We have been here before, but last night was especially good. The servers are all so nice and helpful and want you to be happy and satisfied. The complimentary chips and salsa are really good- a pico and regular salsa- both delicious! My taco salad was very tasty - I ordered chicken/steak, onions/peppers along with the regular items- came out hot from being grilled- I loved that! My husband got the fajita nachos with chicken/ steak and they were very tasty as well! We both had skinny margaritas- YUM!! They have a very impressive e selection of tequilas!! I've been eating at this restraunt in Leesville for nearly 10 years. It is now my favorite restraunt, my go to. Two years in, I had a personal issue concerning my service dog, that was resolved and there's been no issue since. Management has changed and over the years the restraunt has grown, the food and service is wonderful and the ambiance and friendly staff make eating here a joy. In my travels, I occationally eat at other San Jose's and I sorry to say my least favorite is Lake Murray, which happens to be the closest. I dislike the style of service, it's a mix of table service and self service and I dont find it enjoyable. There's often a crowd at the counter where you place your order before sitting down and people moving around due to the self serve style. The food at the Leesville restraunt, to me, is only enhanced by the service. But as it happens...as it did last night and seemingly more frequent of late...the meal is not as enjoyable because the wait staff that evening does not understand English. I was unable to get the sides and condiments to enhance my meal and was thus disappointed. It appears I need to learn Mexican...lol. read more

Bleh! They gave me lemon in my corona beer and I asked for no beans just rice and I got tortilla chips with rice and liquid cheese . The I'm not sure what kind of meat in my fajitas was aweful! I ordered chicken and steak . Tough and dry , cut up into pieces you can hardly find in the soupy , slimy onion and bell pepper with a tad of tomato goop they call fajita's . This place was the worst San Jose I've been to. The food was so nasty and it made me sick. I also found a bunch of hairs, enough to make a wig. I saw a RAT walking around and it jumped on me. (I named the rat Remy) Also there were many holes on the wall and mold on the ceiling, it stinks and the lights were always flickering and eventually turned off. The employees were really mean and spat on my sister's face The bathrooms were nasty and a homeless man was washing himself with a sink. Food and service are on par with most Mexican restaurants. Staff are very friendly and that's all the nice points. We ordered take out two burritos deluxe dinners @ 9.99 each for a grand total to 20 bucks plus tax. We will call it 23 bucks tops. When we picked up our order there was a surcharge and 5% reclamation fee for using credit cards, for a grand total of $29.87. When asked why the extra fees, the employee said owners rules. So needless to say 7 bucks in surcharges for a take out meal. THIS IS WRONG! CUSTOMER BEWARE. read more

I'm going to start off by saying I don't typically leave bad reviews, but what this place is doing is crazy . As soon as we came in, we were greeted. Our server was quick and efficient he checked on us multiple times before we even ordered. When we looked at the menu to decide what we were going to get, we realized the prices on the menu had been blacked out We assumed that with the economy, they had raised the prices a few bucks. However, this was during lunch, and I was not expecting to pay 70.00 dollars plus tip for two people during lunch. The restaurant is nice, but not what I would consider fancy at all I don't mind paying the money. I mind that online the prices are different. My appetizer was more than my entree, and I only know that cause I glanced at the atomized receipt. Just put the prices on the menu and let customers decide what they can afford or want to spend. I enjoyed this place... food was very good. Typical Mexican fare as you would expect. The chips were fresh although I requested the "spicy" salsa and it took 3 reminders before it finally came out. I had grilled chicken with vegetables. The subbed extra vegetables for the rice and beans as requested. I really liked that they did that. My lunch entree was something like $8 and I had a co-worker with me. Our bill came out and it was $80!!! They accidentally rang up my meal as $70 or so. However, they fixed promptly. read more

After three plus months, I finally got an apology from San Jose management for their staff having refusing me equal service due to my use of a service dog. The manager, Heather, was very apologetic and said all the staff was properly informed of ADA and South Carolina human rights concerning the use and access of service animals. I was served and then given a complimentary meal and further told a sign welcoming the use of service animals will be posted on the front door. Except for the time it took to resolve the issue, I'm satisfied the issue has been resolved. read more

