I bought a set of furniture at this store, including a bed, a nightstand, a chest, and a media stand. Overall, I'm ok with the quality of the furniture, but I was unhappy about the way I was treated by Mr. Seymor Weksler, who I believe is the owner, so I'd like to share my experience. First, I want to say the price is reasonable and the quality is consistent with the price tag. Although Seymor assured me that the furniture is made of solid wood when we were making the purchase decision, some parts of it are not, such as the drawers (see picture). But I can understand given the price. I also want to say the staff who helped me throughout are in general friendly and professional. But I ran into two big issues. The first one is that the chest is simply broken when we receive it. The problem is very obvious, so the seller replaced it for me and returned the broken piece to their supplier, American Furniture. It was not a pleasant experience and I was treated well. The second issue is what angers me. We ordered a King-size bed, but Seymore mistakenly thought it was California King. In the store, Seymore and I did talk about California King as a possible choice and he suggested that since I'm not very tall, a normal King-size bed would be better, so I ended up choosing King instead of Cal-King. My family and I vividly remembered this conversation. On the order sheet, Seymore wrote down "CK" and at the time I didn't pay much attention to it because I thought it was some internal code. Then we went to a mattress store and picked up a King-size mattress. It is highly unlikely for the four of us to make such a mistake. We didn't realize this issue until we assembled the bed and found that the mattress didn't fit. I immediately called Seymore and when he first received my call, he thought I was calling to thank him for replacing the chest (and I did). When I started to talk about the real problem, he suddenly changed his tone and refused to admit any possibility that he had made a mistake. And after one minute, he simply hung up on me. I was being very calm and reasonable throughout the process. Till today, after almost a month, he never called me back and asked me whether my problem has been solved. Because I don't have proof that it is the store's mistake - it is his words against ours -- we were left with few options. In the end, I talked to the mattress store and asked them whether they could help me replace the King-size mattress we originally ordered with a Cal-King that fit into the bed frame. Fortunately, they were willing to do so and the problem was solved - we can live with a Cal-King although we wanted to buy a King-size bed. The reason I wrote the review is that I was surprised by the sudden change of tones and by the fact that he simply refused to talk to me to find a solution. I teach at a university, and I can understand the business logic: if the chest is broken, it's on the supplier and the store bears no cost when replacing it; however, if they admit that they have made a mistake in ordering, they will incur some cost. I get that, but I don't think it is the right way to treat their customers when there's a problem. A tip for future customers: make sure that you get everything right on paper because it is likely that they will not help you out if your matter will incur some cost on their part. The staff was friendly, but behind the friendly exterior, they tried to rip me off. They quoted me $200 for a coffee table out of a catalogue, $200 for a vanity set out of a different catalogue, and $200 for a bed frame that they had in stock. I took down the prices and went to another store down the street, because even my intuition was telling me this price was ridiculous. At the next store, the EXACT SAME PIECES from the same catalogues were quoted at $120, $150, and $150 respectively. Had I fallen for their "friendliness," I would have been ripped off at least $180 total. The male staff did mention that if I find a better price elsewhere, contact them and they can "beat it". Well, I don't think marking up prices was a good practice to begin with. Beware when shopping at stores like this. Do your research, know the prices before going in. As anyone who has ever moved knows, relocating and purchasing new furniture at the same time can be exhausting. After spending numerous days searching for a mattress in over 100 degree weather, i had had about enough. On my way home from yet another useless search for a decently priced but high quality mattress, i noticed a tucked away mattress store, off El Cajon blvd. Upon arrival, i was greeted by a delightful woman named Sonia. She was very charismatic and made it abundantly clear that customer service was a high priority. She showed me a bunch of great pieces and even broke out some catalogs to help with the specific requests i had. It was a very comfortable and informational experience after that, which isn't something you always get from a privately owned, sales driven business, who more often than not are just out to rip you off. The friendly exterior of the