Three of us came here for a late lunch. They have a lunch menu that ends st 3:00. We were seated right away and the waiter brought salsa and chips quickly and took our order. Our drinks were delivered quickly but it did take a long time for our orders to arrive. I got chicken and beef fajitas with beans and rice and salad ( lettuce , a little cheese and tomato ). My grandson got a chicken taco with beans and rice and a empanada. My daughter got a chicken sandwich with fries. Mine was just warm, not hot. The beans were different than most places but they were ok. My grandson did not eat more than two bites of the taco. I have never seen him do that before. He just didn't like it, even after we put salsa on it to try and improve it. Luckily my daughter had a big serving of fries and my grandson are most of them. They were the best thing we had. We had fried ice cream for dessert and that was just ok as well. Our first waiter was great, checked on us several times but then disappeared. The second girl was just like opposite. We had to ask to order the ice cream.... And we waited a long time before asking. The place is decorated beautifully and the booth was comfortable. Came here the other night and the food was really good the service was amazing the waiter was very friendly the only thing i did not like was they lied on the bill to automatically get a tip like i was going to leave one regardless i always do but why lie smh we only had 5 ppl in our party and one girl ended up having to pay a 20 tip that's just bad business in my opinion if you go here pay attention to your bill ! read more

We stopped on the way to the beach lured in by a very cool building in an old barn. Right away the waitress acted annoyed by our presence. We were in no hurry, so there was no reason for her to feel rushed. We were asked if we preferred mild or hot salsa, so I asked for one of each. I ordered the house guacamole while we reviewed the menu. For more mature patrons, the small print is not legible and I had to use a magnifier! LOL. The chips, Salsa and guacamole were delivered. Not a fan of the multi colored chips. They just don't seem fresh. The mild salsa must be for people who cannot handle ANY flavor whatsoever, but the hot was pretty good. It's more of a medium. The fresh guacamole was good although I am not a fan of chopped tomatoes in guacamole. We added more salt and lemon juice at the table. We ordered a spinach and chicken quesadilla and another chicken dish. I think it was a chicken relleno. All this time the waitress was not attentive, engaged or friendly at all. The extra dishes were not removed from the table, and when I asked for more salsa, and specifically said HOT SALSA, she brought the mild. So I asked again for the hotter salsa. I felt like I was bothering her. The quesadilla had no discernible cheese, so we asked if these were made correctly, and she said yes, that is how they make them. Never in my life have I had a quesadilla with no cheese, and I couldn't help but think she just said that to not be bothered. Got the bill and it was well over $50 for mediocre food and experience. We left a generous 15% for the poor attitude and service and I think that was being generous. read more

absolute horrific wait time we waited almost 2 hours to get our food and when the food finally came it was completely wrong

The service was outstanding. Our waiter recognized my husband drank a lot of tea and when he came back to the table he brought him a giant frosted mug of tea and kept it full the whole time. The meal was amazing. Highly recommend the La Paz Steak dish. Our family also had a chicken taco salad and fajitas. A good time was had by all. read more

I go to San Jose very often and it's always delicious so i didn't expect anything different this time! We ordered DoorDash for San Jose this afternoon for lunch and when i tell you i was completely shocked and disappointed. I ordered the shrimp tacos like I often do I don't like cheese or pico on them but there was no option to cancel them on DoorDash so I just ordered them how they come. By time we got our food my food was swimming in a pool of grease the tortillas were so soggy i couldn't even pick up the taco without the tortilla just ripping. Not to mention I found a hair in my chipotle ranch! So to say the least I was not a happy camper when my food came! read more

For the most part, I typically always have a great experience when dining at this Mexican restaurant. They are located in a great spot, I don't have to drive all the way into town to eat here. They have a reasonably sized parking lot, especially for the size of the town where it's located, I think that there is plenty of parking space. The exterior of the building isn't much impressive, but the interior is beautiful. I enjoy looking at what appears to be authentic Mexican and/or Latin artwork. The booths are nice and comfy, as well as the cute little seats at the stand alone tables. The food is ALWAYS hot, fresh and delicious! Guests receive complimentary chips and salsa upon being seated and having your drink order taken. The menu is large, with many different entree and appetizer options. Plus, they have a lunch menu and time frame, that allows for late lunch takers to partake in the inexpensive meal prices. The reason that I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because the customer is not always on point, it simply depends on whose section you're seated in and how they are feeling that day; it's never horrible service though. read more

