Rude attendants who don't stop people from throwing your clothes on the floor...even when you still have time on your dryer. The last straw for me (although I sadly will keep going there because it's so close) that caused me to write this review was when I asked if there would be any way that I could pay for them to dry and fold my clothes because I had to take my daughter to the ER and the girl first acted like she couldn't understand me and then yelled at me that they didn't do that and to go away. I would have gladly paid the price for complete washing, drying and folding but she was just so rude and unhelpful. And they never have the same hours...I've gotten locked out in the evening at like 9 PM even though they were supposed to be a 24 hour place and then again at like 8 PM after they changed their hours to not 24 hours. Why do I torture myself? Because the other laundromats within walking distance are usually even more crowded or are much more expensive.

The owner is a very hands on person making sure to deliver when promised and all in all this place truly deserves to be recognized. The owners are pleasant, and they do a fine job of cleaning our clothes. However, they do not accurately predict how long cleaning will take. Each time we dropped clothes they gave a pick-up date, and then don't have clothes ready by that date. They also don't call customers to say that their clothes are delayed -- you have to go in person, hear that your clothes aren't ready, come back in 3 days... and then you come back, and are told it'll be another 3 days... In the case of my wedding dress, they said it would be ready in 4 weeks from drop-off; after 4 weeks, we checked in at least twice a week (in person) and it wasn't ready for another 4 weeks. 8 weeks would have been a fine time to wait had we known that from the start -- but it's frustrating that they (a) don't give accurate wait times, and (b) don't call you when there are delays. For that reason, we won't be returning to Hi-Style-- just too annoying to manage errands around that. Unfortunate: the people were always nice!

The upkeep with this new owner was starting to get better BUT with that being said. It still has lots more room for improvement The women who work here are wonderful ...it is not their fault that machines do not work they way they should .SO we get to the convenience of the area and how easy it is to get here. BUT the situation again with the machines are rough! These machines have been here since the beginning ...I have been coming here since 1998 and these are the same ones. To be honest they stink. The wash time for dropped off laundry is quick and they do a good job with the clothes not to mention once you get your clothes back they're folded nicely. Got to the area a bit early for breakfast nearby and when cuz told me he needed an hour , that was the perfect opportunity to go to house of sudz II and wash and dry my bag of cloths .plenty of machines , plenty of seating and free wifi all equals a hour of washing and drying with no stress .I recommend bringing your own laundry detergent as it's standard detergent available here and some folks are allergic to some brand .I did my wash and clean for under 8 bucks and time went quick as I took a seat and watched a movie on my phone while WAITING. Good neighborhood Laundromat in Astoria that opens early , closes late and has top quality machines to get the job done . 4.5 stars on my yelp meter .
