We had a pretty rough experience with San Luis Marble. We set an appointment and the sales person was a no show. We found granite at a competitor, but allowed San Luis Marble to quote for fabrication - she was late for that appointment too - hmmmm writing on the wall?. Three pages of "stuff" accompanied our bid and we were left with a very sour taste in our mouths: property liens, not responsible for anything, up charges galore but the coup de grâce was that my handrail was drawn backwards! They may be "ok" fabricators, but I just didn't feel comfortable letting them touch the irreplaceable granite slabs we had purchased. read more

Very disappointed. The installation team was great, respectful, punctual, answered all my questions and did great work. The fabrication (Thomas) and sales team was another story. Calls were ditched, important information withheld, and promises broken. My countertop product was wasted. I was told twice management would contact me to discuss but no one from headquarters ever called. If it wasn't for the beautiful product and installation, this would've been a disaster. I'm exhausted from this, I cannot recommend them. read more

SLO Marble assisted with providing the finish on the reception desk at my new business. Entire process took less than 3weeks from selecting stone, taking measurements, approving cuts, and final install. Jesse and Conner did an awesome job completing the entire install in one day. The final product was beautiful with care to details. read more

We cannot recommend San Luis Marble in San Luis Obispo for residential kitchen countertops. In May 2025, They installed a quartz kitchen countertop for us that had two major issues in our opinion. SL Marble admitted to one of their mistakes, but not the other. As a contractor for Home Depot, they told us to complain to Home Depot about their work. Between Home Depot and San Luis Marble, we had to wait until Nov 2025, over five months, to get our kitchen finished, while our disconnected oven and dishwasher sat in separate rooms. We had to wait several stress filled months for a job that should have been corrected in less than 30 days. We felt like we were being held hostage until we agreed to pay significant extra funds for San Luis Marble's mistakes. read more

After seeing the gorgeous custom countertops San Luis Marble installed for my neighbors, I knew I had to work with them too -- and I'm so glad I did. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless. Their customer service was excellent, everyone was incredibly helpful, and the workmanship is absolutely stunning. I couldn't be happier with the final result. Truly grateful for the care and detail they put into helping make my house feel like a home. read more

Disaster. I would like to give than less than one star. The demo team came in and did a nice job, but they overcharged me for the demo. A refund was not offered until I complained. Next, the guy came to measure. He told me that my countertop was not wide enough for the granite backsplash that we paid for. That turned out to be wrong. There was room. Then the guys came to install the countertops. They cracked one of them because they used an aluminum level instead of a proper brace to support it during installation. They patched the crack, but it still has a crack in it. The other separate section of countertop was dull and all scratched up. Terrible. I told them to remove it, fix it, and bring it back. They did nothing. Finally I had to convince them to "refurbish" it. This should have been done before they brought it. They were paid $499 to install my plumbing and disposal. They arrived, and decided not to do it after they had been paid. In addition, they left a terrible mess in my yard that took me over an hour to clean up. The "additional" charges they list for services related to granite installation are highway robbery. It was truly a horrible experience, and it didn't have to be that way. I will never do business with them again. read more

I live up in Salinas and give 5 stars to SLM's Santa Maria location! Cheyenne, Ron and team took photos of the slab I was interested in (so I could be confident in purchasing it over the phone) and after I drove down to get it, loaded it into my vehicle for transportation home. Cheyenne also let me know another slab from their online inventory wouldn't be appropriate. Great communication, integrity, and service! read more

Wish I could do no stars. Not only have they lied about costs upfront, they have lost the final draft with our signatures, and now they have the audacity to call and ask for even more money for sudden changes past the final SIGNED draft and claim they can't give us a copy of said signed draft. They claim changes to the draft, added on tons of extra fees and now we're forced to refund any installation and go with someone else. Making our renovations take EVEN LONGER. 0/10. Horrific customer service, management, and will ghost you if you won't pay the extra fees that they spring on you at the last minute. Highly unprofessional. Avoid at all costs. read more

Just got my countertops from San Luis marble installed in our outdoor kitchen and they look fantastic. Hugo and his team were great to work with through the entire entire project. It took a bit longer than initially expected due to some changes, but he and his team were patient and adaptive, and worked through all of the challenges. The end product turned out great. If you get Hugo and his team on your project you won't be disappointed. read more

