I paid $55 bucks for the hair cut when really it was just a trim. She seemed like she didn't know how to touch my hair as I have shiny straight Asian black hair. So it feels that their ideal that they can do any type of hair is really false. Also she was super rough when she was washing my hair. I don't know if that's just how she does it or she intentionally was being rough. It was also super rough when she dried my ears because it felt like she really didn't care and it hurt. It was really uncomfortable when she would stand in front of me, and her body was touching my knees. I never had a hair dresser touch any part of my body, so it was quite a shock to me. What also threw me off is when I asked for a wolf cut and she had question of, "Do you style your hair like that?". I think it was a sign that she knew she couldn't do what I wanted. Lastly, if they know you aren't a good client. You really just default to whoever can take you. Because there was another hair dresser that came to Alexus and was asking her if she wanted this client, and she openly said, "No, I don't want to take her." Which I found really unprofessional. I've only had great experiences, but they were at another location. When I moved to a different part of the cities this was the closest salon. I trusted them, and made sure to pick a stylist that had years of experiene doing a type of coloring that I hoped to get. I brought almost a dozen photo references, including photos of what I didn't want that I've had in the past. I was very clear on what I wanted and didn't, but the stylist seemed annoyed. She didn't even look at the photos. Several times through the service I voiced my concerns that I wasn't liking how it was turning out, but she kept reassuring me that it would look great. She was super rough brushing and blowdrying that it hurt, and the result looked exactly like my "do not" photos. I wanted ombre, but got chunky, streaky highlights that stopped an inch from my roots. They weren't blended or even symmetrical. They were copper yellow, not brunette. I told her I didn't like it and that it didn't look like the photos, and she argued with me that it did, that I shouldn't have tried this when my hair was colored previously (6 months prior), and in fact she loved it. I asked if it could be fixed, and she said I could only do another gloss but that wouldn't turn out well. I was so disappointed and discouraged. I'm not usually one to speak up, but I was so upset about the color and it was so expensive I had to. I cried in the car! When I called back, I felt like I wasn't being listened to, was argued with, and made to feel stupid like I didn't know what I was looking at. I came in to get a very simple and straight 2 inch hair trim from Bella and it did not go as I was hoping. Bella was polite and listened to my easy request but her attention to detail and quality was not there. I came in with my hair almost fully dry from freshly washing it so she asked if I had just washed it, which of course I answered yes to. But I wasn't expecting this question to indicate that she would start cutting my hair dry. At first I was confused because at every salon I've been to, shampooing is usually included into the price of a hair cut but I went along with it thinking maybe this place just likes to charge more for shampooing and not mention that on their website or in person (and at this point I wasn't interested in paying them extra for it anyways). Then my dissatisfaction really started to kick in when I watched Bella measure my hair for evenness. When she did this, she took a part of my hair on both sides the first time really fast and with a very quick eye (possibly noticing a difference in length, I'm not really sure); then again immediately after only using her sense of touch while looking completely away from my hair altogether. The day of the appointment I got a call from someone else (stylist B) saying that she was running 20 min behind and asked if I could come 20 min later than scheduled, I said sure and that's what I did. She said "your haircut is now with Stylist C and pointed to another woman standing by the desk. I had no choice in the matter and was already very annoyed but the switch ups but didn't feel like I could say no, plus I needed a haircut. Let's just say I was less than thrilled with stylist C and the haircut I ended up with. Also very unhappy with how unprofessional stylist B was, she never mentioned she is taking over my appointment, and she called to change the appointment time and was still unavailable. I also want to mention that I emailed the salon sharing my disappointment and have not heard back at all.. no apology, explanation or anything. If I were to nitpick, I'd prefer more steam, a more thorough extraction for my nose pores (I could still see my nose pores were not clear), and a little bit more pressure with the product application around the nose area, but that's just my preference and what I'm used to. I will request that at my next booking! For the environment, I do wish it were in a little bit more secluded area because it's pretty much in the center of the salon so you can hear EVERYONE'S conversation. So it was a bit noisy for a "luxurious spa" experience. But for the price, you really can't complain. I've only ever gone to Spavia (SUPER luxurious), so my expectations might be a little up there since I've never gotten a facial at a Salon specific place before.
