From the beautiful blue details throughout the venue to the stunning bridal suite, every detail was so thoughtfully designed. My bridesmaids and I especially loved how spacious, adorable, and comfortable the bridal suite was, and my husband and I really appreciated having a space to relax and spend time together during cocktail hour. The coordination team was absolutely amazing. Malea checked in with us frequently throughout the planning process and was so helpful in bringing our vision to life. Everyone we worked with was incredibly kind, friendly, and detail-oriented, which made such a huge difference. Our wedding day went so smoothly and perfectly, and I was honestly amazed by how stress-free the entire day was. As a bride, I was able to truly enjoy every moment of my wedding day without feeling stressed, and I know that was because of how organized and attentive the entire team was. The food was also amazing! Our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed dinner and how beautiful the venue was. We continue to hear so many wonderful compliments about the entire experience. Agape 1928 was truly the perfect place for our wedding. The beautiful venue, incredible food, wonderful people, and exceptional coordination made our day everything we dreamed of and more. We are so grateful we chose Agape 1928 and could not recommend them more!

The outdoor ceremony was a little warm, so I used the wedding program to fan myself and hubs... hush, please don't tell the bride! Thankfully, the overcast rolled in and cooled things down. The food was great, they served sashimi as an appetizer, and there was an open bar--which was a very nice touch! Yes, please!

The Spanish-style steps are really neat and the view that overlooks the beach is something else. Bear in mind there are noise ordinances in place that are pretty darn strict: the processional music is going to be quiet, and the wrap time is 10 PM (if not a little before) to ensure that the neighbors don't complain. The inside area where the dancing is can get pretty hot and steamy and the ordinance forbids having the doors open to air the place out. But the view/grandeur of the space to cost ratio is pretty unbeatable, just hope that there aren't any trains passing by during important parts of the ceremony! Would love to come back for another wedding!

They offer some awesome classes to the community, as well as a kids club in the summer, swim lessons and can be rented for various events, like weddings. This has always been the spot for high schoolers to take prom pictures too! The building itself is beautiful and the surrounding views are amazing. There's a ramp that leads down to north beach and the train station. Also, there is a walking trail right at the beach too. There's also some great restaurants nearby, like Moulin, Beach Hut Deli and a new Steak restaurant. Just note that all parking is metered and you will get a ticket if you don't pay. Ultimately, this is a gorgeous venue for a party, picnic and more!

He was extremely RUDE AND NASTY to my husband and I. We were in the neighborhood looking at possibility of using the place for an upcoming wedding. And he basically said we were trespassing and asked us to leave in a VERY rude manner. He also threatened to call the police for supposedly "trespassing" even though we're locals that live in the neighborhood and just wanted to get a brief peak at the facility that they were decorating for a wedding. Even one of the vendors said please come take a look. What a stupid and horrible, horrible way of providing customer service to Potential clients. This person should be fired and reprimanded for his behavior. Nothing I would expect from a San Clemente Community center.

The outdoor areas inside and outside the property are very well cared for. I would say borderline immaculate. Baseboards and doors etc could use a little touch up painting and some carpet stretching but overall very good shape. I'm being picky. Didn't really use their tables but they had new chairs which was nice. The bar was well serviced and everyone had plenty of drinks (open bar) and the wine that came with it was very drinkable. We tried all the wines in advance and better than expected. Josh Cab & Pinot and Coppola Sav Blanc and prosecco. All were good. Had a berry mojito as the signature cocktail and it was also excellent. The staff that came with the Casino were all great. We planned a year in advance. I would say getting ahold of anyone on the phone or getting called back was a miss. Use email and the responses were usually better but this part of the experience was below average. In the end it all worked out. The venue had a cool stage that allowed for a surprise live performance from the bride and groom which was unique to this venue. Zero regrets for the decision to use the Casino. Very unique and cool. Lots of places on property for great pics.

Regardless, the free entry automatically made the visit a great value. This is a small museum (and even smaller now due to unfortunate damage caused by landslides in recent years) with a gorgeous interior, a vibrant garden, and regal ocean views. The interior includes many collected works of fine art that betray quite good taste, something to be attributed to the provenance of the home. I liked that because it was during the winter holiday season, the house was decorated accordingly; I wonder what the house looks like during other times of year! I am not sure how involved the museum docents are meant to be, but they appeared happy to show us around and give further explanation on some details of the house. Important note: public restrooms are available, and also there are even functional in-situ bathrooms. Using one made me feel like I was a proper guest to the home. This will probably be a good time for the whole family, if art and culture is something yours values. I'm bringing my mother on my next visit, hopefully on another free day.