Recently, SLM installed countertops and backsplashes for our completely remodeled kitchen. When the installer arrived to do the install, we were told that a couple of pieces didn't get loaded on the truck. One piece was a TEN FOOT section of backsplash. I would think that that would be hard to miss. The installers did a great job installing the PIECES THAT THEY HAD. It was another TWO WEEKS before SLM came back to finish the install. This delay caused our Contactor to delay the finishing work another ONE WEEK. As you can see by the attached photo, the finish of the exposed end on the countertop is NOT a finished edge. read more

San Luis Marble is amazing! They installed a few counters in our hair salon and they're beautiful! The customer service was top notch. Their inventory is large and they do the whole project from start to finish. We picked out our material in their slab yard, then they came out and measured. Shortly after they were there to install! Seamless from start to finish! Thank you!! read more

Quality craftsmanship and customer service. I recently contacted Brooke at their office regarding our countertop that had been installed years ago by this company. Hugo and Salvador did a great job installing marble bathroom countertops in two different bathrooms. They did an amazing job and I couldn't believe how fast they got it done. Yesterday Hugo and Salvador installed our quartz bath countertop. They did an excellent job, and left site clean and tidy. Hugo called to give me timeline so I could meet him at project. Professional, friendly and a good listener. He had me approve exact locations for faucet handles before drilling holes. Highly recommend this team along with Thomas from San Luis Marble. We will definitely hire for future projects. read more

I cannot even give this company one star. Our marble table cracked down the middle within six months of installation - the table is only used as our dining table. Daniel not only ignored my numerous calls, but stated that they do not guarantee their product and there is nothing they will do to repair or replace the marble table. They sent over two gentlemen to check on the installation, and while they said the stone was installed correctly they also said that marble does not 'crack" as this had unless it had had a flaw. Horrible service, poor quality product - extremely expensive Look anywhere else for marble but do not consider San Luis Marble read more

Consider my experience before hiring. SL marble made an appointment for 8:30 -12:00 on Monday, they texted me on Friday to confirm, because I had to drive 212 miles to make the appointment and I got up at 4:00 am so I can be there on time on Monday. I received another text to confirm that they were going to be there between 8-12pm, I waited until 11:30 and I called Kat and she told me that they canceled the appointment, I asked why they didn't call or text me, so I could have avoided my to and from 424 mile drive, all for nothing, and the answer was "the computer did it". We set another appointment for measurements and Zack, with an attitude, would not listen to what I wanted to have done and I explained to him which sink went with which bathroom and I offered to make the templates and he said I couldn't go to the office, just email them the measurements. Guess what happened. They cut the wrong quartzite slab for the wrong bathrooms. After installation, it was discovered when they tried to install the cooktop, that they measured wrong and their person told me that they would have to take my stone to their shop to correct their mistake. They could not make the corrections on site. When they took my stone back to their shop, they broke a slab and now can't find 2 slabs to match the 3 other slabs they installed. I have paid approximate 20k for the slabs and the cost of the labor to fabricate. I do not have a high opinion of the quality of their work. I am not happy with the "gap" between the cabinet and the slab. I would be very cautious about any promises they make concerning the work they propose to perform. If there was a zero rating, I would provide a zero. BE CAREFUL read more

We've been having a great experience with San Luis Marble. Been looking for a counter top for our kitchen remodel. We've been to other places where the customer service was so-so. I had a coworker recommend this place and gave it a shot. Their selection on site isn't the largest in the area, however, why they have is really nice. Also their slabs are thicker which can help with saving in manufacturing costs. Other bonus is they are a turnkey business. They have materials, design, build, and install. Other places are suppliers only. The last great selling point is their customer service. Anna and Marlaine have been wonderful. They're friendly and provide great service. I highly recommend this place. read more

