I brought in a pair of Thursday Captains and needed new soles and heels. First off the cobbler didn't remove the old stitching and put the new stitching on top of the old one he didn't reuse the existing holes and skipped a whole bunch. the length of each stitch was about 3 quarters of an inch long for each stitch. He didn't counter sink the stitches on the bottom so I wore though them in a day on some areas. For some reason he nailed the heel through the top instead of the botto. In order to do that he tore the inside footbed away from the bottom of the boot and nailed the nails through and then just placed the piece he tore away back down. Within a week I started to feel the nails and the remaining parts of the footbed started to wear through where the nails were constantly rubbing. And then he painted the sides of the new sole and heel to match the color of my boots and that also started to peel and chip away within a few days. I would never have this cobbler do any work on any of my boots again. If you value your footwear and spend a lot of money on them you do not want to have him work on your boots. Side note before he did the repair he commented on how nice the boots were and that he would do really good work on them cuss he could tell they were quality boots so if thats his good work I'd hate to see his usual work. I have other boots and shoes like Iron Rangers, 1000 mile, Park Avenues and more expensive Thursday's but I wanted to see his work on my least expensive pair first before bringing him others and in that aspect I'm happy I did.

So today I walked into your store to be greeted by CHRISTIAN, who was sitting behind his computer,…read morefrom his seated position he asked me what he could do for me, at that moment, because of his lack of customer skills, I wanted to say" Nothing at all sonny, just continue to sit there." but the better person of me said, I'm looking for a pair of BLACK STEEL TOES SHOES, he then pointed me to a pair of 165.00 lace-up ankle boots, it was at that moment I said I need SHOES, not boots, he then got up and walked to the other side of the store and showed me some shoes that were 185.00 however they had grey highlights and trim, I told him I needed just plain black, he said, sorry that's all I have, I walked over to a section that was designated CLEARANCE, I said there are 2 pair styles of shoes that have steel toes right here, he acted surprised, then I picked up a shoe and asked him how much, here is where his SHIFTINESS CAME IN, he said first let me go check to see if they have your size, "Do you need to be fitted?" he asked, I said sure, I stood in this digital box that was supposed to measure my feet, its actually a gimmick to try and sell you some inserts for your feet. I asked him what the computer said, he said I needed a size 8 or 9. I have been in a 10.5 to an 11.5 depending on who makes them since I grew out of puberty. that guy didn't know how to measure feet, even had a metal foot scale next to his feet, he only knew how to read what a computer would say. Anyways he comes back with 2 boxes and says one style is 70.00 and another style is 100. I said I would take the 70 dollar pair, it was then he said, oh, that's the cheap one, I'm my mind, I wanted to get in his face and ask him what he meant, but I know how to conduct myself in public, when it was time to check out he needed to ask the lady who I assume was in charge, who sat in a chair in front of a computer and didn't move either, how he needed to code it, she told him the shoes were only 50.00, not 70.00. I can only imagine how much the 100.00 pair actually was. this is a shoe for work and work only, black on black, and didn't need any frills or fancy stuff. why you cannot put the sale price in front of the customer makes a customer think that your gonna makeup prices and overcharge them. This salesman, CHRISTIAN, and I'm using the term "MAN" very very loosely, is a disgrace to the brand of RED WING. I have been a fan of RED WING since I entered the workforce, I will never walk into THAT store ever again. very unprofessional as well as sneaky
