The Mexican lady accused me of not putting any money in and mumbled something under her breath about someone having to look at the camera. Mind you, there are two card reload machines; the second one was not working, either. I've been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood two years ago, and the fact that I was made to feel like a liar by someone who probably is not at all part of our community is troubling. Now I am nervous to put more money in there cos I don't want to be in the same situation again. I need the owner(s) to rectify this situation with me soon.

I tried the wash and fold service before and had the clothes folded poorly with the same outcome. I figured it might be a one-off the first time. Went again and said the same thing. Both times I refolded the clothes myself to salvage what wrinkled messes I could. I tried to speak to the owners about it on the phone as I don't like to leave reviews without attempting to have a conversation about it to see what can be resolved. The owner said they are too busy to fold well and that I would need to pay for pressing or dry cleaning. She also said no one else has complained and implied it is only me. Now, I'm a guy who is probably about as great at folding as the next guy, but even I could tell these were just quickly rolled/folded together that they probably would have looked the same if just kept in the bar after drying. I'm just so confused by the owner too. She kept bringing up unrelated things like the costs. I have no problem paying extra if needed. She was mentioning other things rather than what I was calling about. I simply paid for the wash and fold service and know clearly understand this place is not the place to go. They are just ok if you need a place to go to do your own laundry like I usually do, but owners (both the husband and wife) have a way of making you feel in their way every time you are there. The last time I was there the guy was yelling at a Spanish speaking woman who didn't speak English and she didn't know what she was doing wrong. They just are not warm or friendly. If you can go someplace else, just do it. There is indeed a line between being unfriendly and rude and I think they are just use to crossing it. I don't know. So confused by this place. I should have read the other reviews beforehand and can see I'm not the only one who's seen the behavior of the two owners.

Long story short, the women at Hollywood are STELLAR. My clothes always smell fresh, are folded nicely, and more often than not I can pick my clothes up the same day I dropped them off! Loves: -Clean -Bright, but not too bright. -Close to my Apartment -24 Hour Bodega Across the Street -$1.50 for regular load, $3 for a double load, and they have some Giant Loaders too. Sadly, no freeloaders. -Dryers are $0.25 for 8 min and really work. -Out of order signs let you know which machines will steal your quarters. -Stay in and do your own, or drop it off (if you drop it off, be sure to get a Frequent Washer Card for 20lbs of free drop off laundry after you get 10 punches). -Most of the employees are very nice, but very shy. Hates: - Not enough seating (only 2 small benches) - They often lose one of my socks when I do drop offs. Just one, but never the same one twice. - Video Games and TVs often annoying loud when I am trying to read. But all in all, this is a better laundromat than most. The owner's wife charged me $25; that's fine, they charged me that on my last pair. While on the train, the husband calls me to tell me that it's $40 to clean them ... we went back and forth and I agreed because I do all my dry cleaning there; well I used to. I went to pick them on Holy Thursday before work and noticed the material had been damaged. The husband was there and after some negotiating he said to bring the receipt; clearly I had mentioned that the shoes cost me $165. That very day after work I went to purchase another pair and brought him the receipt. Now in good faith, I went in Good Friday morning to see them. I brought him the new pair so he can see the material as well as the black pair that I owe and I was wearing a purple pair. The husband wasn't there, the wife started yelling that we had agreed on 165$ and the receipt was for $180 ... yes there is tax on them but I would take the $165. She then went on to say the deal was with her husband so to come back. This past Tuesday I passed by again after work with a copy of the receipt of the new pair, dropped it off with the wife and she said her husband would call me when he finished up at the other location; as they have several. Today is Friday .... No phone call nothing. I went back just now to ask where my money was, the wife said " take your shoes, there's nothing wrong with them" I couldn't believe it ... after all this time, now they didn't want to give me anything.
