One of my favorite locations...it's more than just a book store. Tia Chuchas is a community that…read morereflects strong values like inclusivity, sustainability and solidarity. The entire vibe from the moment you walk in feels welcoming. The events are sooo much fun, I highly recommend checking one out. The book selection is thoughtfully designed with diversity and representation in mind. It truly amplifies voices that are often underrepresented. I appreciate the resources for immigrant advocacy materials, support and fundraisers. They also host many community workshops, like sewing, hair braiding, and open mic events. Community building and creating resources for empowerment is one component. It's definitely not just a book store but a pillar in the community by creating space where identities are uplifted.

We arrived and checked in with no trouble (please note registration is required for events). There was a few set ups for the kids and each kid will then choose their controller. They started the tournament and it was so fun seeing all the kids in action. The staff was so friendly and provided food & drinks. This Event was completely free no cost. This is an amazing store with so much to look at and so many books to choose from. They will be having a few more events and you guys definitely need to to join me and the kids have already signed up for their Dia De Los muertos workshop. Can't wait.