employees there was only comparable to the quality and fair pricing of the mattress i purchased. For the first time in a long time, sleeping has actually become an enjoyable and somber experience. As for the quality of service, Sonia truly has the passion and the tenacity it takes for a private business owner to compete in today's Corporate America. Just moved to San Diego from San Francisco yesterday, and I am so pleased with the experience I had buying my bed! Sonia assisted me as soon as I walked into the store. I found a good deal for a queen bed for $500, and she made sure it would be delivered that day so I'd have something to sleep on! She even gave my boyfriend and me two water bottles after the long drive to SD. She communicated well about the options I had for buying a bed; she asked whether we wanted the mattress with or without the box spring, and if we were interested in the frame. My husband and I were long over due for a new mattress. A friend recommended that we check out Sleep Bedder and we popped over to the North Park location. We were greeted by Sonia and I knew right away we were at the right store. Her positive energy, bright eyes, and kindness are felt immediately. We spent almost 1hr 30mins trying out mattresses. While we were there they made us some organic tea and educated us about the differences of the mattresses! Sonia was extremely knowledgable and knew when to give us our space. I give this place 2 stars only because the quality of furniture is pretty decent for someone on a budget. However, their business practices are a bit on the shady side. We had purchased a queen sized bed for $600. When they delivered the bed to our place, they didn't include the foundation, which holds the box and the mattress up. I went back to the store, and the rep that helped us (SONIA) tried to sell me the foundation for $60! Here I am about six months later FINALLY getting to my laptop and doing my good deed. I found Sleep Bedder online a while back when I was looking for a new queen size bed for my 9 year old son. We wanted to upgrade him from his twin to a "real" bed- One that he would have for a very long time- yet as most of us are- I was looking for a good "deal" too. Sonia was awesome on the phone answering my questions, so much so that I wanted to come into the store on my lunch hour to check out what they had. She was busy but sweet, attentive, knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Most of all she was professional and not "salesie"... she was very genuine. Being in sales myself that is big for me. She also gave me a great price on what seemed to be a good quality bed and box spring set. I paid in full and the bed was delivered that week on time. The delivery guy even helped carry everything to my son's bedroom upstairs. (He could have taken his shoes off first- but being new to California I have learned that that is not customary here- so I don't blame HIM but his upbringing :-) It's a rental home anyway! None the less, I was THRILLED with the bed when my husband and I put it together. The assembly was quick and easy- WAY easier than any piece of Ikea furniture and the quality was WAY better than I expected (for the price). Beautiful- Solid- Study- GORGEOUS. And I paid LESS than I would have for Ikea crap. My son LOVES it! I LOVE it! Everyone who sees it or sleeps on it LOVES it. I was very pleased with Seymour at A Bedder Buy. We were looking for a Murphy Cabinet as there is really only one other major source for Murphy Beds on Miramar Road and I was not happy with their sales style. Seymour seemed genuine- gave a competitive price and had a friendly wonderful delivery guy as well. I'm very happy I was able to give him business. The only downfall, but not worth a star reduction is that there isn't much of a showroom. You need to already know what you want when you go in. I live just down the street from this place and NEVER would have considered stepping foot inside. It just looks way too salesy, and I pictured them having dingy furniture inside. If it wasn't for Yelp, I would've gone elsewhere. But because of its consistent 5 star reviews, and the fact that I had no excuse not to go because it was in walking distance, I had to check it out. So thankful I did! Karen was the first salesperson to help us and she was so friendly and helpful. She helped narrow things down for us really quickly, but didn't pressure us into buying. We left to check out another place before committing and the 2nd place we went to paled in comparison in terms of service and offering. So I headed back to Bedder Buy - they have a broader range of options from low to high, regular mattresses to memory foam. Karen has left for the day, so I was helped by Chris. I got the most stupendous deal, I absolutely knew that it was such a steal there was no way I would get a better offer elsewhere. So I was sold, and asked when I could get it delivered - they came the same day :) The whole experience was so super easy, I was incredibly happy! So please, check out this place! Do not patronize this business under any circumstances! I was looking for a bed and the sales girl (owners daughter) said that she could beat the last quote I got at the previous store I visited. Sure she beat the price by $50 bucks! Little did I know that saving a few bucks would end up costing more in the long run! This is a list it what went wrong from there! 