I forgot how close San Clemente is to where we live in South O.C. - we paid for pier parking ($1.50 per hour) and decided to spend the day strolling around town and decided to visit the Casa Romantica. We paid the $8 entry fee and walked around the outside and inside of the property; it was a Thursday and there weren't many people (maybe 3-4 others). Amazing views and gorgeous garden areas. The butterfly garden area was my favorite and a lovely gentleman at the front desk answered many questions for us and even gave us some Milkweed seeds to take home for our garden so we can help with the Monarch Butterfly population in SoCal. The outside deck area is still being shored up from the landslide but we were told it should be open to access soon. The architecture of the buildings and the wooden flooring are beautiful and there is a wood-burning fireplace with seating as well as tables and chairs on the artificial grass area. Make sure to keep your entry receipt as the fee is good for all-day access to the facility (closes at 4PM) M-F and 2:00 PM on weekends (due to weddings and events). After walking back to the beach to dip our toes in the water we got our car out of the parking area and drove the short distance back to the Casa Romantica and enjoyed another stroll looking at all the different flowers and for a photo-op overlooking the ocean. If you're looking for a place to just relax before hitting the 5 freeway after a trip to the beach, this is your place.

She went above and beyond in ways both big and small, and it made all the difference. Her space is absolutely beautiful. It has such an artsy, welcoming feel and was perfect for our 80 person reception. The lighting created a magical atmosphere, the sound system worked flawlessly, and the indoor outdoor flow gave guests room to mingle, relax, and celebrate comfortably. One of the most generous touches was allowing us to use her home for staging the bride and groom. That level of trust and hospitality meant so much to our family. Throughout the entire process, she was accommodating, helpful, and always available with a calm, reassuring presence. If you are looking for a venue with heart, creativity, and an owner who truly cares, this is it. We are so grateful for everything she did to make the celebration unforgettable.

We recently had the opportunity to DJ an event at The Fish Tank in Capistrano Beach (34233 Via…read moreSanta Rosa, Dana Point), and it immediately impressed us. Start with the owner. Cate is professional, responsive, and genuinely collaborative. Communication is clear. Load-in is organized. The space is clean and well maintained. When a venue runs this smoothly, it reduces friction for vendors and creates a better experience for clients and guests. That kind of operational competence doesn't happen by accident. The design is what makes this venue distinct. The short-throw projectors transform the walls into a fully immersive aquarium or fishbowl environment. It's not a novelty effect; it's a production tool. For weddings, the room can feel atmospheric and romantic. For corporate events, branded visuals wrap the space in a way that feels custom and high-end. Few venues at this size offer that level of visual flexibility. From an audio standpoint, the room performs extremely well. We run MagiCali, a Southern California mobile DJ company specializing in weddings and corporate events, and we evaluate every room through a production lens. We look at ceiling height, wall material, reflection patterns, power distribution, and how low-end energy travels across a dancefloor. We've worked in luxury ballrooms, outdoor coastal venues, private estates, and converted industrial spaces. The Fish Tank is one of the rare venues where you don't have to compensate for the room. Speeches are articulate and easy to understand. Dinner music sits comfortably without overwhelming conversation. When it's time to transition into dancing, the room holds energy evenly instead of creating hot spots or dead zones. That tells you the space was built and tuned with care. For clients, that technical quality translates into confidence. You don't have to worry about muddy sound during toasts or harsh reflections once the music turns up. The venue supports the event instead of fighting it. There are many event spaces in Orange County. Very few combine strong visual identity, flexible projection capability, solid acoustics, and hands-on ownership. The Fish Tank is an undiscovered gem, and for what Cate currently charges, it represents exceptional value. It would not be surprising to see this venue commanding significantly higher rates in the near future. If you're planning a wedding, private celebration, or corporate event in Dana Point or Capistrano Beach, this space deserves serious consideration. It's distinctive, technically sound, and professionally run -- exactly the kind of venue that allows a well-executed event to shine.

The venue is beautiful, so you don't need to do much at all in terms of decor. The catering/food was delicious. They have great attention to detail. The staff / team they have are really great and friendly. Parking is limited, so valet is required for larger events. I (the bride) was working in the area when I stopped by Aventura Ocean Club by myself at first to check the venue out. I loved it so much I had to bring my now husband back as soon as we got back from a mini vacation and on that day, we secured the location. Just imagine an amazing view of the harbor and sailboats while feeling relaxed in a room that is modern, intimate and designed well. This venue is NOT old school like some weddings that we have all been to, its updated and amazing. Besides the view, another huge selling point is the largest wrap around balcony I have seen at a wedding. Aventura Ocean Club sets up couches, chairs, and a firepit outside for the guests to enjoy while they are not inside. We had our wedding on 8/10/2019 and we have nothing but great things to say about the venue. We got married at Heritage Park in Dana Point (Simone coordinated all of this) and had our reception at Aventura Ocean Club. I am still getting compliments to this day about the venue, the view, the decorations, the food, the grand entrance that we did (think sail boat entrance) and even the florals, DJ and photographer we used (all who came recommended from Simone). We could not have asked for a better wedding and we are truly pleased. It is obvious Simone cares about her clients and truly believes in marriage and happiness, she was wonderful to work with. A few helpful hints about this venue: 1. It is intimate but fit 100 people on the inside with no issue. 2. Your guests will rave about the sail boat grand entrance if you choose this option. 3. If you use their wedding package/coordinating services (which you should in a heartbeat) your event will look even better than you imagined but with your style through and through. 4. Simone/Aventura Ocean Club/Orange County Beach Weddings and all her recommended vendors will give you the wedding of your dreams. 5. This was in our price range where a lot of other beach/beachy/coastal venues were significantly more money and you had to do everything yourselves.
