Very mediocre for what I expected/paid for. The owner & assistant did my hair. It was done very quickly. I showed a picture of highlight/lowlight But my hair turned out very bright blonde. I ended up coming back and having it redone. When she was blow drying it, I'm assuming there was a patch that had uneven Darkness to it, instead of correcting it, she turned the chair around, didn't say anything to me, and just cut out the hair. I have very long hair, so I'm not sure if she didn't think I'd notice or what. I was so appalled I didn't know what to say or how to react to the 5" chunk of hair sitting on the ground. needless to say, I have not and will not go back. read more

Few things I left this appointment feeling extremely disappointed about, but the main one is how completely and horribly damaged my hair is and how much fell out at and following my appointment. My hair has lost HALF of its volume.. you know when you wrap your hand around your pony tail? It's half as thick :( First off, I scheduled online for a full or partial Balayage to touch mine up from a previous salon in Denver I got a year previously. My hair felt SO healthy and thick so I figured a minor touch up wouldn't be too bad on it. I scheduled and it said it would be ~$175. I got to my appointment on time and waited about 45 minutes, which she did apologize for. I'm always nervous to get my hair done, so once I got there and saw Ilona, I showed her 3 inspo pics and said I want it to be subtle, easy to grow out, not up to my roots and not too blonde. She told me it would be about $500. i am glad she told me that upfront, and appreciated that. I was about to leave, but she suggested baby lights just to brighten it a little... after talking for almost 10 min and looking at the pics more, she said she thought it would be perfect so we went for it for $300 or so. Once she started, she made a few comments saying wow this is going to be super blonde you'll love it . I reminded her I didn't want it too blonde.. We washed it out and omg. It was like white, and up to my roots, it also was stringy and rubbery like the dye was on too long on my fragile areas (around my face). I immediately got so nervous and felt bad, but said it wasn't what I wanted, which I rarely ever would do! She started combing it out, and chunks were coming out... I commented on it and she said my hair was very damaged before - I had gotten it cut a month prior and that lady commented how beautiful and healthy my hair was at that time and I agree! My sisters also had just told me how thick and evenly cut my hair was following that cut. I was also bothered that if she thought it was "very damaged" before, that she wouldn't tell me that to start. Anyway.. it turned out very blonde and to the roots so she had to put a darker dye over the roots which was semi permanent.. I asked it to be spread down farther on my head, so it looked nice after she styled it with volume spray. It has been about a month and I've spend over $150 on products, new combs, a fancy hair towel, masks, olaplex shampoo, being SO CAREFUL with it and everything... and it's fading to a yellow tint and breaking off more everyday.. I even found a huge solid chunk in my washer :S I feel bad because she was nice, and I'm sure she does good work other times, but I just don't want someone else to have this same situation. Would not recommend... will have years of damage to repair :( read more

I got 2 rows of 24" extensions put in back in May 2021, the total with install and color was $3,000. Typically I pay $1500 for the same product/service but justified it because the owner told me this hair lasts double the amount of time, will easily last 1+years, typically mine last about 6 months & then need a touch up.. I get biweekly blow outs, use professional products & have a special filter on my shower, Less than 5 months later the hair is falling out, stringy, and needs to be replaced. I feel this place is very dishonest, does not stand behind their work & completely overcharges for average work. Would never recommend anyone go here, dishonest business. read more

Charged me $650 for a half foil highlight. Damaged my hair. It's been 1 year and my hair is still fried. Meanwhile my regular hair stylist would charge me $100 for a FULL foil. I feel like an idiot going outside my regular hair stylist. Did I mention they did my makeup using used make up brushes during covid and caked that makeup on so much I looked like a hot mess? Made an appointment with Ilona asked her if she can take me in, She reached back to me said she can take me in on Tuesday at 4 o'clock. I said great so I was in the area all day waiting for my appointment at 3:20 I get a call saying yeah she can't do it because she has to do someone's extension and the girl on the phone made a passive rude comment about the fact that I made an appointment through her not online.. they always do that if someone richer comes along they don't care they don't give a crap that you've been waiting. The salon is not cheap- however I would give up many others things before i would go to a different salon. They are always on time- always efficient getting me in and out. They have coffee- tea-snacks available- food if requested. These ladies will bend over backwards to provide a great experience. Overall I've been very happy with the service and results at SilVie. The main reason for my 5 start review is the way a mistake in scheduling was handled. The hostess dealt with the situation gracefully and the stylist, Carly, offered to open the salon early to accommodate my appointment. Above and beyond exceptional customer service!! Carly is fantastic! She's the perfect combination of friendliness and professionalism with good conversations that are genuine in nature, rather than forced small-talk. It's really a pleasure to spend the 2+ hours with her; since that's how long it takes to get my hair done it means a lot to have the time pass pleasantly. Carly has also made suggestions in services to attempt keeping the cost down as much as possible, which is greatly appreciated. An ammonia-free color option is important to me so the salon delivers on the product with a stylist that is able to maximize the results. The vanilla latte, cookies and hand treatment during the service doesn't hurt either ;) The owner, Silvia, does a great job watching the details of the salon to deliver. read more