1. Delivery guy shows up late as heck. 2. The bed he delivered was broken 3. The owner had the nerve to tell me it wasn't his fault and that he would not be strong armed because of something out of his control!! WTF 4. The replacement bed took a week to show up 5. The first replacement bed was broken when it was taken out of the box 6. The 3rd bed was the charm (finally) Do you think the owner tried to make things right? No way! A discount, half off my next purchase, an apology letter, a follow up phone call? Not a chance. Bedder buy just wants your money! Once you hand it over, you can forget it. The customer service is horrible. Spread the word over facebook like I did! I tell anyone that will listen about this place. Horrible Experience! Worst customer service ever! Ordered a bedroom set last Saturday. Delivery was scheduled for Tuesday between 4 and 6. Didn't hear anything from them by 5:30. So, I called and was told by a woman who said she was the owners daughter that our furniture was not on the truck that day I got a lot of talk about her cold, and how Josh has messed up but he was really busy and the owners were out of town...blah blah. She rescheduled our delivery for Friday, but wanted to set the delivery window for 4 to 8PM. I told them no and that I wanted them to stick to their original delivery window. Josh called at 3:30 on Friday and confirmed that our furniture had arrived and confirmed that the delivery would be between 4 and 6. I voiced my displeasure with his failure to call me on Tuesday. He assured me that it would go off without a problem. Next call came from Josh at 5:30 saying his driver was stuck in traffic. And would be here by 6:15PM. Now I am upset. In all our conversations it was all about their issues and no concern that we were being inconvenienced. I called back at 6:25pm Josh slipped and told me the driver hadn't even left the store until 6pm. I let Josh know that I hate being lied to. I again got a lot of lip service about his problems...I told him that those were his problems and his job was to fulfill his promises to us. Driver shows up at 6:30PM in a pick up truck and says this isn't his regular job. Took him well over an hour to set up the bed frame. He wasn't happy that I refused to sign his paperwork. So if you are looking for customer service and a professional business you should look elsewhere. I'm not sure how they have stayed in business. read more

We stopped in after seeing a furniture piece they had posted on craigslist.com and I'm glad we did! Sonia and her father were very friendly and very accommodating. They knew a lot about their products and with a few questions were able to show us a slew of furniture from catalogs that matched what we were looking for (in addition to what was already at the showroom). Sonia was able to find us a great eco-friendly mattress and a gorgeous bedroom set for a good price! There were a few hiccups on delivery, but they were very apologetic and made everything right quickly. Honestly, I felt worse for them for feeling so bad about it. We've loved our bed and the matching furniture. It really ties the room together. We'll be back when we replace the mattress on the guest bed (sooner rather than later). read more

I needed a twin mattress badly, but I had a small budget. After checking out San Diego Mattress Man and 3 other places I stuck with Sleep Bedder. I went to Jerome's and they had a comparable mattress on sell, but Sleep Bedder had a 15 year warrenty on the mattress vs. their 10 years and it was more inexpensive with Sleep Bedder. Sonia was awesome, she wasn't forceful and I told her what my budget was and she worked with it. They also had my mattress on site, so I was really happy. They try to be nice in this store, I'll give them credit for at least trying to make an effort with their customer service. What I didn't like was the two dogs that ran around the store, jumping on the beds and couches, scratching and leaving hair on everything. There was a black futon couch in the back room completely covered in white dog hair...eww.Their little dog kept jumping at my son like he was half playing and half thinking about taking a nip at him. Not really what you want when shopping for a mattress, especially if you plan on lying down on any of the beds. Also I thought it was a bit unprofessinal that they had a guy sitting at a desk in the main room eating and watching videos on his laptop while we shopped, is there not a back room so I don't have to hear and see him chomping his food while talking about making a purchase? And now the day its delivered they tell us they didnt get the right bed frame and threatened to black list me and my wife from their stores we askedfor a refund and that was denied!
