My half-day Lime Kiln Lighthouse tour went exceptionally well. I was given a ride from my lodging to and from the tour. The tandem fiberglass kayaks were very stable and gorgeous. High recommend! We've gone out with this company two years in a row, and all the guides have been excellent. The 3 day tour this past weekend was a great amount of time, we camped a couple nights, paddled for 3 solid days and saw lots of sights without getting too fatigued. Our guide (Jury) was a stellar group leader. A really good balance of 'on top of it' (gave us confidence we we're safe, and kept things running smoothly) while being relaxed and never making us feel rushed. On top of it he was great chef, preparing us way better meals than I thought possible on a three day trip without any power and limited storage space in the kayaks. We took the 6 hour tour with Shannon and Tony. They were super knowledgeable about the geography, history, flora and fauna of the area. They were highly engaging to our two teenagers, and kept them well entertained for the duration of the tour. At one point, Tony caught a dungeoness crab for us to look at up close. What a top to bottom great experience. Cole and the crew took us out (fortunately on a beautiful weather day) for the full day tour and they couldn't have been more prepared, professional and engaging. Super quality and beautiful boats, and substantive educational points and conversation. Cole quickly identified a humpback whale spouting in time for us to catch a great view of it, which was awesome. We also caught a great view of some seals sunbathing. What set it apart part was it felt like being on the water with friends. They even took the time to give us an impromptu tour of the island on our way back to town. There aren't enough stars to rate what a fantastic trip we had. We chose the full day lunch trip to Lime Kiln and I'm super glad we did--the trip was great fun and I would have been sad if it were less time. Our guides, Maddy and Cooper, were excellent. Knowledgeable and friendly, great senses of humor, and a lot of fun to spend the day with. We met two of the other guides and they seemed great too, so I bet you can't go wrong. Lunch was just right and those cookies for dessert were delicious! And booking was super smooth with prompt responses and an easy process. It was a short drive from the meeting spot and we got into the water pretty quickly. Nice paddle on a beautiful sunny fall day. We did a two day paddle around the San Juans with our guide, Jury, and 6 other folks, five kayaks and ten people total. It was invigorating, peaceful and beautiful. Jury was generous and knowledgeable about the terrain and improving our paddling skills. We saw deer, fox, seals and otters. We paddled like hell to catch up to some Orcas but they swam north. Conditions were a bit rough but Jury helped explain everything clearly and it was easy to trust him to navigate us through the choppy waters. We went on the 5 day trip and it was magical. Jury was our guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the waterways and weather to insure a safe and enjoyable trip. He would check conditions daily and then give the group options about what we could do. We camped at 3 beautiful islands that had spectacular hiking and island exploration. We saw tons of wildlife and Jury was a very accomplished naturalist and able to identify and share information about what we saw. We saw so much! Bald eagles feeding on salmons. Seals hauling out with their pups. Countless birds, sea otters, star fish and even an owl. The food was hot and delicious and Jury insured the group gelled well together. My partner and I did a sunset tour with Austin and we had a blast! It was just we three on the trip, but my partner and I have very different experience levels with kayaks and water sports in general. Nonetheless, we were both completely comfortable, and Austin explained everything clearly and answered any questions that came up very readily. During our tour, the weather was lovely, the kayaking was very calm and relaxed, and my favourite part, we got to see lots of seals, including a mama seal and her baby! They came up quite close to us so we stopped paddling and just drifted past as not to disturb them, as mama was teaching baby to dive for fish. We also saw several bald eagles and other sea birds. Something in particular that I really appreciated was that Austin was very knowledgeable about the water conditions and wildlife from the perspective of both a sailor and a kayaker; so no matter how active the wildlife around us were, there was always something new to learn. I'm so glad we did this tour and I would absolutely recommend it to all kayaking experience levels (including no experience at all)! Thanks, Austin! read more

Did a Self-guided trip and these guys set us up for success!! Cole helped with trip planning and provided all equipment necessary to get around the SJI on the kayak. The day of departure they were extremely helpful in getting everything to the launch point and giving a brief overview. Specifically Noah helped a ton and was generally awesome! The trip itself was magical, and doing it self-guided was absolutely the right call for us. Due to other guided trips going on Cole had to call in some backup in the form of Ryan to come grab us as Turn Island State Pk and managed to get us out and even dropped us off at the ferry. We enjoyed a beautiful day trip kayaking and hiking. A tasty lunch was included. Originally, we were looking into just renting a kayak and going on our own, but because of liability issues, most of the kayaking companies around the island have to limit where solo kayakers can take the rented boats. We ended up booking the guided day trip with San Juan Kayak Expeditions. Thanks to our guide, Ryan, the atmosphere was laid back and we got to go where we wanted. We quietly watched harbor seals investigate the kayaks, saw some quails while hiking and enjoyed the Salish stories Ryan shared. We just finished a 3 day coastal adventure tour with our guide Sean. The entire experience far exceeded our expectations. Sean made the best food, made us all feel safe and had plan B and C for day 2 when the wind was questionable to take the normal route. I recently completed the five day trip. It was a great adventure enhanced by the planning and professionalism of San Juan Kayak and, in particular, our guide Jury. He knew the winds and tides and was able to change our itinerary to make paddling more pleasant and safer.
