The TSA staff at the security checkpoint entrance gave little to no guidance and instead had that "come on..." look when I didn't immediately know what to do. It wasn't helpful at all, especially when traveling with really young kids, which already makes flying stressful. A few clear signs or better communication would go a long way. I walked by the bathroom near Gates 15 and 16, and it looked run down and dirty. It definitely didn't leave a good impression. On the positive side, there are plenty of restaurants and small newsstands throughout Terminals A and B. I know because my airline check-in was in Terminal B, but my flight departed from Terminal A, so I ended up taking an unexpected tour of the airport. As expected, the prices at the newsstands were expensive, but that's fairly typical for airports. Driving into SJC wasn't a great experience either. The road signs were confusing, and there were too many lane merges and last-minute lane changes, making it more stressful than it needed to be, especially for first-time visitors.

The free festival is a family-friendly open house with aircraft displays, aviation-themed activities and entertainment. Since there is limited parking at the Airport, free parking was designated at the South side parking lot at Eastridge Mall and free shuttle buses provided transport to and from the Airport every 10 minutes. There were many exhibitor booths with hands-on activities. There were many aircrafts on display. There was a stage with musical and dancing entertainment and food trucks. I found the activities from Noon-1:30pm the most entertaining. There was skydiving by Vitor of Silicon Valley Skydiving. Then a fly over by six planes by Beach Boys in various formations. Then members of the South Bay Soaring Society displayed and flew their radio controlled airplanes and gliders. It was a fun event to bring the community together to celebrate aviation and local culture.

I asked about their new runup area and they basically gave me a progressive taxi instructions to the area; you guys rock. Even the lineman was very friendly; he spoke tagalog so we had a quick chit-chat before we entered the lobby to meet our friend. Although dated, the lobby is rich in history, showing old photos of Amelia Reid, the aviator of which the airport is named. Departure towards the peninsula has some spectacular views. Expect to fly midfield of San Jose International, and you can see Apple campus and Stanford along the way. Too bad KRHV is being pinched on all sides by its neighbors and the county.

Formal Complaint - TSA Conduct at San Jose International Airport (SJC)…read moreI am submitting this review to formally document repeated unprofessional conduct by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel at San Jose International Airport. As a former airport employee who regularly passed through the employee security checkpoint, I observed and experienced ongoing issues with TSA staff behavior. TSA officers at this location consistently displayed poor demeanor, including hostility, impatience, and a lack of basic professionalism toward airport employees. Employees were frequently spoken to in a dismissive or confrontational manner, creating an unnecessarily stressful and adversarial environment. Of particular concern was a specific incident involving the damage of personal property. A TSA officer cracked my colleague's brand new mobile phone during the screening process. The phone had been clearly identified as being placed inside a screening bin. Despite this, an officer forcefully placed a backpack on top of the bin, resulting in damage to the device. This demonstrated a clear lack of care in handling personal property. Following the incident, there was no apparent acknowledgment of responsibility, apology, or corrective action taken. These repeated behaviors raise serious concerns regarding training, supervision, and accountability at this checkpoint. TSA officers are entrusted with ensuring security while maintaining professional standards and respectful treatment of both passengers and airport personnel. Based on my experiences, those standards were not consistently met at this location. I strongly recommend that TSA leadership review officer conduct at this checkpoint and implement corrective measures, including retraining and improved oversight, to prevent future incidents and ensure respectful, professional interactions.

I had no choice but flew Southwest Airlines on my way back during the chaotic Christmas Storm season when 60% of flights were cancelled. Here are my extended feedback from the survey: TSA agents = quit talking fast like you are from Mars. An Asian agent rushed all passengers like school children. The cleanliness of the security checkpoint = what's that smell? Really, something was on the carpet and no one cares to clean up. Wait time in line = line goes fast for some people. But mine was slow. Because I had a cat carrier. They demanded me to take everything out of my carry-on including my cat. When I warned about him might escape. They said wait aside for inspector. I said, wait, please give me my wallet and phone. They already passed the scanner. Guess what a TSA agent said? "We will worry about it at the end." What? End of what? End of my lawsuit or end of my life? I was tired waiting. So, I took my cat out. The inspector asked where was the cat. What? You blind?

So when I am thinking about a taxi company I'm thinking about a company that's local that provides good service with good drivers and decent vehicles. When I went looking for a taxi company in San Jose I immediately noticed that San Jose Airport Taxi company had plenty of reviews and that they had been around for quite some time and had a track record of providing good service. I felt that would be the safest route to take and boy was I right. The taxi that arrived was clean the driver was very well dressed and polite and the car actually got to my residence about 15 minutes early. The driver knocked on my door and assisted me with my luggage and we got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. And just so you know I gave the driver a huge tip because I really appreciate the excellent service that I received from San Jose Airport Taxi Company.