Food was dry. like it was made with no love. the service was terrible, i had continuous servers come up to me and asked what i ordered just to give me the wrong order. I asked for melted cheese in my wifes tacos and they came up and brought me a taco with just chicken and I repeated myself again and they brought me shredded cheese. not only did they bring me shredded cheese. They tried to charge me for it. I had let them know my wife didn't like the tacos and if they could do anything about it. They said they could switch it out. just for them to try and charge me both so I decided to just leave. Rude waiter also told me its our fault for ordering wrong. and blamed us and tried to be funny. We walked into this place that had a beautiful atmosphere. We had a 25 minute wait and it looked pretty busy but we were seated after 10 minutes of waiting. The server was very polite and reserved. Long story short you would've expected some of the best mexican food to come out of the kitchen, but all that came out was bland. I mean everything we ordered was flavorless and inconsistent. Ive had better tacos at a gas station. If the food was even decent i would've given 5 stars. Now I'm upset and my stomach is bubbling. We spent over $100 here and were extremely disappointed. Taco Carnitas were very salty, Pollo Loco was the worst I have ever had-the chicken was like rubber, almost like it was microwaved. I could not even eat it it was so bad so a waste of $13 bc it was completely inedible. My daughters enchiladas were the absolute worst we have ever purchased. I almost was jealous of my 6 years kids menu quesadilla and French fries lol We were very disappointed in the quality of food and will not return. The restaurant is decorated well, the waiter was nice and service was fast, but not worth going back again. If I didn't feel bad, I would have asked for a discount...it was that bad. read more

Food was just typical Mexican fare nothing special at all. Just beware they don't tell you in advance or have signs but they charge a "convenience fee" if you use a card to pay . Did not know this until after the check was ran through the machine. My family will not be returning because of this but the food is just middle of the road wasn't bad but sure wasn't great. read more

Alright time to knock another restaurant off the list of places to visit. I first heard about this place from a friend. She mentioned the drive from where we live but assured me it was worth it. Pre Covid they used to make guacamole right in front of you. That was their initial draw to the restaurant. So we went on a Friday night. Got there around 5:45ish and were sat immediately. Parking lot looked full but this good size restaurant left plenty of room for people to come and eat. The waiter was prompt on food and drinks and got the order correct. Food was good. Service was good. We enjoyed it so much we went back a second time a week later. Service was ok but I think it's because the waiter was in training. Other than that service was good and food was good. Service wasn't horrible but from his confidence it seemed like he was new to restaurant. These foods we have gotten and have been impressed: Horchata (SO good) Pina colada Fajitas Guacamole Burrito Mexicano (once as chicken, once as steak) I can't handle heat but their hot salsa wasn't too hot. Their mild salsa had a weird taste to it. Warm chips are great, can't beat that. All in all this is a good place and well definitely go again. read more

Ordered the "California Fish Tacos," the red cabbage was brown, as though it had been chopped weeks previously. The fish was catfish, but looked limp, soggy and freezer burned, like fish sticks they had microwaved. I never ever send restaurant food back, but I did. Got Enchiladas Suizas instead, tasted like the sauce was green chilies blended into cream of mushroom soup. :( Service was poor. Guacamole was good. P.s. If you order Diet Coke they serve you Diet Pepsi. My husband and I are literally driving out of the parking lot. We went into this restaurant for dinner. Our waiter comes over, doesn't introduce himself, and asks DID we want anything to drink. I state, water with lemon as does my husband. He brings back 2 waters with no lemon. He then asks "would you like hot or mild salsa with your chips?" We both say mild. He brings back the chips and salsa and asks " do you know what you want? " We were still looking over the menu, but stated that we still needed a few minutes. Our few minutes turned into us leaving because he never returned to our table after 10 minutes of waiting. He was over watching television so we nicely walked out to another place that was friendlier. So to the nameless, unfriendly waiter, thank you for a first time visit experience.
