we would try again. I took off the entire day to be ready to sit at the school and assist with behaviors and find out what was causing this. Tuesday afternoon, less than 4 hours after being sent home, being told that we could come back on Wednesday, we were no longer welcomed back at the school. 7 hours was all it took for them to reject us. Of the 11k that we spent, they returned all but $1400. That's $200 an hour for this child. We attempted to talk with them and ask for them to return all but $600 (a month tuition and pre/post care for that Monday). They declined and charged the entire month of pre, post, 1 month tuition, and 3%. $1400 for 7 hours of care. They acted like they were doing us a favor for not charging us 3 months tuition despite them not wanting us back. Ridiculous. And for those wondering, the youngest started at Everbrook Academy. They worked with her for 2 days (Wednesday and Thursday) and by Friday she had ZERO tantrums. You are telling me that St. Micheal's is not able to work with us and a 3 year old on self calming? But Everbrook was able to come in with loving arms to assist. Just ridiculous. TL;DR: Don't send your small kiddos here.

I called and spoke with Paul, the owner, and he took time to explain the process from the required 45-hours of drive-time with me and my husband through to getting her provisional license. We provided Paul with days and times she was available including weekends and our address. The first session was conducted on a Sunday afternoon (thank heavens!) and Paul came, introduced himself and talked with us for about 20-minutes while we took care of paperwork and payment. He then had our daughter get into the driver's seat and they proceeded with the session, which also included picking up other teen drivers. There was no set days and times for the lessons, it was more what worked for our family and Paul's wife, Kinder, who conducted all subsequent sessions. We were so happy with the fluid schedule! Our daughter raved about her experience. After her last session, we talked with Paul's wife as she completed the paperwork to be filed with the DMV and the courthouse, so that we could skip the step of appearing before a judge in order for our daughter to get her license. This was a huge plus! She also issued the provisional license and said that the DMV would mail the actual license in about 90-days. Access Driving Academy made everything easy and seamless. Just remember to be patient with the improvised schedule knowing that Paul and his wife will take care of the details. We highly recommend them!

The children's food is well made with good ingredients. I have zero complaints about the school for the 3.5 years my child attended. We were looking for a school in the area that was not only rich in their curriculum, but a school that was diverse in its culture and one that embraced children of all ethnicities. I noticed that during Black Histoy Month (2/2023), there were no initiatives highlighted in the February Monthly newsletter to recognize the contributions of the many African-Americans that have contributed to American History. I decided to email the staff with ideas in which Black History Month could be incorporated into the curriculum, considering that there were a number of African-American students enrolled at HCA. I received a phone call immediately from one of the Administrators (Mrs. Juliana) stating that this was an oversight and that they would be sure to highlight Black History Month. I had a follow-up conversation with the Curriculum Specialist (Mrs. Giovanna)...and to my surprise, she had incorporated many of the items that I highlighted in my email! Not to mention, how swiftly she acted upon this. I would like to extend my SINCEREST gratitude for all that HCA has done for Black History Month and everything that they are instilling in my children daily. I was thoroughly impressed with the various learning activities the students participated in throughout the month. They exceeded my expectations on highlighting African-American culture and the many great achievements of some of the well-known Black pioneers that have contributed to AMERICAN HISTORY. Efforts such as these make my husband and I confident that we have selected the right school for our children. We look forward to our children thriving in a school environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, as well as high educational standards. Job well done HCA!!

While my husband was filling out docs, I walked my daughter through the school hallway to keep her busy and when I looked into the 16M+ classroom (the classroom she would be joining), I witnessed the teacher yank a little boy by his arm. She pulled him from above the elbow and his legs were not touching the ground. Not only that we heard her yell at a child in the classroom to "SIT DOWN" very aggressively before this. It was loud enough that we heard it from the sitting room in the front. The directors assistant went into the classroom to check what was going on. Needless to say, we did not enroll our daughter into this school and left shortly after. I let the director know what I had seen and we left. I later got a phone call from the director explaining what I had seen was redirection from the teacher and that she had been at "this school for 4 years" and said words like "appeared" and "perceived". There is no excuse for a teacher to yell at babies in this way. There is no excuse for someone to pull a child in the way that she did. She could have caused an injury and dislocated his shoulder. I did not get another phone call and I don't know if this incident was reported but | feel like it is my responsibility to let anyone looking into this school know what I saw. I still think about that poor child and what his parents might not know. Please do not enroll your children into this school especially if your babies cannot speak to you and let you know what kind of treatment they are getting. What I saw has affected me and we are lucky enough to be able to keep our girl at home with us and delay day care.