Great service. Very nice and quick food delivery. Ordered the taco asada. I was hoping for authentic steak tacos but this wasn't it. Big amount of food which is nice but it's so bland that it's not worth it. Massive amount of chips given when seated. I prefer chunky salsa and this was a smooth salsa with a little kick of spice. Not bad. I'd really only come here for chips and salsa plus margaritas. The margarita was great. Could definitely taste the alcohol and it's a lot for a small. The taco asada came with rice and beans. The rice had no flavor, honestly tasted like white rice that they added orange dye to because it was that bland. Had to use the salsa that came with the chips to make it edible. Didn't like the beans, were clumpy and had an off flavor. Steak for the tacos had no flavor. Was hoping the onion and cilantro served on the side would help with that but it didn't. The chopped onion tasted like it was cut the day before. They were dry and flavorless. Was really disappointed in it. We also ordered the number 4 combo which came with a taco, tostada, enchilada, and rice. The meat on the taco had absolutely no flavor. It was just ground beef. No salt or seasoning. Same with the tostada. The enchilada had a brown gravy which was disgusting. I think they tried making it homemade but it just was not good. I'd be better off making this at home than coming here. Come for drinks and chips with friends but the bland food is not worth the money. I'm giving them a 2 because the service was great and quick and the margarita was the only thing flavorful. read more

Good food. Major changes in management.. One day free refills on soft drinks and pico, next day charge you $4.00 for pico and 2.00 for refill. Non gender bathrooms have to open the door to figure out what matches you gender. Management when confronted about issues play like they do not speak English even though I can speak Spanish and I seen them fluent speaking English. If you have rules then be consistent. I really wanted this to be a good Mexican restaurant like the one by the same name in West Columbia SC. The decor is nice, service is good but the quality of the food is lacking. I like fish tacos, among other dishes, and theirs is lacking. The fish comes in mushy pieces instead of a nice grilled filet like in other places. The fried Calamari was lukewarm greasy and overall unremarkable. Fast, efficient service...the food is fresh and excellent...prices are fair, and the portions "hefty" It was a long drive from Aiken, SC, to Batesburg-Leesville, but this restaurant made it worthwhile, to say the least! We were immediately greeted as we entered, and, because the weather was great (82 degrees and sunny!), we sat outside, and, since the restaurant is pet friendly, our dog joined us at an outside table. Our drink orders were taken immediately, and delivered within 3 minutes. We ordered our appetizer (super nachos) and main dishes. I had the Mexican burger combo, Wanda had the arroz con mariscos (seafood and rice, with guacaole salad). The ordered food items were delivered within 8 minutes. Wanda's main dish was perfectly prepared. The sauce perfectly complemented the seafood items..."the best seafood I've had since moving to South Carolina!". My Mexican burger and fries with cheese was perfectly prepared, with the burger being more-than-enough in size and taste. Our drinks were delivered quickly, and were in large containers, with refills delivered quickly on demand. All staff we interacted with were cordial and friendly, quickly responding to our requests for items and refills. We split the flan dessert order (which was also ample and tasty!). (Note- the restrooms were large and clean, and easily accesible) Our check was delivered to us quickly, with no waiting at all. Total charges for our delicious meals was $35, a very, very good price for the portion sizes and excellent quality of all food items and level of service. This place is going downhill fast. When it first opened to today big differences. Smaller portions with a higher price. We ordered one combination meal and one not a combination. It's was dinner not lunch. My food was too salty chicken fajitas and hardly no meat and very little green peppers, my salad was just iceberg lettuce a slice of tomatoe a tablespoon cheese and not even a tablespoon of guacamole. My hubby's combination cheese quesadila with burrito and tamale was very small and not tasty. We will not return...we live locally but you get better food at Moes in Lexington. read more

Best restaurant in the area for great food and family gatherings. We had a large party of 15+ people without a reservation and they sat us in about 10 mins. The service was excellent and never had to ask for a drink refill! The server saw one of my children was having a little meltdown, and started playing peek-a-boo briefly with him! He loved it! Our food came out quickly and everyone received what they ordered. At other restaurants they would typically forget something or get an order wrong, with this size party. I ordered the carne asada tacos, and they were AMAZING! We enjoyed our meal and can't wait to come back to enjoy a meal on the patio.