My first impression of SLO Marble was good. I thought their remnant program was a fair price. I have a small bathroom countertop and signed off on the measurements. I am not in the business of designing or measuring and had to rely on their expertise. I thought it would be perfect. When the project was finished, it was obvious that the person that measured the counter did it wrong. When I mentioned it to the installer, he said "some people like bigger countertops." I told him" I was not one of those people and this looks bad." When I called the salesperson, I was told I signed off on the project, and the person that measured my cabinet no longer works there. The next day everything shut down due to COVID. I remember when I was in the retail shop talking to the salesperson, she mentioned a large new hotel in SLO was unhappy with their work ... but they "signed off on the project." I should have known at that moment they would not be responsible for their work. Am writing this review because not only would they not make good on their mistake, but now they DOUBLED the price. I said I would pay the same price I paid before, but they said "I signed off on the paperwork and it was a long time ago" I did call right after this happened but the next day everything shut down. I am a victim of timing and the shutdown. But again, they are using that excuse to NOT fix their error. It's a small project and I wish they would do the right thing, but there was NO response to my request. I even asked my request to go to management or the owner. Again, no response. People need to know to get a second opinion before you sign off on paperwork -that they should have right the first time. OR use another company that has a better reputation. read more

Hidden fees, unprofessional, condescending and uninterested in working with clients. Run for your life! Hired them through Home Depot.

My friend Lin asked me to write this for her as she does not do computer stuff. Lin and Jim used Costco, who had SLM, replace their front bathroom counter with very nice quartz. That project took 6 weeks, due SLM moving heir fabrication operation to a new location. When they decided to have their master bath counter replaced, they went back to SLM and found that their remnant from the first job was available for purchase and were told "if you buy it today" it would only take 2 weeks to install. So they did. It two weeks to get the template guy out another two weeks to fabricate and when it was ready to be installed, they were told they had cut the wrong size holes and had cracked it. SLM ordered another piece and fabricated again, this time the holes were too small and had to be modified on site. This took another two months. Lin and Jim were not offered any break in the price for the job, after living with torn up bathroom for several months. They remain disappointed and will not recommend them to any of their friends. read more

Melissa was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was knowledgeable, patient and friendly. She truly earned our business. Highly recommend.

Mellisa was my first point of contact and helped me narrow down what I was looking for at a great price! Jessie and Josh did an amazing job on the installation. Zack was quick in doing the templating. Everyone was very professional and would highly recommend for their prices and the amount of time it took for ordering to installation was only about less than 3 weeks total! Absolutely great people work here, but the management must be terrible, because there were so many dropped balls and errors on our order that it has to be process problems. We ordered Cambria countertops. The sales person Melissa was great taking the order and taking my money. However, after asking for status of scheduling several times over two weeks and getting "Oh, our scheduler must be busy..." replies, I said I was going to come to the showroom to see what was going on. Then, within the hour, I got a call from the scheduler who said that was the first he'd heard of the order. From there, Thomas (the scheduler) was great and everything went smoothly with our kitchen and bathroom countertops. Couldn't be happier. The tile we ordered however was a processing disaster. Again, with Melissa, after I told her our choices, she didn't follow up or check lead times on the tiles. That led to a fire drill on getting the tiles because we had our tile guy scheduled already. Dare took over and worked tirelessly to get us the tile. But mistakes were made throughout. Initially, only half the tile was ordered. Then with the second order, it wasn't quite the same size. This meant a second delivery fee. Then we realized we were short some tiles and they were ordered but shipped a way that cost us double what it should have been. The management team doesn't empower the employees to refund customers when mistakes are made that were not the customer's fault, causing extra costs. We lost our window with our tile guy and it took us 6 months to get back on his schedule. Not fun. The end result is beautiful, but with headaches all along the way. I would definitely get tile elsewhere. read more

I am not a fan of using contractors for work done on my house. I would rather do everything myself. So when my husband suggested we look for a contractor for our partial kitchen remodel, I was skeptical and hesitant. After walking thru a few stone companies/showrooms in the Santa Maria area, we chose San Luis Marble. I was pleasantly surprised with the whole process of working with them. Not only did we love our sales person, we also got a phone number where a live customer service rep would answer questions we had. Based on my 5-star review, it's obvious I am happy with the whole process. In a world where customer service doesn't seem to be as important as it once was, it is wonderful to see a company who still believes in its value. Ask for Dare in the Santa Maria office/showroom. She is great. I also got to meet the President of the company so that was an added bonus as well. read more

I'm still waiting for a call back from a manager. I know it's only been 2 days but we have a problem. The granite was not supported to the product specs or to the San Luis Marble fabricator's (their own guy) recommendation and our job it at a stand still until this get s fixed. The contractor showed us where the problems are and our job is at a stand still until we get a response from SLM. Upon calling in yesterday and explaining our concerns, I thought we would receive a call back. Nope, Nada. So I called again today and still nothing.