Went in to get a hair treatment done and it absolutely made my hair and scalp feel great! I would go back for the treatment for sure. The guy hair stylist was very nice as he greeted me sincerely, even when I was not his client, and i think I may go to him for a haircut in the future. I had my treatment done with Laura. She knew what she was doing and she had a nice calming voice, although she was not very friendly. On a side note: They are pricey for a student like me and some of the treatments are not explained or stated on their website, so I ended up paying way more than I expected. The salon in general give a feeling of "pushing sales" (with haircuts and products), and i did not like that feeling. I liked the salon as it is very upscale. I was told that it is a new salon just opened 3 months ago and everyone in the salon owns it - which is great! Alll in all, if I were affluent, I would go here even if it is quite far away from where I live (45 mins). read more

I've tried a few spray tanning places in the city and theirs is one of the best. Their staff is always very friendly and inviting they always greet you when you come in. The product I use is very natural and moisturizing. This tan overall has a very natural look to it . I really like that they are very accommodating and can usually work you in for a time that is convenient for you. The location is great too! read more

First off, I did enjoy the way my hair turned out, however, as others mentioned here, pricing was not at all straight forward and honestly pretty deceptive. I went in for a cut and color as I had been growing out/not coloring for 2 years so I was able to donate my hair. The stylist consulted me in the chair (I did not book an online service) and quoted me $250 for the cut and color I requested. I agreed as this was what I was comfortable with spending. So we begin...I asked to have 8 inches cut off to donate, but my hair was never measured before cutting and the stylist actually cut off 11 inches! No worries, it's going to a good cause, right? Well, several hours later and my color was complete, yay! The stylist asked if I'd like for her to put some curls in my hair. Sure, why not? After this, the stylist took plenty of photos of my hair for her Instagram and I headed to check out. The stylist put my charges in the computer and had the receptionist come to finish ringing me out. The receptionist tells me the total is $380. I thought I misheard and asked again. $380. I was so shocked and had no idea what to do at the time, so I paid and left, which I realized now was a huge mistake. The itemized receipt I was given had several charges on it the stylist never communicated with me during my 4 hour appointment. I was even charged $15 to curl the above shoulder length hair I had left. Not cool. So, I called a day later and asked to speak to a manager. I told her I was upset for not having this communicated with me and it's not fair to a customer to be blindsided with $130 in charges. She said she'd pass it on to the owner. I have not heard anything back since 2/23. I have tried twice to contact the owner, left a voice mail message once and left a message with the receptionist just a few days ago. Not a word. Like I said, coloring was great, but the way they have handled this issue earned them one star. I will not be back again and would not recommend due to these poor business practices. read more

I absolutely LOVE this studio. It's definitely on the more expensive side, but it's Wayzata so to be expected. With that said, I do feel like the amount they charge is worth it. I see Carly for my hair, she's incredibly talented and makes sitting in a chair for a few hours enjoyable and relaxing. I also love that they have a tag team method, there is always someone assisting with color and blow drying. This makes me very happy as I have tons of thick hair, and can easily burn half a day when getting my hair done, and that stresses me out. It goes much faster this way without compromising the quality of the service. Also if you're feeling worried about going into a salon due to covid, they are doing an impeccable job of following every measure possible to keep everyone safe and healthy. Decent hair stylist but they double as crooks. Took my 15 year old daughter in for a color and was charged $650 and it was a sub par color job. I also was overcharged for color and a so called conditioning treatment that did nothing for my hair. They also guilt you in to adding 20% tip by suggesting you add it at check out. Service was OK. When it came time to blow dry my hair the stylist pulled out a brush that still had hair in it (UM GROSS!) They also have a little dog running around which doesn't bother me particularly but I could see that being a sanitation issues. I used to LOVE seeing Sylvia. I followed her from salon to salon. When she opened her own studio I was so happy to support her. However, once she started running this salon the quality of her service dramatically decreased, while her prices skyrocketed. Often, despite booking my appt with Syliva, she'd pass me off to Laura (who I liked) but why am I paying full price for Sylvia to do my hair when she's not actually doing it? The price not only went up though, it was constantly changing. I'd suddenly be charged for a gloss, hair conditioning treatment, or various other things I hadn't requested or been told about. She constantly padded the bill with these additional services to the point I never knew what to expect. I probably would've kept going to her if the quality had remained the same but, as I stated, it dramatically decreased and wasn't even done by her. Such a huge disappointment as she was always my go to person. Now I have to find another. read more

Natalie who does the majority of airbrush tans was AMAZING. She totally made me feel comfortable even though I'm no Hollywood actress. And the tan looked FANTASTIC. It was perfect for my trip to Vegas. The only thing is that it really was impacted by using the lazy river (chlorine pool) which is expected (but sucks!)...of course when you're tan you want to show it off! It got a little blotchy from being in the chlorine (even though I do feel like I was careful and used it less than I may have without a spray tan) but the tan still looked great for the wedding that night. I got the tan on a Wednesday morning and did the lay in the pool day Saturday during the day...by Saturday night for the wedding the tan still looked awesome (would have been better had I not spent so much time in the water). I'd say the tan lasted a good 5-7 days with the best of it in the first 4 days. The second time I had the airbrush done I wasn't around chlorine and the color was even and lasted much longer than when I used a pool. Again, the tan itself, and Natalie were amazing. I've done Mystic Tan in a booth many times but the airbrush tan turned out so much better --more even and natural. (they get your hands, inside your legs, under your arms, your neck, all of it so evenly!) The price of airbrush is definitely worth it, especially for special occasions! I would also add--although I've never had my hair done here, I sat in the lobby and watched a video with before/after shots of hair extensions...one word...SOLD. IT appears they do amazing work in every area. You could walk out of there looking like a movie star! And everyone is very friendly! Great experience all around. read more

I went in for extensions and the whole process cost me a small fortune. They charged me $1,350.00 (plus tip) for three small bundles. The also told me haircuts would be free, however they never mentioned that I would have to pay to get it washed and dried which would be an additional $65.00. So the "free" haircut was just a 5 minute dry cut which was not worth my time to drive in for. They also never mentioned that I would be charged an additional $100-$200 just to remove them! They are very deceptive about their pricing. I went to another high end salon in Wayzata to get them removed and they didn't even charge me! I also got new Great Length extensions put back in and the total for everything only came to $500. It definitely pays to shop around! read more

Came out with hair worse than what I first came in with. Came in for blonde balayage(I have very light brown hair) and instead got light brown hair throughout the whole hair, green tint on the bottom and a bright silver patch of hair only by the ear. All the manager could say was that they were "staying in my budget" and that they can't predict how the hair will turn out and wanted me to come in and pay for another service. The manager also said it turned out bad due to how damaged my hair was, which she didn't see and the stylist herself said that I have very healthy hair and how it's going to turn out so blonde and beautiful. No apology, or anything about coming in redoing my hair. And when I mentioned to the manager/owner that no one including her apologized for the bad hair I got, all she said was "ok". I paid $250 for hair that looks worse than when I came in. Also note that service you book online will be twice more than when you come into the salon. When I booked online it said $150 for balayage and when I came in, they said $345. $250 was them "staying in my budget". Very disappointing. read more

Beware of hidden charges! I went in with a groupon, and they said I had to spend my entire prepaid $120 if I wanted to use my deal at all, and that the highlighting I wanted wouldn't be enough. Though I doubted there was actually any fine print stating that the entire $120 must be used, I agreed to add a $50 conditioning treatment (which in the end didn't noticeably improve my hair condition). When I checked out, my receipt seemed surprisingly high, but in a rush, I signed & left. Later I called back for an explanation & they informed me that there was an upcharge of something like $30 for my particular stylist (vs what was listed on their price sheet) and an additional $20 charge bc I didn't also have a cut with my highlight. What!!?? (oh yeah ... last week when I bought my beans at SuperTarget they charged me extra because I didn't also buy brocolli ...not!!!). These extra charges on top of the highlight brought me over $120, so I should never have been told I needed to spend another $50 to get to $120 in the first place!! Also while there they gave me complimentary mini makeover and hand moisturizing treatment, which was nice, but at the same time also made me feel strongly pressured to then buy the make up and hand moisturizing products, which I declined to do. ... the fact that I came in with a groupon should have indicated that I was someone interested in saving money and not an extravagant spender. I was happy with my hair color but would warn anyone to watch out for hidden charges and to expect to be pressured to spend money at this 'chichi' Wayzata salon. read more

She suggested the style and highlights and I love it -- makes my hair look thicker and has more body. Sylvia is the "pro" when it comes to extensions. Worst Salon I have ever been to. I went in to get my hair styled for my homecoming dance. I asked the lady on the phone if I should come with my hair washed or if they would wash it there. She said that it would be $30 if I came in with my hair already washed and blow dried, and I would only be paying for the styling. A friend came with me and she came with her hair dirty and was told it would be about $55 for the hair washing, drying, and styling. That was not the case. When I went in for my appointment my simply curled my hair and used some hairspray. I could have just done that myself if I knew how to curl my hair properly. And to top it off when I got to the register they charged me $55 with the tip not included. I was appalled. All that money for just curling my hair. My friend had her hair washed, dried, and styled for the same price. When I asked the lady why it cost so much, even though I did not have my hair washed or dried, she simply said that it didn't matter how much work they did that was the base price. I was certainly ticked off. I then asked to speak with the manager. When I told the manager about what the woman had said on the phone about it not being as much if I came with my hair already washed, she simply told me the same thing the receptionist had said. I am absolutely horrified. $55 is no small price to pay, especially for a high school girl. I had to work 3, 5 hours shifts to ear that money and it was all just ripped away by some snotty, rude employees. I would not recommend this salon to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Extremely rude and unsympathetic employees with no people skills. Full of hidden purchases as well. They tell you it will be cheaper on the phone but once you have actually had your hair done, they raise the price and demand you pay it. They are scam artists! read more
